Just made this. I used oat milk, but didn't have vanilla flavored, so I added 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. SO GOOD! I think we have a new favorite in the house. Thanks to both you and Kathy for the recipe! 🍓❤
@@bnalejandro7 Pretty sure it's a Vitamix. I have the same brand but mine is over 12 years old, so the shape is different. I didn't soak my dates, either. Best appliance investment ever. It has steam vents, too so I can put hot soup in it to blend without the top blowing off.

Yummylicioius!!! I believe I will try this tonight! I make two types of smoothies, which I have been making for a few years now -- Frozen banana and blueberries, almond milk, peanut butter, chia seeds, flaxmeal, then I blend in my Vitamix. The other is pretty much the same -- frozen banana, almond milk, cacao powder, flaxmeal and ice. OMG, unbelievably DELICIOUS!!! My picky husband LOVES them both but is undecided which he likes best, LOL!!! Thank you CHEF for the recipe!!
OMGosh. I just discovered this this weekend when fooling around in the kitchen. I made chia jam for the first time with strawberries and blueberries. I didn’t want to leave all that goodness in the bottom and sides of my blender so I added almond milk and a few spoons of the chia jam I just made. It’s not unusual in my culture to add oats to a drink so I did that. It was so good! Thick and creamy. I added a little psyllium husk too. It did not turn out like ice cream as yours did but now I know I could go further. And, I didn’t know there was such a thing as white chia seed. Now I gotta go find it. TYFS
Thank you for this! I’ve been craving shakes lately & have been sooooo tempted by the fast food ones, now I can go make this instead! I have everything on hand (including sliced frozen strawberries - from Sam’s) yum!!
Oooh yes, strawberrys are my favorite also. That looks sooo goood!!!. Gonna have to mske them all spring & summer everyday its hot. Thank You, God bless you from grandma Katie in Oregon
Yum!!! 😋 Looks so good!🍓 I have pre-ordered your book (signed) and am looking forward to / excited to have another Chef AJ book in my un-cookbook collection!! Thank you 😊💯💫✨🤩
I don't know why she switched between ounces and cups in the recipe, but for those who are wondering about the conversion: here is the recipe in cups: 1 1/2 C non-dairy milk 1/3 C Medjool Dates 3 C Frozen Strawberries 1/4 Cup of Rolled Oats 1/2 Tbsp white Chia Seeds
What are the amounts of each of the ingredients? I'd like to write this up for a new bride. I couldn't really tell how much chia seeds, how much almond milk, dates, strawberries, and oats.

This was amazing!! FYI, I used black Chia seeds instead of white because that’s what I had and it seemed to still be very light in color
I wonder if Flax seeds would work?
Wow looks beautiful ❤️
I need to make this tomorrow 🥰
Your version looks delicious!

Sounds yummy! Did you use to have a nut allergy? If so, how did you get rid of it or tolerate it? Or nut milk doesn't matter?
I remember Bob's Big Boy! Can't wait for your book to arrive! Got my mom one too! We love you! ❤️
My first job was a waitress there. Steaks, Shakes and Pancakes. ;)

Because ounces are more accurate and consistent then cups as people don't measure the same but the scale is always correct

Always buy organic when you can
