  • How to crochet small doily easy step by step tutorial for beginners.
The doily measures approx. 16 cm (6,3'') in diameter.
    Materials used:
Sport weight yarn. I used Alize Bahar mercerised cotton yarn. 15 grams (39 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
    3 mm crochet hook - www.lovecrafts...
    Abbreviations (US terms):
sp./sps - space / spaces, st./sts - stitch / stitches, ch - chain, sl st. - slip stitch, sc - single crochet, dc - double crochet,
dc2(3) cluster - 2 or 3 double crochet cluster stitch - (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated ch space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 2(3) times. Now you have 3(4) loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3(4) loops.
( )* - repeat instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

i just did one with 4 wt and a J hook (i have notoriously tight tension and have to upsize my hook on everything) and it turned out pretty good...especially for my first doily.

@@KristinesCrochets - where/how would you add rows to make the finished size larger? I used 4 wt and a J hook (with very tight tension) and it finished out (not blocked) at 8¼ inches. love the look of this pattern, but need finished size to be 12-16 inches.
