Thank you!!! I went through so many videos on youtube to find the help I was looking for and your video finally answered all my questions! Really appreciate it!
Great video however still have not found what I’m looking for. For some reason when transferring videos onto my phone or iPad it says it doesn’t support the video format. I don’t know what to change to accept it because i have watched other people transfer the videos with no problem
take a look at this page hk.canon/en/support/8202595100 Canon produce software called Canon Utility which allows you to shoot video and download video with your mobile device. However the device needs to be physically connected to the device, via the USB connection. You will need to download the software and make sure the wifi setting on the camera is switched off.
Awesome video! Question: if I’m in the US, but prefer the settings that come with PAL - can I just go ahead and choose that option? Are the file types different (regionally specific?) or is it a .MOV regardless of which choice you make? Just want to make sure I’m not setting myself up for any major technical issues in terms of accessing or editing the material.
Hi, the easiest way is to take the memory card out of the camera and either use a card reader attached to your computer, or use the card reading slot in your laptop, if you have one. Alternatively use the cable you should have received with the camera to connect the camera to your computer and drag them across.
Very helpful video! Thanks. My main reason for checking it out is that I'm learning to shoot video on my new camera and in playing back my very first video, the sound is very low. It was set on auto. I can't figure out what to press or turn on the camera to increase the volume on playback. I guess I'll have to look for another of your videos= on playback.
Hey mate.. i want to film my drawing videos with this camera to do in timelapse later in editing.. but my paper is like curved on the sides when i film with my 2000d.. how can i change that? :)
This was a great video very informative. I know you mentioned briefly, but i just want to confirm there is absolutely no way to record a video with an external microphone? I want to start recording video for a youtube chanel but i want the sound to be as loud and clear as your video or other pro videos on youtube. Please let me know what i can do !
Hello Rasheeda, no there is no external Mic socket on this camera, so you can't record sound with an external Mic on this camera. However, you can record sound separately and sync the video and sound in your editing software. Once you know how to do it, it is not as hard as you may think.
I have watched this video several times, but I can still not get my autofocus to work. For some reason, even when changing the settings and setting the lens to AF instead of MF, it refuses to do anything. How would I go about fixing this issue?
Sir: Your videos are amazing for me, because you go straight to the point, now I have a problem. Can you help me please? I’ve a Canon T7i it was working okey and I don’t know what I did, the problem is that it doesn’t want to film or record and a flashing warning appears that it can’t record please help me. hey! great video my friend i scrolled down to see if anyone else asked this question or not but didn't see one so my question ( is there a way to turn off that white box on the screen?) thanks!
Hello, as you probably know the white box is just the focus box and wont show on the video. If you goto menu 1 and then down to AF method when in video mode, you can turn the AF to Live mode. This will remove the box from the screen when you are not focusing.
Hi. Thanks for this video. I have that same camera, but it only records up to 11 minutes. I'm using a 10 65gb memory. Do you know if I can get it to record and whole hour?
No, you can't record for a full hour straight. The most you can records is 29 minutes. However, the amount of time you can record is also limited by how much memory you use. There is a size limit of 4GB, and that 4 GB limit is reached in just 11 minutes of recording in HD.
Great video honestly, just wanted to know if you knew why it is that when I try to upload a video to my smartphone from my camera it gives me a “ movie format not supported “ notification
Hi sir I am facing a problem while recording videos. My eos 2000 automatically stops after some random time. 2 minutes or 4 minutes some times 6 8 or any time but not more than 12 minutes at any case. Can you please guide
Hello, ok, if you are recording at best - 1920 x 1080, then you will be restricted to 11mins recording time in one go (4GB max). So, to test your camera, turn the size and frame rate down to 640 and see if it will record for longer. If it still has problems, the issue could be the memory card - it should be a class 10 SDXC or SDHC card. please lt me know if this helps..
Yes, I had the same issue. But now it's just not shooting in HD. The setting is above 1080x 1080 Hd so I just don't know why it's not focusing on me ! Ps : Camera is stationary, room is brightly lite. Anyone have the same problem ??
I was trying to move the videos from my canon to my iOS, and it says that the file type isn’t supported. I can’t find a single video on how to switch your recording mode to .mp4 and it’s really stressing me out as I would have no other way to switch the file. Please help?
Hi, the camera will only shoot .mov files. Looking on google, it suggests that iPhone video format is also .mov. However, there is no easy way to transfer your videos from your camera to your phone. This is because the wifi option will only transfer still images, not videos. you could try loading a canon app called Canon Eos Utility. However, the easiest way might be to transfer it to a computer using a USB and then emailing to your phone. I hope that helps..
Does it still auto zoom and correct focus? Wanted to used it for streaming model kits. Small pieces and want it to correct focus when i bring small pieces close to camera.
Hi I've recently bought this camera yo use for RUclips videos I've been using it through Utility 3 the camera came with the EFS 18-55 lens but the trouble I have is although it will focus on my face if I try to put something near the lens for a close up it doesn't focus in on it so i have to manually do that although I have it on Auto Focus settings am I doing something wrong or do a need a different lens?
Hi, yes the T7 will not automatically focus. you would have to press the focus button on the camera, or through Utility 3. If it were me doing YT videos, I would hold up the product and then switch to a close up video, shot separately and dropped in..
So if I'm recording for a FaceCam style video and I say want to bring my hand to the camera to show something, I have to hold the shutter button to focus on it? It won't just auto focus on its own? That kind of lame :/
I think the thing to remember is that this is a stills camera that shoots video, not a video camera. That said, you can get some excellent video from this camera. Firstly I would try to get the right settings to get a decent depth of filed - so if you have the kit lens, open it to 18mm, run the shutter speed at 1/125th sec for a 50/60fps frame rate, and then put the ISO to 1600. Then focus the camera as you would when talking to it and see what the aperture is. Ideally it should be around f8. If so, then you should be able to hold up the product close to your face and it will be sharp. this will involve a little trial and error, but it is doable..
Hi, can you in any way connect the camera to an external monitor over hdmi or somehow? I know USB and Wi-fi is only for stills supported, but I would love to film with it.
The camera will not shoot video with the WiFi or NFC connection. It will only shoot stills with these. However, there is a way to shoot video remotely. download eos utility 3 from the Canon website ( go to products, services and Apps and then put in the name of the camera). It have versions for Macs or PCs and will detect the suitable version for you. Once downloaded, connect the camera to the computer via the USB lead you got with the camera. Make sure the camera WiFi is disabled. start up the software on the computer and then switch the camera on. the software should detect the camera. choose remote shooting and you will be able to use the computer to fully control the camera, including shooting video. Of course, you may want to get a longer USB lead, but it works very well.
I don't think so. My understanding is that a stills camera can't shoot longer than 29 min at a time. Any longer and it becomes a video camera. and I think it then falls into a different tax bracket..
question, just purchased canon 2000d, when I transfer(import) a video from camera to my cellphone, a message said " the movie format is not supported" what is that mean? photo transfer OK but movie cannot. Thank you Reply
