Brown-Pride yep! Some of the comments are saying that people in this video are dismissing the issue rather than accepting...and that's my point too, they sure are accepting the issue but why will they accept false report.
Brown-Pride what we also need to remember is, since India is a developing country and a strong male dominated society, when women get raped in India, many of them do not report. Because reporting the crime hurts the women more than the men. Especially in poorer areas in India, getting raped brings shame to your family, it tainted your reputation and you will never find a husband. The US, although still male dominated, protects women a little bit better by having a more completed legal system for sexual harassment cases.
Yes, but isn't rape when you are forced to have sex after you said no? ............................ And I think by saying this, you are totally oblivious and shifting focus from the real problem. The problem that should be solved is being in these situations in first place, not how good at self protection you are. I think rape might be a more common occurrence in the countryside. I am not Indian by the way, I just think that the more developed the city is, the tighter a grip the government has a on tackling these sorts of issues. (I think the disconnect between the city and countryside is worldwide by the way.)
It's much more complex here. Most incidents are by known people- family members, office colleagues and neighbours. Thus they go unreported. However, the heinous ones are by unknown predators.
Honestly rapes in rural India are far less likely to happen. Mindset differ in different parts of India but I don't think rapes happen more in rural India than urban India
Nope my state is very backward in compare to other states but here you will hardly find any rape cases but yup there were some case but those crimes are done by outsiders
I still think there might be a connection with development. As an example, during after the 2010 Haiti earthquake(I'm Haitian by the way), there were tent cities established to house the homeless. There were reports of UN soldiers and men from neighboring tents going into random girls' tents and raping them. People are more likely to take advantage of a situation when they know there is not a system in place to properly punish wrongdoings.
I was born and raised in a village in India with a population of approximately 2000. I know how these kind of Interviews can be misleading that countryside women experiences more sexual assaults than compared to towns and cities. It's not true for most of the countryside at least in southern India where I am from. People in the villages will beat up the robbers and thieves, and people who mistreat women and then they will handover to the police. Robbers and sexual predators are more afraid to do such things in Villages than in towns and cities. I am speaking with my own experience. If you look at some rape cases and child molestation cases from the past in India, they all had taken place in towns and cities. for example Nirbhaya, Muzaffarpur Shelter case etc.

Anyhow, India is NOT any less or more safe than any other country in the world. This "survey" was done by Reuters, a british news agency, by asking just one question on women's safety to 550 "experts" in total in 193 countries and gave this so called "ranking" in which India was declared as the most dangerous country in the world for women while United States ranked joint third when respondents were asked where women were most at risk of sexual violence, harassment and being coerced into sex. 90% of these so called "experts" have never visited India and went purely by "perception" of what they are either hearing or watching in the media. This "expert" panel also included a selective few chosen from India.

I live in Bangalore, which is quite a huge and relatively developed city. I'll assure you that the level of safety is proportional to the development in the area, because me and some of my female friends have gone around all over the city, even when we were minors, without any form of harassment. Additionally, I've even asked a few very close female friends of mine whether they've been under situations as such in Bangalore, and most of them have never. India is definitely unsafe in a few places, but comparing it to Afghanistan or Syria is genuinely absurd. It's like saying US is the most criminal country on Earth.

I am from the North East India and I must add that most places in India is unsafe for women. Especially it's true for us when we go to the mainland India. We experience culture shock. Like the ladt in red tee shirt tells, people brushing against you in trains, road, bus, etc is too common that when asked such questions, they don't even consider it as sexual harassment. I can easily say, even staring is sexual harassment which is far toooooo common in mainland India. In the northeast India, such things are rare and mostly we connect such crimes and creepy habits with the migrants from the mainland India. Indians get too sensitive and go on a denial mode when such questions arise but they themselves starts admitting after some time... Hypocrites. The society is such. We must address it and not brush it under the carpet then only we can save the image of India by bringing some change. Instead of denying my answer, I hope the readers better learn to introspect and work on this issue firstly by not denying the reality.

The need for sex education during the school time is a necessary in India, and the society has to change its outlook on those who have been sexually assaulted. Every one of them should know that she can live the life, she wanted and not lose anything in the sake of the incident that happened to her, also maximum punishment to those who does this insanities.
I think this is really sad that one of the ladies said that which girl in India hasn't faced or heard of someone being assaulted. Something really needs to be done about that even more so on a psychological level to me.Why do these men feel that they have the right to that and its being done on such a big scale.

Although lots of people down here argue about wether the survey is valid or not, let's just focus for a moment on what the interviewed people actually said. Their perceptions and experiences aren't universal for all of India, but they are real for them. So, yeah, it's unfortunate that the survey's source tends to be rather biased. But it bugs me that that seems to be mostly the only topic in the comments, rather than the women's experiences in daily life that they describe. I'm living in India currently and I'm foreigner. Even if I get lots of stares (not always curious ones but sometimes unappropriated ones...) I feel pretty safe. Men always keep their distance with me. I've asked Indian friends why it was so. They told me that, as a white girl, those men are afraid they might get repercussions if they harass me. What really upsets me is that those men are aware that what they are doing is reprehensible, but they don't respect the women of their own country enough to behave properly. The same women that are their mothers, sisters, friends etc. Those men are bringing shame to a beautiful country with the most welcoming people. I hope they will get the education they need and that the victim will stop blaming themselves. Women shouldn't not have to take extra care just to live their lives.

Because reporting the crime hurts the women more than the men. I am glad the women are aware and courageous. It really really counts. This actually puts a perspective, we can make this country safe. Only if we all work together, work in a sync.

The problem is the uneducated in India are very stupid sometimes 🙄
Being a male myself(almost same age) I can say the problem is illetracy and no fear of constitution
Central India ☕
One thing that makes me Amazed
How can almost all of them can speak English with almost an perfect accent? ._.
Most people here learn english as their first language...Colonization 😂. Also army?
ARMY's purple wAtermELLOnuwu It depends on who teaches them English
i suggest stop interviewing top elite english speaking person. Ask avg. person
You have to take into account that in India , each province has a different language. There's hundreds of recognized dialects spoken across different regions.
Hence it's necessary to know English ,as a common language for all.
@@bhadrakadabra actually not colonisation though the base was created by that only. English and western culture actually became a mass scale thing in India due to American and Canadian soft power and media influence, Long after the British left. If Colonisation was reason then mass level westernization would have happened from our grandparents' time or before
Few years ago I was travelling around Asia. I didn't have plans to travel in India. But I had to stay one day there, luckily I was with a friend anyway. We went out for dinner around 6pm and omg every male was STARING at us and asking us for a pic. They got so close to us and some even followed us. We had to shout at them to go away. My friend is Chinese and I'm mixed race(Korean/Brazilian) so obviously we stood out and it's interesting to people. We normally get looks everywhere. But something like this made us feel so annoyed and uncomfortable. We just went somewhere nearby and ate back at the hotel.... NEVER AGAIN!!!
Boo hoo😭 Are you just looking for a pat on the back from your liberal friends?

1. So many cute Indian ladies ❤️❤️
2. I watched the Asian Boss video about the head bobbing right before this... lol
I've noticed even on gaming sites like Clash of Clans that the majority of people openly threatening to rape girl gamers were young indian men . Just saying... Also the majority of gamers talking dirty and sexually harassing girl gamers were young indian men too .
I may get a lot of hate from this comment but too bad. ! This is what I saw back a few years ago when I played it. Hopefully times have changed .
The need for sex education during the school time is a necessary in India, and the society has to change its outlook on those who have been sexually assaulted. Every one of them should know that she can live the life, she wanted and not lose anything in the sake of the incident that happened to her, also maximum punishment to those who does this insanities.
It'll take a generation for that approval.
I think this is really sad that one of the ladies said that which girl in India hasn't faced or heard of someone being assaulted. Something really needs to be done about that even more so on a psychological level to me.Why do these men feel that they have the right to that and its being done on such a big scale.
Thanks to low level report and media. India is not like that. 100 of countries are much more dangerous than India. Yes we need more safety and better law enforcement and expeditious judicial process.
I agree with you
@anonymous true
@anonymous just check stats . I am not saying it is not a serious issue but there are literally 100 of countries worse than India.
For Foreign Media
India = Mumbai
India = New Delhi
🙏😒
Asian boss. Could u put the japanese, chinese, and Korean subtitles for viewers from these country?
Yeah, it will be easier to understand, from their native language subtitles
Although lots of people down here argue about wether the survey is valid or not, let's just focus for a moment on what the interviewed people actually said. Their perceptions and experiences aren't universal for all of India, but they are real for them.
So, yeah, it's unfortunate that the survey's source tends to be rather biased. But it bugs me that that seems to be mostly the only topic in the comments, rather than the women's experiences in daily life that they describe. Am I the only one slightly disturbed by the train story of the woman in the red shirt?
Nea 13 bro . Which story .
In short, they are saying "Yes ! you are right but not really 🙂 "
Anyways India doesn't comprise of Mumbai only. If you don't mind please take interviews from more than one city !

India is an extremely unsafe society for women. I live in India.
It's a complex question as to why women are attacked. Too much to type herem
Why do I feel that this south Korea based channel is highly biased , stereotypical and ill-informed about India.
?? even though the women on this video agree?
@@vanessaruiz4705 not be discrediting anyone but these Mumbaikar chicks aren't the brightest. I agree its unsafe at night but saying its more unsafe than countries like Syria and Afghanistan. @@eunbiasedfan2873 no its based in south Korea they have a video about it too.
Not to be rude but koreans do tend to have views bordering on racism towards other countries. Its not the people's fault though , they are just ignorant and haven't come in much contact with outsiders.

@@laxmib5885 Women safety is a serious issue and the Govt have been trying to resolve it. Also surveys are a form of knowing the progress done by a nation on certain fronts, but that doesn't mean we have to accept false and biased surveys. Have you ever felt the need to check for spy cams everywhere in a changing room at a mall or some public toilet. That's what happening in South Korea, Spy Cam Porn is a big issue there. Also many African and middle eastern nations are hands down more dangerous for women than India. It's good for our faults to be pointed out, but when it becomes a biased Anti-India propaganda it should not be tolerated and questioned with an open mind.
ask Indian men "How it feels to be falsely accused of rape and then be jailed and finally getting released after 2 years only after the girl says I was frustrated "
