I've made a Google sheet of clothing that I wear; I list all items (named with colour, garment type, and season) and I fill out in, in the morning when I get dressed. It's really shown me what I actually where versus what I think I will wear. I have a seperate sheet for my wishlist and reasons why I want to add the item. It makes it easy to really thoughtfully pick up pieces I know I will wear.
Ooooooo my wishlist is on a google doc separated by need but putting it on a spreadsheet would be a good idea…. Combining your closet inventory with it is a good idea too along with recent purchases made. I might have to change my set up!
Wonderful idea. I kept track of what I wore every day for two weeks before falling off the wagon. It definitely inspired creativity as I reached for things that had been forgotten for a while.
super ocd.....Aaaaaaaaaaaand I love it!! I never thought of doing that before! What I do is I get out my travel clothes before packing and I put all the different combinations together and snap a pic of each outfit with my phone, along with corresponding accessories.
I read recently that there are enough clothes on the planet right now to clothe the next six generations. It’s such a sobering reality and one which we should all consider before buying new clothing.
Pro tip: live small then you literally don't have space for a large wardrobe 😁 (Not only does every item in your wardrobe have to justify itself but you find yourself reluctant to buy anything that you don't absolutely need)
Yes, your point about taking care of one’s clothes is important for cherishing, valuing and appreciating what we already have. I am learning to steam, leather clean, de-pill, and alter my clothing to show it care. I truly feel a difference toward my belongings as being important and valuable, and not just replaceable “junk”.
I've come to love ironing and steaming my garments between washes. Not only is it mentally relaxing, but taking the time to care for our possessions shows they have value to us, thus preventing the desire to add more possessions. I guess it's like gratitude for our clothes lol
@@WatchandLearn16 Alyssa did a Vlogmas years ago where she talked about “wool care” (if you search her name and that tag it comes up) where talks about a “wool shaver” and I love it. I tried a steel wool brick thing and it destroyed my clothes. For stains, I like the Laundress (a different clothing care video Alyssa did led me to them) mixed with some oxyclean and let it sit. I also just died many of my whites another color bc I am an adult who spills. Good luck!
Every few years, I prioritize my clothes/accessories by “most favorite,” and move things I’m not as smitten with to another location. That makes it easy for me to see that I look/feel SO MUCH better just by wearing things that make my heart sing (returning other items to closet as warranted). With a curated closet, I’m less likely to choose a so-so outfit. Especially for those of us who have a tendency to “save” our “better” things (by only wearing for “special” occasions), this can be life changing. As a last resort, I like to ask myself, “Would I choose this shirt, pants, etc. if I knew I was going to run into an ex boyfriend today?” 😉 The biggest hurdle for me has been deciding EVERYDAY that TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO LOOK MY BEST! Thanks Alyssa!
I totally concur with you; planning outfits well in advance of an "important" occasion is a great time investment. I do a big wardrobe turn over twice a year, between "colder seasons" and "warmer seasons", and after I've selected the core items, I ask myself, "What would I wear if I had a semi-formal evening event in the next few months? Do I have the right coat? Accessories? What do I have that I could attend a happy occasion in, like a brunch, an afternoon baby shower, a christening, a class reunion...what about a professional event, such as a conference, or a solemn occasion, such as a funeral?" I pre-select a few items (including footwear and handbags) that could be mixed-and-matched, and I try them on to make sure they still fit, the moths have not eaten them, the hems and buttons have not come loose, straps are not broken, leather is not scuffed, etc. If any of the outfits require "special" underwear (strapless bra, shapewear, undies that won't show, slip shorts) I make sure I have that too, and that it is in tip-top shape. Taking the time to plan ahead for "special events" gives me the confidence of knowing that I won't have to run to the store or pay for expedited shipping just to get something "meh" at the last minute. I see it as a priceless gift I give to myself. It also helps me discover gaps in my closet so I have enough time to find those pieces at a good value, and have them tailored if they need to be. 🍁
@@athag1 It all started because I wear sizes XL/XXL and trying to find something appropriate last-minute is almost impossible. Whatever is at the ready makes me look like a cheap tramp or a governess from the 1800s. It took me years to come to this point, but I'm glad that "pre-selecting" a few outfits for seasonal events has become part of caring for my wardrobe. I think it feels easier if you start with planning for one likely event, for example, "If I had to go to elegant dinner this season, what would I wear?" and then choose a handful of pieces that can be accessorized in different ways. I usually choose a dress, a skirt, a pair of trousers, 3 tops that complement the bottoms, and a couple jackets. If I keep the palette restricted to a few neutrals plus a pop of color, most times I can combine all of these pieces with each other. This season I have: a scoop neck black dress, a tweed skirt with cream/cognac/gray/burgundy threads, dark burgundy trousers, a sleeveless ivory v-neck blouse, a very light silvery-gray top, and a cream top with a high neck. To round these up, I chose a camel-colored blazer and a black moto jacket, both of which I can wear with the dress, skirt, and trousers. I feel more comfortable when I wear shapewear under the black dress, so I made sure I have it, and I tried on the strapless bra that I wear with the sleeveless blouse to see if it still fits. That's it! I know I can wear these pieces with any combination of accessories I already have (nude court shoes, black pointy flats, burgundy heeled boots, tan riding boots, delicate necklaces, chunky baubles, pearls, beige satchel, black clutch, burgundy crossbody envelope purse, gray wool coat, belts, scarves) to change the look. To be completely honest, I used to decline invitations---and then fall into a depressed state about my weight, my finances, my social network, my tendencies toward introversion---just because I couldn't get anything appropriate to wear at a moment's notice. Now, by getting a few outfits "thought out" in advance, I feel prepared and have a lot less stress about what to wear when I need to look extra polished.
I agree with not using a dryer. I have a lot of clothes with natural fibers, so I like to stretch and block them into original shape. Also I am a 38 j in the bust and a 28 inch waist so I can't afford any shrinkage🧑🦳
I found that when I focus on what I don't like about an item of clothing I don't make the mistake of buying it again... boat neck tops, clothes that are too form fitting, cropped pants. That way I avoid even thinking about buying them.
I agree! A similar tip I heard: when you purge, look at the labels. If there appear to be many items from one shop, stop shopping there. Sadly, I followed this tip after finding most of my selling/donates were coming from one boutique. Saved me time and money, but oh do I miss that shop...
Right now I'm in a really fun phase of expanding my idea of what I enjoy wearing, which involves picking up anything that piques my interest. Sometimes, I get the delivery or get to the dressing room, and I can see that the item has a great vibe, but it's not MY vibe. Currently on my list: belted coats. They seem to look fabulous on many people, but I always look like I'm wearing a bathrobe. If I see a style I haven't tried before, or a material of trench that's different, I'll give it a whirl. And in the end, I may decide that belted items aren't my style and don't sit right on me, which means I can stop lusting over them!
A small 24” wide wardrobe rack in my bedroom out in the open is what i use to plan outfits and ponder new purchases. I hang outfits I want to wear for the week on it. I hang new items on it to decide if I want to keep or return.
I love your message in this channel to be creative instead of purchasing more and more! I'd love to see a video on how you do the entire "preparation" of selling your unwanted pieces on depop, vinted, etc. I want to sell so many pieces but don't know how to price them, how to best take the pics and describe them, etc. I love and wear all my clothes but have way too many pieces and made the decision to sell on and put that money towards something useful like my retirement plan, my mortgage, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
Your channel has inspired me. Recently a coworker said that they way I have been styling my clothes gave them inspiration as well. I immediately recommended your channel. Thanks so much for getting me to think seriously about being a better steward of not just what I wear but how I consume fashion.
wow Jessica that is amazing! Everyone has influence and makes an impact. Thank you so much for sharing this encouraging story and the channel, it really means a lot. xx
My whole lifestyle has changed not just my closet and the way I dress, your advice ,tips and thought process I use in other areas of my home and life too and it is a very satisfying ,thanks so much for the teaching🇿🇦
I had to learn over the years what I actually like to wear. I'm not a dress girl but I can wear a skirt occasionally. I love slacks, pant suits, shorts, jeans..and I work around that. I have a dress or two if needed. I think that is so important to learn who you are and what you're comfortable in. I love how you use your closet..that's reality 🙂😉💗💗💗
I love how you brought out we should shop knowing what is in our closet. And building a wardrobe that eventually needs fewer items that need to be added. Really great reminders for people like me who really don’t need to add to their closet. 💗
Your videos have helped me so much, Alyssa. I popped into the store today on a mission to get my perfect nude bra. Been trying to get one for ages. I nearly left the store with a black one, but then remembered everything I've been learning from you since watching your great channel. So proud of myself. I left the shop without making that unnecessary purchase.
I discovered mine a few years ago. It's by Wacoal and I have lived for years with 2 regular bras (and a couple sports bras). The quality is amazing but they're not often in regular stores. Also, they have a line geared towards young women and there is a substantial quality difference.
You're right, I've learned from you, it is about reframing my Mindset. I still learn from you everytime "we are together". You've helped me so much to love my clothes. Try new things. See my clothes as the clothes others I admire are wearing.
Such great advice Alyssa! I recently spent some time trying on different outfit combos for some of my less used clothing. It was a wonderful way to spark my creativity and find a number of new outfits to wear. Thanks so much for what you do! 💚💚💚
Alyssa, your advice and philosophy of re-framing how we view our clothes and thinking more creatively is so helpful and really fun. I’ve been wearing items that I considered letting go, even though I really liked them because I wasn’t wearing them. Now I have all these ‘new’ clothes to ‘play’ with. I love it.
My mother and Aunt kind of hammered into me that when I buy a new piece to consider what it could be worn with in my existing wardrobe and the quality. If nothing or poor quality then it was not a good buy. This has stood me in very good stead and I have items still that are many years old, still good and relevant
I like the idea of preparing for special events so you don’t end up buying something you don’t like. Also, matching things with what you have. I have a lot of choir clothes. Black and white or all black. So I can wear some of these things for other events. Or mix and match them.
👍🏻😂I imagine you asking shoppers in the boutique: "What do you already have in your closet?" Must have caught them totally off guard! And when they recovered from the shock the question generated, they run away with guilt (that despite having a closet full of clothes they still want more)!
Your videos are always an inspiration to appreciate and care for the things I already have. I try to keep my closet edited to only items I absolutely love. Sometimes it’s hard to determine whether I really want to keep something in my closet or donate it. Whenever that happens, I’ll put the item on and style it a few different ways. If I’m not convinced that it’s something I want to keep, I’ll take it off and put on a similar piece that I love and feel fabulous in. Suddenly it will become very apparent why that first piece isn’t quite working for me and makes it so much easier to decide to let go of it.
I actually love when one of my staples becomes a basic! I agree with the idea of taking care of clothing. I actually think that if women would iron or steam their clothes they would wear them more often. A wrinkle free item looks like new! If I go second hand shopping (I go less often to minimize the temptations) at least I keep in mind the shapes, colours that flatter me and buy what I wear more often (like pants or tee shape tops...)
Great ideas! I definitely need to plan ahead but instead, when I’m getting dressed to go somewhere and I feel like I don’t have anything to wear, I write down what the event is and what I think the perfect outfit would be so I can start looking for it for next time. That way I’m buying for events that I actually go to and not random pieces that look cute but I wouldn’t end up wearing.
Taking fashion seriously.. the best moto I will adopt. Love your style adaptation, your explanations, your indepth knowledge of fashion and personal style is very high. Thank you for sharing this with the larger community.
I've made a few or more bad purchases on impulse over the years but as you suggested here when it comes to 'event' dressing I have the items in my closet now that I bought when not pressured that will work for virtually any occasion and I will wear them again . Focusing on a colour palette and avoiding those colours that don't go with anything has helped me shop better . I would describe my daily style as smart casual as I prefer tailored looks so realizing that some bohemian outfit that might momentarily send me into shopping fever is wrong wrong wrong for me .
Hi from Vancouver! This was great! What timing, too; this evening I moved my "obvious summer" clothes to the box under the bed. It was fun to go through everything in the closet, try most of it on, really see what's in that closet for the Fall/Winter ahead. There were a couple summer things that I've had for a long time that I realized I became bored with them, yet I decided to put them in storage (instead of give-away box) because in the past I somehow knew something was a good item - and when I ignored that feeling and got rid of it, I missed it a lot the next season. So I give them a break, and a few seasons later they are "new" again. Something that thrills me is when I buy just one new item that "counts" - I'm looking at combat boots right now - I realize that one new addition changes EVERYTHING in my closet. So, play and plot with what you have, and buy something "new" thoughtfully. When I buy those boots I'm going to have to try them on with everything in my closet again, haha. SO excited. :)
Great to see you wearing an outfit from one of your recent Shop Your Closets! I'd like to know what you think about "tweaking". You don't mention it in this video, but I wonder if sometimes one of the reasons we don't love our clothes is because we haven't taken the time to notice what adjustments could be made to it: for example, that a hemline is 2inches too long to be truly flattering, or that if the buttons on the *insert garment here* were swapped, then it'd work better with what we're pairing it with?!
I think shopping with a list is great, but also sometimes trying something unexpected on and loving it is an amazing experience. If you can think about the 5 ways to style it in your existing wardrobe that “surprise” item can bring so much joy.
Great advice. I have a notebook, so when I swap my clothes around seasonally, I can see what gaps I found last year. I also make notes on good and bad purchases, to guide me and stop me from repeat mistakes.
I find it difficult to actually find what I’m looking for when shopping for clothes. Print tops seem to prevail vs solid colors plus the cuts are often not suited to my preferred style. So when I do find something I like that actually feels and looks good, I’m amazed. Plus many fashion trends are so not me and they can be pervasive, like everywhere I go, that’s what I’ll see. Being a petite person in my 50s, the garment industry overall doesn’t cater to my size or aesthetic. I really enjoy your videos; I’m so glad I found you! I was happily surprised that your last name was Beltempo. That is my maiden name with just two differences my father made to it: Bel-Tempo. Nice to connect! ☺️🙌👚👖
I really enjoyed this video. Your tips really spoke to my own misguided perception of my wardrobe: I want you to know that you have been very instrumental to my change in mindset. I really enjoy your weekly videos and you are making a difference.
I honestly have to say that you've made a lasting impact on me when it comes to becoming more mindful of my shopping habits, Alyssa. I used to be someone who would always shop out of boredom or impulse, and while I'm not perfect by any means, I feel like my style now is more defined than it was when I was eighteen. It's kind of an interesting thing how so many people continue to undermine the psychological effects that fashion and style have on some of us and dismiss this subject simply because of what's being projected in the mainstream light. Style is subjective, so wear what makes you feel good, and if you don't feel good, then what can work on to help better yourself mentally/emotionally?
YES. Amy - you hit the nail on the head with those questions at the end. Thank you so much for sharing this - it is so encouraging to hear and i'm very grateful to be part of your journey! xx
Alyssa, is there a de-pilling comb you can recommend, and could you possibly make a video on how to use it (and how to steam clothes and everything else)?
Perfect information as always. I have never written a list when I go shopping but I will be doing from now on. The simple idea of thinking why I like a piece I have already got.. How useful that is too. Not buying a couple of new pieces and expecting them to work together straight away but add to something I already own. I wish I had done that before also. I tend to buy a jumper and top and then thinking "they do not match or go together" I could have worked that so differently. Thank you so very much for these useful tips.
I can only do 1% orange at a push. I'm olive skinned very dark hair tall Hazel eyes. Love this kind of content. I have a go to white ribbed skirt. Husband loves it. Which is just as well. 😂 Best tip so far. Breathing room while maintaining shape. Brilliant content.
I totally agree with making your clothes more appealing by caring/ironing or steaming items. I don't have an 'ironing pile' as I iron or steam as I wash items. Takes no time really and I can grab and go straight away without the "oh I can't wear that, I need to iron/steam it first" 😩 When I do have a few items from a larger wash I will use the ironing time to watch a program/movie 😆 Also I have used my existing wardrobe items as a template. I have replaced regularly worn items (of lesser quality) with the same better quality items, ie with cashmere, silk etc. It's taken time but it's been a great exercise. I rarely need to shop for clothing anymore. Still struggling with my shoe addiction...but am making progress there 😁 💗
Alyssa also most of my previous jobs, we're in jean brand boutique. A lot of my creative skills came to dress a dummy, but in my real time, I bechamel clueless with garments, that I have in my closet already😬
The biggest mindset change about clothing that I've found is this "Love God and people, use and enjoy things". This puts clothing in proper perspective.
The style descriptors idea is really fun. I might actually use post its to describe what I invision my style to be, and reference them while I plan my work outfits for the week.(something I've really been enjoying)
I started shopping with a list and it makes a huge different. Especially in the thrift stores. I’m slowly checking off my items and working on primarily second hand from thrift stores, the real real and poshmark. I’ve found some great finds. I’ve also added some brand new items but it’s usually basics like t-shirts, tanks, and denim. Denim Is tough for me second hand due to my sizing. So unfortunately I’ve had to purchase new but only when I have too. I’ve bought two pairs of jeans over the last 4 years. Oh… I did replace a favorite pair on poshmark. Found my favorite pair in my size and it worked out great! Blazers I’m only purchasing at thrift stores and focusing on vintage 70s and 90s styles since I’ve found they are my favorite style and fit me the best.
I used to shop with 'I want something new!' mentality. There was no list, I just went on the hunt for 'something'! The past two years have been NO NEW BUY and LOW BUY so I have stopped doing that. I still have a looong way to go, but shopping my closet is fun and satisfying. I have made a lot of good choices over the years, cause I love and wear a lot of it(donating or selling what I don't)...but there is just too much in my wardrobe. More and more, dresses are my heroes!
Sometimes I get stuck trying on clothes from my closet for a couple hours. I start to play dress up and put random stuff together that most of the time looks funny but sometimes it looks amazing and I get so happy it feels like I just found some buried treasure lmao. Seriously though, it's addicting.
I have been learning so much with your videos. I hear your advice in my head when I go shopping. I buy less, buy second hand. And I have even customized items and have had clothing tailored. Thank you so much 😘😘😘😘
You're so right!!! Now it's the putting it into practice... 😬 BTW I so so love your outfit today. I can recreate it in black so I will try it out, but those colors on you ... So beautiful.
Hi Alyssa, Wonderful points - I haven’t always asked questions of my wants versus needs - how they work in my current closet - but I certainly do so now - your tips are helpful - I love my closet and always consider my hero pieces and colours I love when shopping - Cheers!!!
Thank you! I love your videos. I ordered the watch you had a discount code for it is perfect, it was exactly what I was looking for it without having to spend time looking. This pandemic has definitely helped curb my impulse buying. Sadly haven’t had to many places to need to put cute outfits together. Going to go through and put some outfit ideas together so when something comes up I will be read!
My descriptors change from day to day. The best I can say is “Grace Kelly” since she also tended to chang what she was feeling from day to day and reflected that in her wardrobe.
Great advice, as always! Thank you Alyssa.🍂 Love it when you tackle the emotional and psychological reasons for our shopping behaviours. Right on! Hope you enjoy this beautiful weather. How lucky are we! 👍🥰Have a super week and big hugs! 🍁🥰💖

You tapped into something I would love to know more about: long term care of your clothing and accessories. I noticed you removing pills from your sweaters. How often do you do that? What is your favorite method? How do you care for leather pieces? Do you do anything special to the clothes you might pack away for a season? Or to them when you take them out of seasonal storage? (Maybe you have done a video on this already? I'm new here!) Thanks!
hey Amy! Welcome!:) I've done a video on it here: ruclips.net/video/sv2yXClp-bk/видео.html but you asked some extra questions which are great! I'll try and do another video on this topic and address additional q's :)
I love everything I have in my closet! I wear everything!!! Maybe because I have moved so much my clothes are always there and everything matches with the rest, even when walking the dog! 🤣🤣
Hi Alyssa!! Could you do a video on Staples (STARS) vs Basics? I went back and watched your Part 1 video in which you invited your viewers to request such a video!! 💜 THANK YOU for considering 🙏🏾🌹
I just started following you. Have been a personal shopper and a real estate broker. I love your personal style. Where did you get the slip skirt you wear.
I can relate, buying a new piece and later on finding out that it's mismatch with other existing clothes in the wardrobe. Due to which, I don't wear that pieces at all.
Hello Alyssa, really appreciate your videos. I have one question through, what is the appropriate/adequate closet size for a slow fashion follower? I really struggle with the amount of clothes I own..
If impulse/mindless/social/hobby shopping stopped, thousands of stores would close. Just like most bars would close if only those *not* addicted to alcohol went to the bars. I, too, worked in a boutique for 2 years (and in bars for many, many more). I started out asking customers what they were on the hunt for, but soon realized the better approach (for the store) was to describe our vibe/style, size them up, then point out a few things to highlight my description and subtly suggest. Yikes, but it worked.
Every time I do some shopping, I screenshot that piece from the brand's website so that I keep a virtual wardrobe. It works for matching things but the final decision comes after I try the outfit for real.
Ultimately I feel that confortable shoes make me feel really better. When I say confortable, I mean really confortable, that make me feel like dancing on them... 😊
I found a nice beige sweater as I need and as you said I bought it it was on my list but…was so itchy I tried it 10 minutes and I felt so In comfortable…before I would have ´´ stick on it’ because i love the model and the color but now I know with your influence that the chance I keep it in the wardrobe without wearing it is 99,9% so I went back to the store and forgot about it. I looked in my drawers to keep and other one not the color I wanted but near of and I decided not to buy !
Hi Beth! I'm sorry if this was was misleading! I meant the part 1 video to this where I go over the concept briefly - that one is in the description box. Still working on the basics vs. staples vid! xx
I know you've done this before in other parts of your videos (like your Pinterest inspiration or Style Icons one) but I'd love to see a video on style descriptors and examples. Perhaps you already did that though....

Washing clothes in mesh lingerie bags and not drying them in the dryer have made a huge difference in how long my clothes last and how they look
I barely ever put my clothes in the dryer, unless i am super rushed and have no other clothes
+1 I had no idea and I learned to do this from my last partner. I rarely have to replace anything now, even thrift/cheaper pieces
i've never used a dryer to dry my clothes is this a north american thing bc here in europe most people rarely use dryers
Yes! This is a great method - I mention this in my decluttering video:)
I agree! A similar tip I heard: when you purge, look at the labels. If there appear to be many items from one shop, stop shopping there. Sadly, I followed this tip after finding most of my selling/donates were coming from one boutique. Saved me time and money, but oh do I miss that shop...
I also do this with colors. I have a certain palette I stay within. And for colors that don't flatter me, I don't give them a second look.
Yes, I always like knowing what is in my closet first! That way I know of what I'm buying will pair with something.
Thank you so much for sharing this encouraging story and the channel, it really means a lot. xx
Thank you for speaking against fast fashion! I haven’t purchased any work clothes for 2 years thanks to your shop you closet ideas
YES. Absolutely Gina! It took me a while to figure this out! lol
I left the shop without making that unnecessary purchase.
oh my gosh! What a great feeling :) Thank you for sharing Ieva = honoured to be a part of your journey! xx
I discovered mine a few years ago. It's by Wacoal and I have lived for years with 2 regular bras (and a couple sports bras). The quality is amazing but they're not often in regular stores. Also, they have a line geared towards young women and there is a substantial quality difference.
@@emilysha418 thank you for recommendation. I shall look into it 😊
You're right, I've learned from you, it is about reframing my Mindset.
That's amazing to hear!
I love it.
Very helpful! Thank you. Reasuring and encouraging to spend some time putting outfits together with items you already have. Fun 'me' time too.
My mother and Aunt kind of hammered into me that when I buy a new piece to consider what it could be worn with in my existing wardrobe and the quality. If nothing or poor quality then it was not a good buy. This has stood me in very good stead and I have items still that are many years old, still good and relevant
The wisdom of mothers and aunts...
I like the idea of preparing for special events so you don’t end up buying something you don’t like. Also, matching things with what you have. I have a lot of choir clothes. Black and white or all black. So I can wear some of these things for other events. Or mix and match them.
YOU are my wardrobe star, Alyssa! The way you put clothes together is just inspiring.
👍🏻😂I imagine you asking shoppers in the boutique: "What do you already have in your closet?" Must have caught them totally off guard! And when they recovered from the shock the question generated, they run away with guilt (that despite having a closet full of clothes they still want more)!
What a funny comment. So true. I WISH sales assistants were trained in styling instead of being salesmen.
I totally agree my steamer is one of the best things I bought! A quick steam and everything looks brand new!
SO excited. :)
yes to all of this! I love that you focus on one new cool piece:) It really can make all the difference! xx
YES. I'm working on a video that touches on this!
@@AlyssaBeltempo Oh, I look forward to it!
Great video where you remember us the importance of slow fashion.
I really enjoyed this video. Your tips really spoke to my own misguided perception of my wardrobe: I want you to know that you have been very instrumental to my change in mindset. I really enjoy your weekly videos and you are making a difference.
Thank you for the encouragement and sharing Ana it means a lot :)
So glad you find them helpful!!
Thank you for sharing Toni!
This is lovely. Reminds me of the saying, "People first, then money, then things". I like yours better. 😊
But also, I really, really enjoy your work, Alyssa, and because of that. I really, really enjoy my clothing!
The style descriptors idea is really fun. I might actually use post its to describe what I invision my style to be, and reference them while I plan my work outfits for the week.(something I've really been enjoying)
Oooh love that you're planning your work outfits :)
I really appreciate your vids! You offer applicable common sense on a topic that is so emotionally charged!
Looking forward to your next.
thank you Doris!
Once I started to buy quality clothing now I have for any occasion ♥️♥️
I have been learning so much with your videos. I hear your advice in my head when I go shopping. I buy less, buy second hand. And I have even customized items and have had clothing tailored. Thank you so much 😘😘😘😘
This is so insightful. Especially about pairing experimental or trends with basics
Great ways to think about breaking the fashion rules!
You're so right!!! Now it's the putting it into practice... 😬 BTW I so so love your outfit today. I can recreate it in black so I will try it out, but those colors on you ... So beautiful.
You really help us gals to how to shop or shop your closet before buying random stuff! TY! ❤️
Hi Alyssa,
Wonderful points - I haven’t always asked questions of my wants versus needs - how they work in my current closet - but I certainly do so now - your tips are helpful - I love my closet and always consider my hero pieces and colours I love when shopping - Cheers!!!
Glad you found it helpful!
Not even 5 minutes in and I’ve already subscribed! I love your message.
I really enjoyed this video, it made me realise that when I'm in shops now your voice is in my ear! 😆
Hahhaha amazing :)
On target as always! Loved the workshop, yesterday and I am really looking forward to October's workshop. SO MUCH FUN!
thank you so much Lisa!! It is always a pleasure to have you! xx
This duo of videos is wonderful. Thanks
This was so incredibly helpful! Thank you for all you do!
Yay! So glad you liked it!
My descriptors change from day to day. The best I can say is “Grace Kelly” since she also tended to chang what she was feeling from day to day and reflected that in her wardrobe.
Bravo 👏 👏 👏 I know I needed this video. THANKS!
I love your silk skirt, I've been looking for a silk skirt in a warm gold or cream color 🥰
Great advice, as always! Thank you Alyssa.🍂 Love it when you tackle the emotional and psychological reasons for our shopping behaviours. Right on! Hope you enjoy this beautiful weather. How lucky are we! 👍🥰Have a super week and big hugs! 🍁🥰💖
Yes! Your book is such an integral part in changing mindsets! I'm so glad you liked the video! Thank you for watching and I hope you are enjoying the fall colours! xx
Thanks so much your advice is absolutely priceless!!
I love your videos, they’re so inspiring.
I love everything I have in my closet! I wear everything!!! Maybe because I have moved so much my clothes are always there and everything matches with the rest, even when walking the dog! 🤣🤣
You are totally right!
Hi Alyssa!! Could you do a video on Staples (STARS) vs Basics?
I went back and watched your Part 1 video in which you invited your viewers to request such a video!! 💜
THANK YOU for considering 🙏🏾🌹
Yes!! It's coming! ❤️🙏
@@AlyssaBeltempo THANK YOU Sooooooo VERY MUCH 🙏🏾🌹
Wow! This video was so helpful! Thanks Alyssa 💗
You're so welcome!
I just started following you. Have been a personal shopper and a real estate broker. I love your personal style. Where did you get the slip skirt you wear.
Very useful info and great advice as always! 😊 thanks
Very helpful. Thank you
Always such amazing advice…you are a joy to watch…and I think would make such a fabulous friend! Is it odd that I’ve come to think of you that way? 🙈
haha not at all I consider everyone in this community my friend, honestly. it is such a pleasure to chat and communicate here:)
Such great advice! And I love your style
Thank you Courtney!
I really recommend trying a pill remover rather than using a cashmere comb - I find the results are better and easier to achieve ❤️👌🏼
Thank you for mentioning our awful consumption habit. That's very important!
yes maam! xx
YES - painful feet are tough to feel stylish in!
Yep! Most of my clothes I dont want to even put on because they are wrinkled when I pull them out.. its discouraging
Loved this video, found it so helpful and informative. Can you tell me where your snake ring is from? Is it solid gold? 😅
Hi Tia! Thank you! It's Mejuri :) not solid gold but I've had it for several years now and it's holding up very well!
Always helpful and always inspiring!!XXOO
This is such a helpful video and I know that I need to practice these things.
So glad you found it helpful:)
I love your videos! My compliment! 💖
thank you Lara! xx
THANKS!!!!
Alyssa, I didn't see the link for Staples vs. Basics in the video, I can't find it in your list of videos either. Can you help?
Thank you
Very informative
Love you Alyssa!
Hi Bella I’m trying to get back in a certain style I love off white camel and black and navy. I’m trying to built a capsule wardrobe with those colors. Did you guys move again Bella🙋🏻♀️❤️
Ciao Susan! Thank you for joining in! Those are beautiful colours. We will be temporarily relocating for two months! :)
