I agree! It’s almost better when Alyssa can’t completely nail the inspo and creates a look that is unintentionally original with a similar vibe. It feels so authentic.
i actually liked a few of the things she did not think "worked". lol...this is why i keep asking about guidance for basic fashion rules on proportion, etc. as an older lady with more curves than alyssa, i also constantly wonder about "tucking" for someone like me. it just does NOT seem to work. opinions on that?
Fantastic job shopping your own closet, Alyssa. On another matter- I’ve noticed your sense of humor has been unleashed recently. Keep being your funny self - you’re entertaining me. Thanks🤗
I so love the creativity instead of consumption. It reminds me a bit of being a teenager, when there wasn't so much available, so we had to be creative with what there was.
Just finished watching this week’s video. It really helps when you show your attempts and explain why combos don’t work. I’ve been a big shopper over the years but you have helped me approach my clothes with a new eye. Thanks Alyssa. I always enjoy your videos and personality.
This might be my favorite of this series because you made more choices to reflect your style rather than just replicating a look. The limitations of your current wardrobe seemed to push you out of your typical styling and we were able to see not just how to reproduce a look but the process of tweaking it to make it your own style.
OMG! Today I got dressed for church and I spent time picking out my outfit. I hadn’t seen the video before I got ready but it was so funny that there was the print dress with the jacket! It was a cool day so I had a Nick and Zoe dress with capped sleeves. I put on my reddish turtleneck textured sweater over, popped on a belt and wore my moto jacket! The bomb! I had red tights that matched the red is the dress and the sweater and my yellow Chelsea boots! Some fun, Huh, Bambi! Would never have put this look together before, but I stepped out of the box! Very stylish!
Love these kind of videos , never get tired of them, so inspirational, well done ! Love the combo of black and navy blue and also last but not least, love the cat , what a sweet face !!
I love your videos. As a petite woman, I do not own a lot of oversized clothing, but I am learning to style what I do have. Thanks for pushing me out of my comfort zone! I like the second look the best. Thank you!
Hi Alyssa! Love all of your videos! I was a trend shopper, but I knew I had to switch to slow consumption and become more picky and classy when I buy. My closet was full of clothes but when I was going to get dressed I always thought I had nothing to wear. I started the process already thanks to you and the lady from Use Less. I'm buying second hand more and creating wardrobe capsules. Thanks for each of your videos!
Like love the 2nd look ❤ You and a few others have changed the way i dress 👍🏾👏🏿🙌🏿 I am amazed how many different ways i can wear one green dress 👗 Wardrobe capsule is the way for me🧥🧤🧣👖👛👠👢!!! THANK YOU AB 🙂
What just happened in my closet is outrageous and you are 100% responsible. I made five holiday outfits with things I already own that looks so good on me! They came together in cool funky ways I would never have even tried without you. I am kind of obsessed with your channel. I’m so grateful that I won’t be showing up at these holiday events in an off the rack dress with moderate personality that cost me money that I didn’t need to spend! Thank you.
I liked all of your looks better than the originals. I especially liked your slouchy sweater more than the vest in the first look. The dress and jacket was so good. I appreciate that you make the styling appropriate to cold weather so it's realistic for those of us who dwell in cold winter country. Thank you!
The last one was my fave. I don’t have most of the pieces or think the look is very me, but you! You looked incredible like a fashion magazine editor or Jenna Lyons. Well done.
Alyssa, you have inspired me to donate anything that doesn't flatter/fabrics that don't feel good/ things I've never reached for. In the process I found some great 'new' combinations. Thank you for making me rethink my style.
I would love to see more of these shop your closet videos. It allows us to learn about new trends and how we can make it work with clothes that we already have. Many thanks!
I know I am commenting on an older video- so you may not see this..but I really love these types of videos and how you are showing a photo of someones outfit and helping the viewer see you can capture that with new pieces. Thanks
I agree with you because something I look à my outfits and try to find why it doesn’t work proportion, collar ? Sometimes I can’t find so it useful that Alyssa show us the not to do version and explain why …so inspiring
It’s great observing how you’re changing your clothing to match your evolving style, which you’ve also helped me to do. A couple years ago, I think we had more similar clothing choices, but are evolving to enjoy different things. It’s helped me to better appreciate how lifestyle impacts style (I work in an office, for example), and how minimalism and menswear can be interpreted differently.
Thank you for all the advice. I really like your videos. It has made me think about what I don't need and how I can adapt. Love where you find inspiration and show how to look at what is happening with the elements and structure or texture. I look forward to your Sunday posts. Many thanks x
Love these SO much. As a large busted petite, I don’t do much oversized, but can try to adjust to my figure. Liked the last one most as it’s something I might wear and included navy. I learn so much with these videos AND the Live sessions. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Loving the trials and errors followed by great success 👌 We saw your creative process in action and that is really informative! Kudos for your channel. Going right now to shop my closet too ( and my hubby’s who has the perfect oversized sweater to steal … 😉)
Hit, hit, hit! The third look reminded me just a bit of a Karen Britchick type of outfit. Also, I loved how you kept tweaking things until you were satisfied. Nice to know I’m not the only one who has to do that sometimes.
Another great video Alyssa! I love to see the process you go through building outfits. I am on a two-day break away from home and spent an hour experimenting with looks before packing, and it made SUCH a difference. I feel great in the clothes I brought - really comfortable, stylish, and put-together. Definitely time well spent.
Love that you got perfectly the vibes of the outfits inspirations (after trying several choices which we all do while thinking that everyone else chooses right the first time!!!) Also when you want to show the navy color, yes stand more in the natural light of a window or navy looks black in the videos...
This video shoved quite a whole new version of Alyssa for me! Loved it! The humour, the movements, the rougher vibes, the totally unapologetic expression. You go girl!! (the looks were, of course, amazing too.
Though I don’t have similar pieces in my closet I get so many helpful tips! I have been able to create new combinations and it makes me so happy to know I’m getting better.
Amazing how you do this. I think the key is breaking down the style elements in the original look. After watching you do it many times, I think I may be able to do it too. Thanks so much. This is my favorite type of video. Great job as always.
Ciao Alyssa! Belle idee .. Nice ideas, thanks. I love the black leather trousers with the sporty sweather and the sneakers , easy way to use mine . Your hair are longer every Sunday ... i tuoi capelli ogni domenica sono più lunghi e belli . Ciaoooo from Italy
The selection of different styles and looks was great. Most of the time I shop 1 look that I'm bored with. With a few adjustments, as you have shown, I may be able to create a new look within my existing wardrobe. Thanks for the ideas.
Loved the corrections you made & the narrative - brilliant! Navy & black together is something I've never done or even thought was ok, so thx for expanding my horizons.😊
I love all the clothing combinations but still can’t do white tennis shoes with dark pants or dressier looks. I know it’s a style we see a lot these days!
Alyssa, you have some of the best style out there and I so appreciate your videos. I have yet to attend a live shop your closet event but plan to soon. An interesting thing that I have discovered about myself is that when I shop my closet and get creative, as well as when I buy pre-loved, my personal style is actually better. At least I think so!
Loved the moto jacket with the dress the most. It's a fun look. The leather pants and sweater are great as well. The first look didn't do it for me, I would feel swamped in it. It also reminds me of dressing for -20c which I hope doesn't happen too soon. 😁
Different weather, from South Africa. But what a good video, we all have enough in our wardrobes to create great outfits. Thank you for showing us how to make more of less.
I really like how you take the concept of the outfit and bring it with your own style. It really feels encouraging for me to do the same instead of just trying to copy someone else.
Thank you Alyssa. You always inspire me to shop my looks. I always receive those seasonal short catalogs from stores I used to frequent. Now instead of buying the clothes advertised, I try to duplicate the looks with what I already have. It has helped me be a smarter consumer, for example I noticed I don't have a white sweater in my closet ( hardly any whites in my closet) and it is a staple. Thanks again.
Alyssa you have a very adorable and handsome fur baby he's georgeous and he knows it 😊💕 love your re-creation. I too love tall boots and anxiously waiting for the weather to change so I can wear them. (I'm in Hollywood, CA and we're pushing 90°)
Since I've been studying you and some other wonderful influencers, I've really leveled up in my clothing sense, so thank you! Going to try the leggings with oversized shirt and sweater!!!
GORGEOUS...every....single...outfit! The inspirations were very cool, but your final looks for each one really elevated them from my perspective. I loved how you worked through each outfit and changed it according to your style aesthetic. That is how it really should be done!

@@AlyssaBeltempo you'll be pleased to know, I found a jeweller local to me, that is melting down some old solid gold jewellery I have inherited (most of it broken/not my style) and it's being made into new pieces of jewelry that's unique to me ☺️ I'm very excited, and was very much inspired by you to re-purpose/re-use what I've got 😌 so thank you ❤️
It’s funny I love getting inspired by some men’s outfits too, today a friend on Instagram was wearing white jeans, white t, black belt, cream sweater tied around shoulders, I know what I’ll wear today!💜so good to see you brought your kitty with you👍👍to Montreal 🐈⬛ great looks BTW. You can always cut the arms of your sweater off to make a vest without buying one👍 love your leather pants outfit
Not to focus on anyone’s struggles, but I love it when we see the versions that don’t work. It is always a wonderful peek into the process.
Me too! Love to see not only the final version but how to get there!
Yes! I think seeing what doesn't work is the biggest learning experience for me!
I agree! It’s almost better when Alyssa can’t completely nail the inspo and creates a look that is unintentionally original with a similar vibe. It feels so authentic.

Assuming that your curves are both above and below the waist, waist definition is your friend- belts in particular.
It really does help to see what does not work as well as what does. Helpful video
She's sassy in this video. I likey.

Lovely to see the Boss. He’s a very handsome fellow these days. Beautiful markings.
Haha he is!
Fantastic job shopping your own closet, Alyssa. On another matter- I’ve noticed your sense of humor has been unleashed recently. Keep being your funny self - you’re entertaining me. Thanks🤗

Can't thank you enough for saving ton of money from shopping and reusing my old clothes🥺🥺
Cat hair. Ha! Story of my life 😂 Loved this video and the styles. Thanks for the inspiration. Your hair looks gorgeous by the way!
So refreshing to see your videos rather than constant shopping hauls and watching endless closet videos. Thanks again

I agree with changing the jacket with the swingy volume of the dress! These were all very inspiring looks!
I think the key is that it is an "inspiration" not a duplication. I loved your results.
Look at you upping your bag game! I love when the SYC videos have three outfits. And extra props for doing this out of a track suitcase.
