Great pod as always. Funny you mentioned poly rog. John is the poly rog player in the group. Actually had a top 16 at ccu with it. Decks legit just not a lot of pilots and pretty dam hard to play. I tried it for a bit as well
@@LemorasCards oh lol fair yeah i agree with what yall said about it. It's hard to justify poly, but that is definitely the best poly deck and has some solid plays a lot of other decks can't. its still got issues for sure though
I really enjoy this format of video, just wish there was some sort of visual aid to it, like the commander pictures, the actual top with the numbers, something like that
Thank ya! I wanted to do that for this video as well, but because it already got pushed a bit back and I was worried about it being outdated by the time I finished it, I was unable to and figured I'd rather get the info out as soon as I could then get it out pretty but late.
I am new to cedh. Been playing commander for 3 years now. Built an atraxa. Learning the cedh ways is fun. My regular playgroup is fun but there is always tensions that come up because playing high powered casual is tricky with different deck powers and expectations. But when you sit down to play cedh everyone has one goal and that is to win fast. I did it so far.
@@LemorasCards that is very true. I’m a competitive person by nature so it fits well. Only struggle is getting real cedh cards. I don’t want to proxy. So I have sold a bunch of my collection to focus on getting things like a gaea’s cradle and mox diamond. Figure I would knock out some big value cards and work my way down
Question for y'all: I've been in mtg for years now but am very new to cEDH. I love mardu colors, love the Jeska and X wincon and toolbox/resourceful decks. Which of them is most resourceful and toolbox like between jeska/ishai, and all the 4-5 main jeska/tymna variants?
I would probably say Shiver's Tymna/Jeska list is what you're looking for. The deck is built with the goal of being able to do well into almost any pod. The deck has a ton of toolbox style flexibility in the artifact package, which layers incredibly well with the reanimation cards. The biggest downside of that list is that it has a steep learning curve, so if you were looking for something easier to play you could play some Jeska/Ishai variant, but Tymna/Jeska is both performing MUCH better and fits what you're looking for. You can see my guide to the deck featuring Shiver here: ruclips.net/video/6WKH6fbM1vQ/видео.html And the list itself here: www.moxfield.com/decks/-fPraoNB7Ue3GEra-zWBvg
Going back to dawnwaker I feel like Ian exposed too much of the play patterns. I think the best thing I did to make it able to really win and close the deal in these tournaments is adding a hullbreaker horror as an outlet in the deck that can also fight and win on the stack. For similar reasons I am considering adding borne upon a wind. Creating your own window is so important in cedh.
@@MultiKingFox kitten cleans lines up but hullbreaker comes in on the stack and moves things OFF the stack. Imagine making infinite mana and know you can drop hullbreaker horror in the stack and play borne upon a wind. What lines are accessible to you now?
Borne Upon a Wind seems pretty sick for the deck. I've thought about Hullbreaker as well but haven't tried the list with it in there, seems like a cool way to take advantage of the heavy mana production and some of the lines you're already on, and of course is really tough to interact with.
"Korvold as a food chain commander!?" Yeah, I laughed. We havent been on that ancient tech since...... ohhhhhh day 2 or 3 of discussions on the discord!
Rocco will be back on top - you will see ;) Its just metter of time when "new" best list aperas with new "toys". If generaly You play 70% of yours deck as "commader" it is very demanding from the pilot to know the deck perfectly, and others deks too (which now changes quite often). My heart is still with rocco , but now i think Tayam is nr. 1 with LOTR new cards ;) Its deck that got top to by surprise, and it will just growth with time ;)
Disagreed with Blue Farm at 1. Deck has been mildly exposed recently. I think either Tivit or Najeela is number 1 (even though defacto number 1 is very subjective).
I think both of those have a good argument for the best deck, Blue Farm currently has more top 16s but also does have a lower conversion rate than either of those decks.
@@LemorasCards Yeah that's why I believe it isn't number 1 personally. The deck does well when there's specific pilots (like Cook) but the majority don't play it well despite it's usage. Comparatively we just had two different Najeela pilots in two different Mox Masters/Kaos tournaments in the finals with two completely different builds and Tivit has more than just Ian being good with it too.
Well it's based on data provided by edh top 16. So it's not really an opinion piece. Blue Farm this year alone has the most: Wins 4 Top 4s: 17 Top 16s: 36 64+ entries Brian Coval only made up one of those wins. It's had 4 different pilots taking down major events.
What deck do you think is the best right now? What do you expect to perform well at The Cookout? Let us know down below!
Excited to see y’all post after the community notes, not sure if anything has changed but always learn a lot listening to y’all
Thank you guys for this podcast - insanely helpful for a new player!
Glad you found it helpful!

I have no doubts Poly Rog can perform it's just based on quarterly reviews.
Thank you! It's way more a callout of a certain creator's video putting the deck over Najeela than it is trying to dunk on the deck itself haha.

Great episode. Great breakdowns
Thank you!
the line from Princess Mononoke is "see with eyes unclouded by hate", not "judgment"
It's the whole premise of the movie lol
Top notch film
Love this. Great content 👍

There's a few things on that playmat that kinda scream 2020 cEDH haha. Cool design though.
Anybody else think Eric looks like Ryan Reynolds’s during the opener

can we get a protean hulk shirt :D I love the art style of your shirts for sale
Thank you! I'll see what I can do.
Tayam has been performing very well online but I haven’t seen any great finishes on paper
Yeah I'm curious to see how it'll do at The Cookout this weekend.
I’ll be at the cookout…….winning it
Cedh is great to play for a while, there is " no best deck"
Several consistent performers . Meta is rewarding smart pilots .
Wish this was divided by topics
Chapters are up now!
