I've just recently turned 40, and I have been smoking now for about 25 years. My doctor says that it's highly doubtful I will see 50 unless I do some massive Lifestyle Changes. My Husband and I both quit smoking Jan 9, 2023. It’s been over 2 months now. This is the longest time we both have gone not returning to the nasty habit! Super thankful for the love and support of our family. Time to get healthy and be around for our grandchildren 😊
Best decision I ever made for my health..been clean 10 years now. My advice to you is be mindful of things you were doing when you smoked so that you don't relapse easily. Smoking is a habit so it takes time to form new habit around your daily routine..anyway goodluck
I lost my mother from pancreas cancer this March. She used to be a heavy smoker. When i lost her i realised i had to make an important step in my life: life or death, cigarettes or a healthier life. This July, when my military service finished i stopped smoking. This is my second day without cigarette. Wish me luck.

I love to see these strangers in the comment section just keep encouraging each others. I smoke a lot. But by reading all the comments i feel positive to quit smoking.
C'mon bro. U can do it. Its going to be impossibly hard at first but once you're use to it, you've basically made it. Well, i've never smoked in my entire life but i have the same issue as yours and it is an addiction as well
I smoked a pack or so a day for more than 20 years. I'm 41… and quit in April this year. Almost 5 months down and I can say that I've not felt this good in a long time, and I don't miss it at all. Getting to the point now, to where I don't even think about it anymore. Best of luck to all of us who decide to quit!
I’ve been smoking since I was 15. I am 28 years old now. Vaped for 5 years. Started with 500+ puffs a day to reducing it to 130 - 60 puffs a day (3months). Today marks 2 weeks of not taking a drag from anything. EDIT: Today is my birthday and I’m currently 29 tobacco free 💛💯💫😌 UPDATE: I am 30 and JAN 2024 will make 2 full years that I’ve been Tobacco free. No cigarettes, cigars, (herbs) vapes…absolutely smoke free. Hope this is motivation for some. If anyone needs help with words of encouragement please feel free to leave a comment and tell me about your journey, even if you are just thinking about quitting. I most definitely understand the hardships that come with being a smoker. 💫
Started at same age (15), quited at same age (28). It’s been a week. Cravings almost stopped, Im already experiencing a lot of changes, it made me think like how did I manage to live like 13 years. Definitely Im not going back to smoking again.
I'm 10 days in (I've had 6 cigarettes in those 10 days as opposed to a pack a day for 12 years) My body detox is crazy as heck.. the congestion in my ears is the most prominent road block right now but just feeling how much work my body is doing to heal itself is enough for me to keep off the smokes.
I quit cold turkey but it took repeated efforts . I am so glad I quit. I might not have made my 60s if I had continued. To all of you who are trying, do not give up. It is your life.
I started smoking when I was just 13.. I’m now 31 and have been smoke free for 10 days today. The cravings have been rough, especially in the mornings and after eating meals. Im also suffering the feeling of “loss”, like I am grieving for my smoker self and feel very sad and anxious thinking about never having a cigarette again. I can’t remember life before smoking. I know this will pass. I am determined to stay focused…
Hope you're still smoke free! I just recently quit and everytime I even smell a cigarette it makes me nauseous, after eating is definitely my biggest moment of weakness but I find that if I get myself distracted for 10-15 minutes it goes away. Good luck!
@@RobDaDon_ I am 6 weeks smokefree today! The thought of having a cigarette still enters my mind after eating but it’s not the physical craving anymore- I guess I kinda just miss the act and the satisfied feeling I had when smoking after meals. @@100rebeccaleanne That's awesome! Glad you're sticking with it and wish you all the best luck!! I'm a little over a month sober from alcohol so stopping smoking seemed like the next logical step and am so glad I did
I quit smoking 5 months ago, I promised my wife when she got pregnant that Ill quit. (I used to smoke half a pack a day since I was 18 years old - now I am 39) How I did it ?, I just threw the pack of cigarettes, and that was it. it wasn't easy though. it requires will power, the 1st week was so hard, and till now, when I see someone smoking, with coffee, or after lunch, I feel tempted to grab one, but I never do, and I will never do. Healthwise I feel more energetic, my mornings are way better, no smell, no coughing, still a little bit of Mucus sometimes. I gained up to 6Kg after quitting, so I bought a bicycle, to help get my weight back to normal, and I am avoiding carbs and sugar. Now I can go biking, up to 30 km in one trip. Wish me luck!
Update? I quit only 7 hrs ago I refuse to let it control me any longer than it already has, I'm only 22 and I've been smoking got 5 yrs already, I can't take deep breaths, I have hardly any taste buds I'm always sick and my chest just is filled with way too much fluid, my sister's have picked up the habit too and my brother begs me to stop so here I go into the unknown! I hope you're still on the right path my friend, keep it up!
@@purpleheartedkatelee7749 here is an update :), 1st I got my new baby girl, and I cant be more proud as a father of 3 (quitting smoking is an achievement, specially in my case, I have been smoking for 20+ years), 2nd I lost 11 kg, so far, still on no carbs, no sugar diet, 4 meals a day, and lots of vegetables and fruits, and still biking between 10km - 35km every 3 days. My craving for cigarettes, is wayyyyy less than it was before, I still crave it sometimes, but it is very rare, mainly when I drink alcohol, and thats it. the main difference I feel, is my mornings, and how energetic I am, no more coughs, and no more mucus (enjoy breathing ;). Just stay motivated and dont think about cigarettes, I know it is not easy, but nothing is impossible, YOU CAN DO IT, use lots of chewing gums, and some sugar free candies, they help a lot, and whenever you crave it, go do something that takes it away (like playing a game, driving around, eating something, or call someone you know to help you. Remember, 1 cigarette, might get you back to smoking, and destroy all the hardwork you put into quitting. Best of luck!!
I quit on 11/08/2014. I was a half a pack to a pack a day smoker for 5.5 years. It was my favorite thing to do and quitting was the hardest thing I ever did. It took me 4 years of just trying to quit before I was able to, but when I did it became one of my greatest accomplishments. If you're trying to quit I have a lot of advice for you but my biggest tip is to remember that the cravings will go away and it does get easier. Also don't beat yourself up if you fail and feel like you have lost all of your progress, this is not true. Attempting to quit and failing multiple times actually does make it easier to succeed because every day of not smoking is another day that you get in the habit of not doing it. Just take a deep breath and try again.
I decided to quit two days ago. And this morning was the first time in years I woke up from 8 hours of sleep the easiest it’s been since my early 20’s and I’m 35 now .
Good for you Bro me too ! Im on day 4 and Im becoming supersyan !! The benefits of quitting are amazing . I smoked for 20 years Im 36 so its been hard to quit but my time was up so I had to make the choice
I see you posted 10 days ago about quitting, how're you doing with it? I hope you stick with it, it's worth it. About 6 weeks for me. If you're still not smoking you should be noticing how smokers smell now. I'm amazed at how my sense of smell and taste have improved. Just hope I don't get too fat lol. But anyway, hope you're kicking it. Don't give up
31 years and counting. Probably the best thing I ever did for myself. The sad part is watching friends still smoking and compromising their health. The best thing that helped me quit was learning that the cravings go away after 2 years. It's a long time but at least it goes away. To be successful, try to learn to hate tobacco, it helps.
I listened to a quit smoking self hypnosis video on RUclips. In the video the narrator repeated "When I see someone smoking, I feel sorry for them". 🌟🌟👍🌟🌟🌟 That phrase really helped me quit!!

I have been doing 25 pushups every time it's helped a lot....day 3 today,...trying to cut down...first day 5 cigs and yesterday 3...today I'm hoping none!!!
I quit in January after smoking for 50 years. Used Chantex which really helped me, it relax me & helped with urges. I had to stop after using it for a little over a month because the nausea & Madrid stomach pain got worse. I take deep breaths & try to do something to take my mind off it. I vow not to smoke against
You can it's just saying no to it again like you have done every day of the 51 days you can keep this up for your health money family an so many more reasons
I have never smoked a cigarette in my life but was around second hand smoke for years. I watched my dad die from COPD and cancer brought on by smoking. My thoughts and prayers go out to those trying to quit.
There has never been one study conducted that definitively proves that second hand smoke is harmful. It's part of the campaign of the rabid non-smokers who came up with this myth about second hand smoke. Just saying...
@@MindBodySoulOk Us too. There has never been a study done (among the very few studies) that shows ill effects from 2nd hand smoke. They're all inconclusive. It was a media campaign to say that it's harmful, that's all.
did you see the blue bunny yet? right before you pass that final stage of completion towards your sobriety; a blue bunny gives you a complimentary cigarette for completing it. man does that cigarette take all of the aches and pains away
I started smoking when I was 16…I quit 5 days after my 40th birthday. It’s been over 10 years now and my only wish is I had quit sooner. The chest infections part in the video is absolutely true. I used to get about two or three chest colds/infections a year…after I quit I never got another one again.
Guys I've failed. But I went from 1pack-7 sticks/day last year(Dec 2018), down to 5/day (Jan-Apr 2019) and now down to just three sticks a day (since April 3rd). Its very hard to go cold turkey abruptly but I'm quite happy I've lessened smoking significantly.

I'm 72 years old, I smoked for many years, I thought that I'd never be able to quit. I was wrong, DR. ordered some Chantix and it made it easier. I was getting cravings but I'd say to myself,"self you can't let other people that are trying to help down". In two months it will be five years since I quit.
@@yudhveer99 Because I save a lot of money, I can smell better. Since I quit smoking if I get around someone that smokes I can smell them and it is disgusting. I think wow, I smelled like that?
@@MrSarge99 The fact that smoking hadn't visibly harmed you til that age doesn't mean you should've continued, but that you have the right genetics and not smoking will hopefully help you live 100 years! Good job!
I smoked just short of 2 packs a day for 48 years. Will be celebrating 6 months 100% cigarette free on August 22nd. Its been a long, lonely, rough journey but oh so worth it!!!!! Even if you don't succeed first time around.... never say never! Keep trying. You'll get there!! You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. It is a dreadful addiction but you CAN defeat it! Good luck!!
It's important to remember that you don't have to quit cold turkey. It took me several tries, but I finally found that the step down patches worked for me. I smoked for 30 years and was up to 2 packs a day. I quit smoking September 12, 2018 and I quit nicotine November 8, 2018. Five years later and I can't imagine ever going back. Few, heavy smokers quit on the first try. Keep trying until you find what works for you. One thing I know for certain is that you have to want to quit. Your will power will be tested daily for the first month or so. It's not easy, but it's worth it just to breathe easier.
The CineRanter If you still are struggling, try Allen Carrs book about quitting - it helped me and I have not smoked for almost 8 months AND I have NO desire to start again. The book has some points about health issues, but it is mostly about the psychological addiction, so it does not bash you over the head with possible heart attacks all the time. What is even better, you can keep smoking while reading it, but by the time you finish it, you wont want to continue smoking - at least, from my experience. However, if you are not into books, then there are his clinics all over the world, but the sessions are quite pricey when compared to the book.
I haven't smoked in 2 days. It's currently 2:33 am and I can't sleep. I've gotten maybe 4 hours of sleep in the last 2 days. But I'm going to stick to it to make sure I live a long time for my kids

"Quitting is hard". That is the lie we tell ourselves so we have an excuse to start again. Go cold turkey without vape, patches and gum and every time you get the urge to smoke pick up a pen and pretend it is a cigarette, do the whole draw, inhale and exhale thing with it and after three or four goes the craving will fade away. You essentially trick your mind into thinking it had a cigarette by going through all the familiar mechanical motions associated with smoking. Fifteen years free and loving my ability to walk up stairs without collapsing at the top.
Yeah but I also think those who say "quitting is easy" is just another way for someone to fail. Why not just present a realistic expectations of quitting smoking, tell people how it is going to be rather than getting their hopes up or hopes down. I am quitting smoking, it's has been three days and rn I have a craving for nicotine, the biggest difference now unlike the first time I tried to quit, is my mindset and having ways to distract myself, I don't think quitting is impossible but it's not super easy, but every day I am getting better.
Quiting is not easy. You are just being insulting when you say that. It's scientifically proven its not only difficult but a chemical need caused by nicotine. Try to be encouraging.
@@briandutler4466 Saying quitting is hard is literally giving an excuse to not even bother or go back to smoking. I smoked from age 11 until 38 and used the old "it's hard" excuse every time until I finally realized I was bullshitting myself and took the attitude that it is not hard.
I understand what your saying by not giving an excuse. But I smoked for 20 years and struggled to quit. Its been 5 years smoke free. But it always made me feel like something was wrong with Me and made me depressed when other people said its easy. Was not till later I realized they were lieing.

I started smoking when I was just 13.. I’m now 31 and have been smoke free for 10 days today. The cravings have been rough, especially in the mornings and after eating meals. I know this will pass. I am determined to stay focused…

Smoked for almost a decade ! This pandemic made me quit smoking and now im smoke free ! Its hard but its rewarding. Your body will love you for this.
I quit smoking 5 months ago, I promised my wife when she got pregnant that Ill quit. (I used to smoke half a pack a day since I was 18 years old - now I am 39)
How I did it ?, I just threw the pack of cigarettes, and that was it. it wasn't easy though. it requires will power, the 1st week was so hard, and till now, when I see someone smoking, with coffee, or after lunch, I feel tempted to grab one, but I never do, and I will never do.

I hope you're still on the right path my friend, keep it up!
Very glad to hear you’re doing well!

I quit 8 years 6 months and 29 days ago and have not been back, not even for 1 puff. Best decision ever.

It's important to remember that you don't have to quit cold turkey. It took me several tries, but I finally found that the step down patches worked for me. Few, heavy smokers quit on the first try. Keep trying until you find what works for you. One thing I know for certain is that you have to want to quit. Your will power will be tested daily for the first month or so. It's not easy, but it's worth it just to breathe easier.

If you still are struggling, try Allen Carrs book about quitting - it helped me and I have not smoked for almost 8 months AND I have NO desire to start again.

I haven’t smoked for 2 days. When I want to smoke I watch these types of videos. It kinda helps. Reading comments makes it easier. I only smoked 2 cigarettes a day and can’t believe how hard it is to even kick that habit.
Had my last cigarette yesterday, 17th May 2019.

How's it going
@@jacoblindsay1593 It's going great! It's been 4 days now.. the first couple of days were the hardest. Kinda felt sick, coughing mucus for hours and leg cramps around the calves area. I don't feel like buying another pack, I used to crave a cig or two after every meal but now I brush my teeth instead. And I don't breathe as loud anymore. Yeah, I can do it!
@@kokom8405 happy for u mate best thing for u you'll be happy in the long run best of luck from me as I stopped myself couple year ago not to sure and after i never felt so fresh cigs are nothing but poison but well done I'm sure u can do it

What in 2months? Did u quit??
You're still quitting?
@Gribble Dribble you're the one person I see in the comments who encourages people who are quitting or unsure to try it...why?
Had my last cigarette earlier tonight, gotta end this so I can be with my kids when I’m older.
Will update
How are you getting on?
Brandon Dolan I’m doing well, had a few cravings but nothing I couldn’t surpass.
On top of being healthy for my
Kids I also got a job that I couldn’t have before due to nicotine usage!
@@Sladeium that's great! I quite for a year and a half and then somehow got back into it unfortunately but plan to quit again literally now as we speak so if I can make it a year and a half then I can do it for the rest of my life. I'm only 21 also
My dad occasionally smokes and I'm trying to get him to stop. He said he would quit when he hit 50. Yet he still smokes occasionally what should I do?
@jack mccall OK thanks I'll try that! I'll tell you in 1 month
Wooo! Watched this back in late April when I quit cold turkey an still smoke free! So happy I quit.
True. With Nicotine, there is nothing like reducing. You just need to cut the flow at once.
Quit September 2019 at 63 years old after maybe 45 years of smoking. It can be done. The key is for you to make that choice because there aren't any shortcuts. Best of luck to all.
Lol, u have smoken whole life.......why quit?.....Enjoy man.....It would be better, u left at young age.....Now at the end, nothing u get by quitting
My mother quit cold turkey when she was 65 she said she had smoked since she was 15 she's healthy independent and 92 years old I believe her quitting tobacco is a factor you did the right thing
@@shaikarif8828 It would be better? So lemme tell you this, if you got lung cancer from smoking, would you still smoke because "ah, I've already got cancer so I might as well." You should worship the guys who have overcome the struggles of getting rid of your habit, not encouraging them to continue killing themselves.

I'm 6'0 ft 306 lbs and I quit smoking almost a week ago. It's been 4 years since I've made the transition from military to civilian life and honestly I haven't worked out but a handful of times since. I married the love of my life almost 3 years ago and I finally made the decision to live healthy for her and our children.
Wtf does being tall, fat and a military wimp have to do with smoking ?
@@willymaykit1482 many people in the military smoke, so most people start there and quiting is realy hard when al your collegs and friends are smoking there. In the military you have so many times you do nothing, so trust me it is so hard

I’ve stopped smoking 13 years, 3 months and 1 day ago.
I’m quitting right now. Please wish me luck, I have 4 kids who need me to do this! One last smoke and hopefully I come back in a year smoke free
Now because of this video I want to start smoking so I can quit
Fraideris! Quitting is not as easy as it sounds, it’s better to not smoke
Galactic Pickle Depends of the person, for example I smoked and stopped 3 months ago very easily
He was probably being scarastic anyone that knows the truth about smoking will never do it. As for me I haven't smoke and I'm going to keep it that way
Smoke a pack a day and it’s hard to imagine not smoking
Fraideris! 😂 wth
I've been smoking for 10 years. Then I got pregnant. It's been 2 months now. Yey. 💚
Hope you stayed true to quitting. Congratulations on your little one too.
Im 17 been smoking since i was 14. I stopped smoking since yesterday havent touched one today and i plan to keep going for days, months, years on end. I wish you luck if your on a journey to stop like me. God bless
Congrats for taking the first step. Continue and stay strong👊
3 months down the line, did you quit?
Keep us posted!
I really hope you stuck to this. Picking up my first cigarette was the worst mistake of my life. Second worse was not pulling out of a chick when I was 17 and having my first kid 9 months later 😒
YourFutureExHusband 22 I feel that second part. I love my daughter, but it was too early and with the wrong woman 🤦🏻♂️
Don’t listen to the mind. The body will thank you later. The thinking mind is a trouble maker.
Smoked since I was 13 quit when I got pregnant at 20 and started back after giving birth, just got pregnant again in January and quit again and hope to never pick it up again! I can do it! ❤️ anyone else can too!

Easiest way to quit is to never begin to smoke in the first place.
Quit 2 weeks ago and still going strong💪🏼 anyone who’s quitting, YOU CAN DO IT!!
Yo ✊
Pure truth. I smoked for 30 years, quit 14 years ago with the patches. They worked great for me.
Hi Everyone ~ I'm not proud of myself, but I've been smoking for 62 years! I have tried everything under the sun to quit. The longest I was able to quit was for 3 years! I don't know anymore what to do except pray! I am a Christian & this is appalling to me that my flesh appears to be weaker than my Faith! Have no clue what my problem is, but thank you for taking a precious moment out of your life to read about my dishonor to the Lord.
By the way, for whatever it's worth, I am so very proud of each one of you for quitting this horrible addiction! It's not easy & for me, quite painful. Remain strong, for I truly believe you will be Blessed. 💜😊
You are blessed for telling your testimony. God bless you.
after smoking for 3 yrs,I have to admit, quitting made me appreciate my physic more,I'm now addicted to the feeling of being full of energy n as a result eat healthier, exercise n run more to just to feel the energy surging! .p.s, Its been 3 months since my last cig, u can do it!
After over 40 years of smoking, I decided to quit two weeks ago, I find it extremely hard but have decided now to quit because my chest hurts.....wish me luck!!

GuitarEkket86 I was in 3 pks a day for 10 years, went 3 months no cigs cause vapor, started back up half a pack a day, now it's been 5-6 days not even craving.
Wow.. last week made 28 years since I stopped smoking! I started smoking when I was 12 and I’m so grateful that I was able to kick that habit. It was a hard battle and I’m grateful to God that he helped me to prevail!
15 years.................... fml, I quite 6 months ago. That is like the most unmotivating thing to know that the effects last 15 years after quitting
Well even after 6 month your body has healed itself a lot
What does fml mean?
Just smoke.
I know right, i guess it also depends on how much you’ve smoked and for how long. Not sure how they can just come up with a 15 year number without knowing how much damage each person has done to their body, an estimate i guess. Still feels like a long time though.
Wtf I found you on a video like this lol
