@kaidorade1317 A modder is releasing a "Batman Arkham Origins Reimagined" that looks like a proper remaster, and he already did the same with Asylum and City.
"Even as a VR game." VR games aren't inherently worse than flatscreen games. In fact, the gameplay and immersion is a lot better most of the time. The only thing they're really missing most of the time is budget and polish.
This game is good. it doesn't have to be compared to that disgusting mess to look good. The game perfectly translates the elements of a classic Arkham experience if anything it's a fine addition to the mythos I've seen the playthroughs.
I look at this game the same way I look at Asylum. Sure it isn’t perfect and has a few rough spots, but it’s the first attempt to bring Arkham to VR in an authentic way. Camouflage have already hinted that they are hoping to work on a sequel, so think of this as Camouflage’s Asylum. It’s their first attempt at an Arkham game, and it’s pretty damn good.
@@ContrastCopy In the most recent Q&A they said that they hoped this game sold well because they don’t want this to be their last Batman game. It’s nothing concrete, but the VR community really needs a staple franchise to finally legitimize it. I’m a die hard VR fan and would die to see an Arkham resurgence in VR.
@@HeavyMorals hearing this may make me buy the game even as someone who hasn't played any Arkham games, VR just needs more games in general, the only thing that partially pushes me away is the meta exclusivity, I own a quest 3, it is the best overall headset on the market rn, but I also own a PSVR2 I use on PC and I prefer it sometimes depending on the game, and it just sucks knowing that I won't be able to play it with that headset
I hope people start treating VR more seriously! It won't replace traditional gaming, but I think things like stealth and tight level design work really well in VR.
@@Drstrange3000did u see the live chat for the Arkham shadow premiere? All the chatters were clowns hating on it for being VR. I don't think it will be taken seriously any time soon, it's going to take time
@@Drstrange3000 I dismissed it as a gimmick but after seeing the passion from devs and respect they have for the mythos. Then seeing the game in action. I'll happily eat my words.
This game is a fine addition to the the arkham universe and it seems to perfectly translate all the beloved elements of the franchise. I'm eating my words because initially my response the game was one of dismissal "it's just another gimmicky game". Seeing the interviews and the respect the devs have for series convinced me and I'm not fault them for making a game for VR (it's what they specialize in). The hate largely came from Rocksteady's recent failure and hunger for a good DC games. These guys showed more respect to the mythos than the studio that created it.
Bro I'm so excited for this. Getting it for shadow mainly at first, then I'll move on to previously released games for the headset and utilize any game on my pc. Can't wait to develop my own things as well Only played the daredevil vr teaser at a verison store and some star wars game at dave and busters and I'm YEARNING for my own
I recently watched a buddy of mine play through the Vader Immortal series. I've played it myself, but I think I almost enjoyed watching someone else react to it even more. There are other Star Wars VR games, but I really enjoyed the Vader Immortal series. Using the force in VR feels incredible.
This and half life alyx are the best VR game overall I've ever played. I always think about how insane VR tech would be by now if the tech had took off and there was a billion dollar market instead of flat screen games. I think we'd be being close to unimaginable immersivness by now. Hopefully we'll get there in my lifetime
Loads of great experiences on Q3 so this is one of the cherries on top..as for the strap ...flip a baseball cap and wear it over the top..works great and it's free
I would've bought it by now if it was not Meta exclusive. I think at the very least these games should consider porting it to steamVR so that a majority of the VR headsets available could be used with it. As it stands, its another one that i will end up missing out on unfortunately. I will say Camoflauge have done a great job based on the footage i've seen. iron man vr was also a great game at the time minus the story.
My one personal deal-breaker is that it's exploration is more indoors, and not nearly as much outdoors over the city rooftops and streets. The first CGI teaser had me HOPING it would be like Arkham City/Knight in it's open world, but I'm guessing the headset couldn't handle that without a big graphical cutback.
@@Throbingkcoc The budget for this was through the roof for a Quest exclusive. But the open world design was likely due to the hardware, if they wanted to retain it's graphical quality.
your hooks are being misread with your wide and quick swings. that jolt to the side is causing that direction to be your input. slow down on the wind up or go for a cross jab.
Off topic: I absolutely disagree on a new entry "ruining" a previous entry. If an old entry was enjoyable before the new entry, then it's still good now. Even in the case of retcons, the term *retroactive continuity* admits it wasn't that way from the start, and so the old entry still works as originally intended. On topic: Great review! The developer interviews have been really selling me on buying the cheaper Meta Quest 3S ($300) because Shadow is just looking to be so quality and lovingly made. I looked on the Meta store and there seems to be a pretty swell collection of games on there. Shooters, melee/sword combat, traversal games, and even funny looking titles such as "Gorilla Tag" and "Hide the Corpse." I think I'm gonna take the plunge.
Just because something has a bad sequel doesn’t mean it ruins the original. That’s like saying suicide squad ruined Arkham games. And clearly it didn’t because you didn’t say that. Edit- further more please don’t start out a sponsored video like this, I feel like you trying to send the message that you are would be highly critical to the game if you didn’t like it. I’d much rather you just say “hey, this video is sponsored, so I’m gonna show off the game and talk about it” don’t try to make it a review. We get it. We would all take that deal. Just own it. Please.

You came out with the better headset for the long run. I haven't really looked in to the 3S, but I believe that one is more a less a slightly upgraded Quest 2. I don't think you will have any regrets with the 3.
It's not coming to PSVR2. The Quest 3s has sold 25,000 units in the last 5 day and will probably sell alot more this holiday season. This is a system seller and Meta isn't going to let that escape their grasp.
@@Throbingkcoc Counterpoint: Warner Bros like money and sales will slow eventually. You really think they aren't gonna port it the second the contract closes with Meta or the money dries up? Lol.
