- My 1985 Iroc-Z LS3/T56 swapped 3rd gen Camaro powered by Fitech ultimate LS. This LS swap build has turned out really nice and is high quality. What a blast these 3rd gens are with a decent power plant installed into them. Built not bought and lots of good information in this video about ls swaps. Let me know any questions you have always willing to help out fellow gearheads. Got the wiper motor idea from @lsXmatt Also totally botched my push rod length specs lol. I ran 7.400 on intake and 7.375 on exhaust.
@Scwoodsy
@umiperformance Авто/Мото
Very nice you and Matt have two of the best 3rd gens I've seen.
Thanks Man I appreciate that. I remember watching @LSXMatts videos for motivation on my build.
Y love it the cars camaro z28 92 is m'y favorite
This is hands down one of the cleanest builds I’ve ever seen
Thanks I appreciate that.
That is a nice clean install! I like the subtly behind the build. Its not over the top like some builds and it sounds and looks like something you can enjoy daily driving.
Thanks appreciate the comment. It's definitely a fun car you can daily I drive it to work all the time when the weather's nice.
Love the build bro🤝 Probably the best I’ve seen🏁
Appreciate that Man.
I love the clean stock look you went for and that red sets it off perfectly loving the Camaro fam
Thanks man appreciate it.
@@Brandon-LSX Your Welcome
Fantastic work!!
saving up for one now, definitely one of my dream builds
This car looks and sounds amazing!!
Awesome content, POV Startup and Inside Camera is 🔥
LOVE THE TRAC SPEC HOOD VENTS...
Man, that thing is getting it. Super clean build 👌
Beautiful car and awesome build!
I like it. You did great work.
Man, this really helps give me motivation to try and finish mine.
My first camaro got totalled due to a drunk driver and I ended up getting pushed off the road into a bolder in 2018. Since then, I have been slowly trying to restore a replacement. My profile picture is my current car. The desire to rush everything and cut every corner that I can is strong. After watching your video, which I found from your brake upgrade video, I am feeling better about slowing back down.
Very nice I had an 87 purchased brand new boy do I wish I'd kept it,especially after seeing you and LX MATS Camaro both very nice 👍🏾
Definitely very nice. Can't wait to finish mine
Thanks
Great Build love it
Your Third Gen turn out real nice, Thanks for sharing
Anytime I appreciate the support.
Looking good man! Keep up the good work
Thanks man looking forward to getting this thing out this season.
About 9 years ago when I became homeowner I had to give up my 91 Z28 LT1 swap. Shout out to caligeneralz cc. Couldn't handle both. Clean IROC man. Beautiful 😍
Thanks almost had to do the same thing but luckily managed to keep it.
Beautiful car, the under-hood is perfection, just found you. I have been watching LSXMAtt for some time as well. I am starting my swap / upgrade this year finally on 83 Z28. yours and Matt's etc. videos, are a huge help. Cheers!
Thanks man I appreciate it. Yes @LSXMatt has been a big motivation on my build.
@@Brandon-LSX As always, devils in the details. Maybe i missed it, but did your 4th gen brake assembly simply bolt up to the firewall? Lastly, did your car have the metric brake lines fittings or still SAE? And how big a difference is the adjustable proportioning valve? Thanks.
Yes it is. It bolted right to the firewall. I had the old 6mm metric lines ended up running and new brakeline to the rear with adapters.
@@Brandon-LSX Very good, appreciate the info.
Excellent build!!!
Thanks
Great looking car love the swap when done on the right cars!
Thanks
engine bay looks fantastic, better than factory. Super clean. Bravo
Thanks.
Beautiful beautiful
sweet ride!
Beautifully done
Thank you.
Very Nice lookin Iroc man, you did a really good job!
Thanks appreciate that.
👍🏾👊🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 engine bay looks amazing
A perfect upgreat for the iroc, red just match up with iroc, very good video, keep it up, take a good care the iroc, iroc it's a icon
I searched for a 3 Gen Z or a ‘92 Firebird with the TPI 5.O. ……with a stick. Damn near impossible. I like your approach. Clean and powerful.
Thanks appreciate it. I too searched high and low for a stick Iroc-Z gave up and bought a auto. Then swapped in a t56 lol
Sweet ride! Cheers from one MN 3rd gen owner to another!
Thanks man appreciate the local support. Have you checked out Minnesota Fbodys page on FB yet great group of local guys.
AWESOME BUILD !!!!!!!!!
Thanks
Nice getting ls3 in my 89 iroc right now probably will be done in 2 weeks
Absolutely Beautiful
Thanks
Nasty build I love it I love it I love it. Clean
Yeah top shelf, great job!
Thanks I appreciate that.
Looks awesome. Looking forward to seeing some more videos. Love to see what it does on a dyno.
Thanks same here. This season there's a huge car show called Street Machines. They have a mobile dyno and auto cross event there can't wait to check it out this season.
@@Brandon-LSX I hope you do some videos there.
@@shaunmccuin5954 Definitely will.
Beautiful beast 👌🏽
Thanks Man.
Now that is how a 3rd gen should look these days. Amazing! This was my first car ever and i would love to do this in a few years. Incredible build.
Thank you.
@@Brandon-LSX subscribed so i can see what else you do to it.
It’s still doesn’t have the right low stance!
I can never do this Sick build on my 89' Camaro RS. Currently restoring my 70' Firebird.
Thanks man Anyone can do a build like this it just takes time and patience and lots of reading on the forums lol.
Sick build dude
Thanks man.
Absolutely love it 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks man appreciate it.
Hell yeah that’s awesome 😎
Looks great!
Thanks
Clean affff 😍
Oh snap im in mpls. I always get excited when I hear car guys live in minnesota. Would love to see this car around.
I'm always around at the shows in summer. Coon rapids cruise and street machines.
Great build brother! Very well detailed and clean. Keep up the good work, it has paid off. This was my plans for my ‘86 Iroc but, ended up selling it to a friend. At least is still know where it is. Lol
Appreciate it man. This first swap was pretty messy when I dropped in the 5.3L. Then I slowly started redoing everything and took my time with the small details and it turned out pretty nice.
@@Brandon-LSX that’s a understatement.
Wow and you picked the only color a third gen should be🔥
Thanks.
Amen to that
Black too
One awesome build man,I love it,I wish I could find a big glossy I would frame it and hang it I'm the man cave I'm getting ready to build again one awesome job
Thanks man I appreciate that.
definitely one of the cleanest ls swaps ive seen for a 3rd gen, planning on doing the same to mine, I hope it looks half as good as yours, If you could do a vid on your gage setup and how you did it I would love that. the stock ones in my car are very faulty and I want to make my interior look like its from a new age such as yours. also what type of seats do you have?
Appreciate that man 💯I'll do a follow-up vid going into more details about the build and swap components here soon.
Very nice!!!
Thanks
Very nice, I love the wheels too. I used to have a 91 Z28 5.7 back in the day, couple of 5.0 IROCs too, but I really want another black 91-92 Z28 with a LS7/T56, but any LS really would be fine even a 6.0 or 5.3
Thanks yeah I would love to do a LS7 swap on one.
Fellow IROC owner of a 89 keep up the good work man.
Thanks man Irocs are awesome 👌
Yes they are man, but we are doing our part keeping them alive. Keep the videos coming and one day I will do some videos as well.
@@lateroc2955 Well said be sure to tag be when you do.
@@Brandon-LSX I will brother thanks
Nice ride!
Thanks
Nice I have a 85 Iroc Z28 t-top I have to restore. Hopefully I be able to start on next year.
Nice man get that beauty going. You won't regret it.
Nice 3rd gen, very clean. I have a 84 Z/28 with just 19k on the odometer. I have a all aluminum Ls1 waiting in the wings, just need the time to start working on it. Keep up the good work and videos.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Man 19k miles that is low. I bet that car is mint.
@@Brandon-LSX it has been inside all of its life, I don't know if it has even been rained on, my dad bought it for my mom and she just didn't like it, so it set in the garage until her passing and I received it, an it still sets in the garage, no dents or paint chips, so I am very excited to own this fine ride.
That's quite the story right there. Sorry to hear about your mom's passing. That car sounds like it pretty special you'll have to get some video's of it and tag me in them.
Love the car! Looks so clean
It's nice to hear that after the many hours invested thanks.
@@Brandon-LSX you earned it man! I'd love to get my hands on an iroc and give it the treatment you have given yours.
It's definitely been a labor of love but that's what makes it enjoyable.
@@Brandon-LSX blood, sweat, and elbow grease.
proof that money can and does buy happiness. Id love to put $30,000 into my $5,000 1986 z28. But, you know. Priorities......
How is it going 2 years later?
That engine bay is divine
Thanks
Love the build. We need to find you a new dash top. She lookin sharp.
Yes I definitely need a few interior pieces to finish it off blew the budget on go fast parts lol.
Looks great! Gives me ideas for my 87 transam.
Thanks man. That's exactly what I did got some good ideas from other builds and picked out the things I liked.
Nice 3rd gen I like these way more than the new camaros
Y love it the cars is m'y favorite camaro z28
One bad ride ❤
Nice build. Bought a new third Gen, same color, same rattle tops. Was kind of disappointed in that car. This is what I always wanted in mine. Good job.
Thanks I know what you mean. These cars stock just don't do it for me. Now add a decent power plant and some handling upgrades it's a whole different animal.
Like how you stuck with the stock look. I know what a good dose of power and some handling up grades would do for this car. Thanks
Nice ride. Where did you get the cover for the stock air intake ?
If I were to build a third gen I would build one just like that awesome Camaro
Thanks man appreciate it.
I had an 87 IROC that was the same red as yours. Mine had the tan interior with the "gold" factory wheels and decals. Kick myself in the ass for selling it back in 2000. Now they are worth good money. Back in the day, you could get a nice one for like 5 grand. These days shitty ones are like 10k.
Ya man it's crazy they've definitely come up in price alot over the last couple years. There's just something about Red Irocs that check the box for me.
Clean!
Thanks Man.
What are the part numbers for the radiator hoses and the size for the hoses going to heater core? Awsome build
Nice car man I just started working on my 91 RS how did you eliminate your wires on the driver side all of mine or wired together
Love your build beautiful car 💯 I’m doing the same swap don’t know how or where to hide the pcm where did you put yours at ?
Quality lifters and noise will go away. I had that same issue in my 4th gen. 229/244 duaration 630/615 lift. Quality lifters made a world of difference!!
That's a healthy cam man. I'm running the LS7 lifters but now wish I went with factory dealer lifters but man there pricey.
Every iroc needs iroc z wheels it’s a have too
Nice, third gen is best looking Camaro I had 83 and 86 berlinettas cousin had 87 iroc
Were did you get the cold air intake and filter at? Thanks
that bih badddddddd
In France y love it the cars yeee brother
Sick camaro looks great looking for my swap to look the same
Thanks
I love this car! I have a 91 Z28 and its nice enough to win 1st place at the only car show I entered it in (just under 300 cars), but this thing is a dream with that engine bay, brakes, new seats and those wheels. I need to buy another Camaro and do this. Mine has a 350 with a Comp XFI cam 218/224 570 lift on a 113. Promaxx 183 heads, stainless long tubes, TPIS Miniram, TPIS 58mm throttle body on the stock bottom end (40,000) miles. Its black with red 92 heritage stripes. I kinda hate to undo all that's been done. I just love the 3rd gens. Whoa! I just looked at your cold star video and found out you're from Minnesota. I'm in Grand Rapids, MN. Any events left you would recommend. We just had our two cars shows July 24-25th. that's it up here for the year. Let me know. Maybe I can attend and check this car out in person.
Nice!
Love this car, I love the tail lights and the engine bay is awesome, so clean. I have a 2014 Camaro SS that I would like the engine bay to look as clean as yours.
nice job 👍
Thanks Man it's definitely been a labor of Love but it has turned out quite nice.
Beautiful Clean .. Look What’s up Brandon .. I just bought an 86 Iroc looking into an LS swap overall what was the total cost engine / Tranny / Suspension
is there a kit for installing an ls into a third gen?
Just one supercharger is the big bomb sure
I never heard of a stock turbo engine. Is it not tunable?
Thank you for fast reply, 18 is the size wanted too. Well I'll keep searching. Another question concerning your radiator: how many rows and what brand do you recommend?
18s definitely looks the best on these. I'm running a 3 row aluminum radiator I believe champion makes it.
That car is sweeeeeeet .
Thanks appreciate it.
Not sure if I'll swap with this engine. However, I am working on acquiring a junk 3rd Gen Camaro for cheap so that I can flip it. The fact that you can put a newer engine in an old car is proof that it's upgradeable.
Anything is possible.
How much did you lower the car bro?
Awesome swap! Where did you get that plastic piece where the air cleaner used to go?
Thanks. The piece was on the car when I bought it.
Fuckin sick!!!!
Nice Car I had an 85 for 20 years that I raced. Should have kept it. If It had a/c she would be perfect
Thanks man I appreciate that. Ya I've had alot of fun building this car. Funny thing is I just put AC in last week lol.
@@Brandon-LSX awesome
I like the car...But the factory Iroc rims look so much better than any aftermarket rim anyone can put on these cars..
I'm too third gen IROC Z owner. I was impress with your car, very nice. Especially, the LS3 motor, wow. I notice you upgraded to new rims.
Are selling the IROC rims? What size are they? Thanks
Thanks ya I already sold the old rims they were 18 inch irocs.
I'm sure you said somewhere but what accessory kit is that on front of the engine, looks like most of the pulleys are down low compared to other setups I've seen
It's the 4th gen accessorie drive.
My favorite build . Love it all. Especially the wheels. Is it for sale. Why are mist of the iroc for sale on East coast? I'm in Houston and can't find one for a normal price. Send me a link of wheels.
Thanks I appreciate the support. The wheels are XXR 526. The price has definitely gone up on these cars in the last couple years it's crazy.
I had an 85 z-28 that I built a 350 for, I built it to 394 c.i. vortec heads Slight work, rpm airgap slight cam stock slightly altered rocker arms, quick fuel technology race specific 750 cfm manual secondaries, 5 speed stock & 323 posi.
Sold it and regret it still.
Sounds like a sweet build. Bummer you had to let it go.
@@Brandon-LSX yeah it was my favorite.
It impressed me, it was quicker their should have been, it was lots of fun.
Nice build. I got a 91convertible with a ls3 I was wondering what transmission did u go with
Thanks. I went with a T56 transmission from a 2006 gto gotta have a clutch pedal.
Very nice car. I love the 3rd gen camaros. I had a 91 Z28 in the early 2000's. I totally regret getting rid of that car now. One little thing about the car and it is totally my opinion alone. But the corvette engine covers should be taken off. The look of a good ls engine is awesome. 👍👍👍
3rd gens are definitely awesome specially with a decent power plant. I'm complete opposite I love the engine covers. It hides all the wires and coil packs giving the engine bay a much cleaner look.
@@Brandon-LSX I love the cover but I would like the cover to say third gen or something else. But it does complete the look
