There was a me too movement in India, suddenly there were women who accused men of sxual harrasment on Fbook and Twtr. Many people instead of waiting for investigation assumed those men as guilty.
Those men were ostracized by their friends, disowned by their family members and were thrown out of their jobs. They were treated by Indian people like how Mel Gibson wad treated by English mobs in Braveheart film.
Those men underwent trauma and depression. A film on that topic titled India's Sons was made however the Indian intellectuals and Western media downplayed that film and called it propaganda like Kashmir Files, Bulbule and Karthikeya 2.

In my village or villages of my region which is malwa-nimad I'm central India. There were cases when someone try to harass a women or girl or anyone, very harsh punishment were given cutting hands of the culprit etc so no one tried to hurt women in my regional villages.

India is safe as per area, localities, type of communities , time of day, night outs alone is not safe anywhere, type of transportation, lighting on roads etc. Even in big metro cities there are no go areas, even in safest city Mumbai (of India) you have such pockets which are unsafe.

Not in all the states... villages are more unsafe...they are not used to modern looks of women....I can say that from my own state....In most of the metropolitan cities police would be on patrol all night and therefore it is much safer than villages in my state...
