I love love LOVE how these origins games arent afraid to get more obscure with their villain picks and references so much. Copperhead, Firefly, Lady Shiva, Anarky, but especially the references to BTAS stuff, like the phantasm easter egg in origins, the red claw reference in this, and Lock-Up being a main villain. Seeing all the cool original stuff Bruce Timm and co cooked up with that show that isnt just Harley Quinn for the 5,000,675,459th time is so exciting and I hope we see more of it in future batman adaptations. Praying we get to see Calender Woman or BabyDoll next, having missions where you go after Paige in holiday themed hostage rooms would actually be the coolest thing ever omfg.

i wasnt sure how much i cared about this vr game, but watching this gameplay, i apparently care a lot. this looks great. thanks a lot for making these vids. youre the best.
Odd that they changed the name from Matches to Irving Malone, but I guess that’s a nickname from the arson. Also that Rat with the batons was 100% Dick Grayson.
@@dylansharp8471 when Batman is in the Monarch Theater, he fights a rat in the projectionist booth. @@hasthehighground8560 Agreed. It seemed like a random name change to me. But based on the Chapter 2 walkthrough with Yamashiro always calling 'Matches' for his arson, I have a feel he adopts as the name from there. Either that or as a nickname like Irving "Matches" Malone.
God damn, I love the idea of making a game out of Batman going undercover at Blackgate. Really can’t wait to see how the rest of this plays out. It’s a small thing, but I like how they adjusted Boles’ backstory to make him a guard at Blackgate before Arkham reopened. The Asylum character bios said he was an Arkham security guard for 8 years, but Origins is set only 7.5 years before Asylum and it’s still months after that game before they actually get Arkham up and running. This is a neat little retcon to help smooth that over; just assume his first year or so was spent at Blackgate. Also love (what I assume is) the Year One reference with the “skiing injuries” excuse.
That line about "wanting to understand the criminals he fights" line reminds me of an idea shown in Batman Begins. To understand why people resort to crime in the first place.
I'm not trying to nitpick but did you mean Shadow takes place 7.5 years before Asylum? Because Origins takes place more so straight up 8 years before the latter according to official information. But yeah, it'd still be a shift from 8 to 7 years.

I love how much Matt Reeves' The Batman flim inspired how Arkham's batman evolved his suit after Origins. Batman media always influences other batman media. Nolans Batman Begins is why we have Batman Arkham Asylum to begin with.

@@jlev1028 Could be talking about either Donald Clough Cameron or Cameron Stewart, the ladder being more likely since the Easter egg is located in the same apartment where you meet Barbra, with Cameron Stewart having wrote issues of Batgirl comics in the past. I’m actually so damn excited. I ordered a new controller for my quest 3 just in time for it to be at my house the day the game releases. I’m not doing anything else over fall break dude. Literally pumped🦇🦇
😂😝
Could you imagine a horde mode for this game? Infinite ways of bad guys in first person. Damn that would be so insane!! Amazing video as always Arkham videos!!
I really appreciate how much you've immersed me into the story. Other channels that play it can't seem to get the settings right, don't explore the other choices, or put as much character into something as simple as hand gestures. Can't wait for the next video!
This is like, my first EVER vr game, and hell, chapter 1 was the most fun i had in my entire life. It was so immersive, action loaded, i FELT like batman. I WAS batman. i AM batman.
Already love the Batman and Barbra dynamic
Same. Its another side of Arkham Batman, specifically Roger Craig Smith's portrayal, being a bit of an older brother/uncle to Barbara.
Never in my life have I wanted to find extra 300 buckurinos this bad
The best part about this plathrough is that we get to Batman Arkham Videos actually be the Batman.
Just watching this and I'm getting that "Fuck Yeah, I'm Batman" feeling, and I haven't even played the game.
Same. Especially because of how he embodies Batman physically, both in combat and the little gestures.
@@themadtitan7603 It would be funny if he was actually Batman and he was taking a break to fight crime in real life to then fight crime, but in VR.
When he looked in the mirror at the start I was like "are they doing what I think they're doing?" and when he spoke I was like "the legends really did it, it's Matches (Irving) Malone!" it's such a cool addition of Bat-lore that I was hoping to see in an Arkham game.

i wasnt sure how much i cared about this vr game, but watching this gameplay, i apparently care a lot. this looks great. thanks a lot for making these vids. youre the best.
Odd that they changed the name from Matches to Irving Malone, but I guess that’s a nickname from the arson.
Also that Rat with the batons was 100% Dick Grayson.
Come again?
@@dylansharp8471 I’m not proud of Dick at this moment, but I’m sure by the end of the game I will be.
@@hasthehighground8560
Where was the Rat with the baton that might be Dick?
And what a name from the Arson?
@@dylansharp8471 when Batman is in the Monarch Theater, he fights a rat in the projectionist booth. He’s quick, agile, has lines of dialogue with him, uses batons exactly like Nightwing does, and he has dark hair.
Also, in Robin Year One, after Batman fires Dick because he’s injured, Dick runs away and joins Shrike in a small group of child assassins.
@@leithaziz2716 Same. It's like certain aspects of Batman's development that usually form before he dons the cape are extended out to his first few years. Like his sympathy for criminals, learning to control his anger, & trying to understand the criminal mind.
@@themadtitan7603 Origins is 7.5 before Asylum:
Origins is set on Christmas Eve of year two (given in-game).
Knight is set 10 years after Origins, on Halloween, making it year twelve (given in-game).
Knight is set 9 months after the cremation of Joker (stated in-game), placing City in late December of year eleven or early January of year twelve.
City is set 18 months after Asylum (stated multiple times in game), thus setting Asylum in the summer of year ten.
The difference between Christmas Eve of year two and summer of year ten would be seven and a half years.
@@NicBrandon Oh, I know the timeline details. Frankly, I just wasn't sure if you consider Asylum to be set in Summer like some don't (saying it takes place in Fall) so I wanted to know where you stand on its timeline there that led you to 7.5. Or if perhaps you misspoke & meant Shadow as it takes place six months later.
Thanks for clarifying & I'm with you on the 7.5 estimate roughly (just dependent for me on if AA takes place in July or August) & again, so with the one year less than what Asylum states his servicing time to be.
It's sooo nice seeing Batman Arkham videos return after all these years thank you man

I love how much Matt Reeves' The Batman flim inspired how Arkham's batman evolved his suit after Origins.
Batman media always influences other batman media. Nolans Batman Begins is why we have Batman Arkham Asylum to begin with.
Actually I think the reason we have that game is because of A Serious House on a Serious Earth, which is basically a Batman horror story where he goes around Arkham Asylum dealing with the villains and his own mental health. It also has the writings of Amadeus Arkham too.
This is something Caboose brought up in a live but the Rat at 1:38:16 with the way he’s holding those pieces of wood, along with the fact that he’s the only character who was able to block/dodge your attacks… could this be a certain soon to be boy wonder?

@@jlev1028 Could be talking about either Donald Clough Cameron or Cameron Stewart, the ladder being more likely since the Easter egg is located in the same apartment where you meet Barbra, with Cameron Stewart having wrote issues of Batgirl comics in the past.
