I think the movie implies that Bruce thinks if he didn't stop being Batman to Mary Andrea he could've saved her father and feels personally responsible, as if his parents punished him for being happy

@@xshockz Nah, new rockstars did him, Tommy, Whitney and Anna super dirty and fired them without notice a few months back. Paul, champ that he is, swooped in and hired him at HS before someone else could. MT also has another channel/podcast with Whitney and Tommy now called Guardians of the Palaxy

He's back on NR now because he was the only one of them to go back and accept New Rockstars terms to sign a new contract as an independent contractor with less pay and no health benefits rather than as a full time member with benefits. And he just announced a week or so ago that he was moving back to New York and will be appearing even less on NR now.
I think the thing that made Batman here great is that he never found out who killed his parents, which prevented him from creating a much simpler mantra of directing his revenge at one person but instead declaring a much more general war against crime. Batman loses something when he is in the god-complex mode of the comics, but the blank spots in his knowledge make his crusade seem much more open-ended and general. He was never going to find the answers he was looking for, but he would improve so many people's lives by clearing up crime. This contrasts nicely against Andrea, who knew precisely who killed her father and spent the entire movie directing her wrath against a very narrow band of people. Her mission had a definite end goal, and, as such, she was just another masked fanatic who cut a bloody path through Gotham; once she was gone, it would be just business as usual.
I didn't know about this movie when it was in theaters originally. I'd seen it on video of course, but I was very happy to see it in theaters when it returned for the 25th anniversary a few years ago, and it was so much fun to see it on the big screen.

It makes a lot of sense that Hans Zimmer had a role in the music of this movie. In the scene where Bruce is confronting the truck thieves in his ski mask, there's a moment where he's on the truck and trying to take out the driver basically. In that score, it has some elements that sound so similar to that of The Dark Knight. I noticed it in a watch through a long long time ago, so it makes sense to me now why it sounded so similar.

It's so funny running into this. I'm in the middle of watching it, but being a single father with two jobs, I can't actually sit down and watch a whole movie in 1 setting. The thing about the meteor was that is how they seeded new planets and spread. So i believe the meteor is truly from the bugs but was launched into a random direction and was pushed off course by the roger young and the Gov used this opportunity to rally troops and start a war.
This came out when I was like 12 and thought it was awsome because it was a full movie of Batman cartoons out on the WB channel which was channel 11 I think at the time for my area; did feel kind of drawn out watching it as a kid and I remember it didn’t really stick with me or peak my interests, the best Batman movies are Christopher Nolan and Tim Burton Batman’s in my opinion … the cartoons were great but not into the cartoon movies really
For me, batman: the animated series, plus everyone and everything connected to it (voice actors, music, villains, stories, overall mood and atmosphere) is THE quintessential batman! Conroy IS Batman, Hamill IS Joker and Zimbalist IS Alfred. When someone says batman, the animated sires is what pops to my mind.
I loved the twist that Joker was there years ago hanging out with the mob, but no one who he was since he was a nobody. there's a Phantasm reference in Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition.
RIP to the Greatest Batman to ever live, in one of the best portrayals ever shown. Classic movie. I, unfortunately didn't get a chance to see it in theaters though. We did rent it then eventually buy the VHS. BTAS and Mask of the Phantasm forever! It was also awesome how they tied in Mask into Justice League and Batman Beyond...that's all I'll say. I just finished that new Crisis on Infinite Earths Pt 1...and how I wished it was Kev as Batman. The actor they chose was just ok.

Then you realize who he is talking to and exemplifies the depth of his trauma, and you can't help but feel pity. The voicework, the animation, the decision to do it in the rain all were perfect choices. I posted my comment before I got to MT's discussion of it, I can see why Kevin Conroy liked it so much. I recall other scenes in comics at Bruce's parents' grave, but the voice in my head never conveyed the heartbreak Kevin Conroy was able to impart on the scene.
Love the addition of MT. Which I feel like adding a new person to an already existing (and successful) podcast generally doesn’t go as smoothly. Great video
When chrisopher nolan hear and listend to Batman mask of the phanstma he demanded to get hans Zimmerman on his soundtrack crew asap and was willing to pay any price for him. the results well Batman begains etc has one killer soundtrack to date. Hans also did the remake for tron 2 with the orignal soundtrack as well
I read she didn't finish him off immediately because she wanted to make the Joker suffer for what he did to her father, to FEEL that same fear and despair... except Joker is dead inside, there's nothing TO feel anything.. and she realizes that the hitman that killed her father is already dead.
This was such a surprise to see in my notifications but a very good one. Hope we get more MT covering the Dcau, one of the best superhero universes ever created. Would love to see coverage of the tomorrow-verse as well especially with the recently released crisis film
For some reason I feel as if this movie doesn't get the respect it should. Like, even though there's been a cult up-swelling in its popularity, this was platinum when it released!

With Kevin Conroy gone and Mark Hamill retiring as the voice of Joker, it truly is the end of an era. They had a great run, though.
