For an aircraft whose wartime life expectancy was a few weeks, this level of dedication to its restoration by this team is more than just an engineering project. It's a labour of love, and remembrance of those crews who did their bit, God rest their souls.
Lest we forget Nicholas.
Neville , the workload involved in this rebuild is simply staggering !! As always , really appreciate your hard work Neville . Thankyou
Cheers John.
It never ceases to amaze me how complex the Lancaster is considering when it was designed.
Cheers PTTC.
Thanks for the update Neville. The NX611 rear fuselage really is coming along. Dave and the guys have done an amazing job to get it looking like it is now. Well done to all of them and everybody else there at the centre for all their time and effort that they all continue to put into this restoration week by week. Great stuff. Interesting to see the B 25 having the RAF colours applied to her ready for filming. Looking forward to your next update. Happy Easter to you, your family and to everyone at the centre. 👍

Thanks, Nev.
Cheers Malcolm.
Fancy AVRO designing a rear oleo box that couldn't last 80 years 🤣 Thanks again Neville.
Well who wouldn't believe it James.
Another good update Neville, they're getting on with NX611 very well it's progressing quicker than I had imagined, but of course they have the experience of doing the Doncaster rear fuselage now, and it is showing with the progress. And on that note.......Dave" I think Norm's been playing around the back end" I think you could have phrased that a bit differently mate !
Thats Dave.
15:01 It’s interesting how many different types of roundel there are. I never found out what they all mean and I was in the RAF for 22 years! I never was really aware of the colours shown on the tail until my 15th year when I received the “undetected crime “ medal and I stopped to think about the presence of the 3 colours that subtly were present on so many elements of RAF life. When we joined up we were given lectures, “general service knowledge” or GSK, can’t remember if they told us about the colours… my mind was probably elsewhere during the lectures 😂😂
Interesting Chris.
Wonderful video yet again Neville. I miss working on warbirds when I watch your videos. I’d certainly be volunteering with the rest of the crew if I were closer and not in Belgium.
Cheers Earl.
Another great video Nev. Looking at them fitting the perspex and the skins - not much between a 20mm cannon shell or flak and anyone inside but still and incredibly strong structure.
Hi AGJ617 , I don't think the 20 mm would slowdown as it passed through
Thank you for the update. Very interesting once again, thanks Neville.
Cheers Ivor
Thanks Neville
Cheers Dave.
Happy Easter Neville, thank you for another fascinating update.
Cheers mate.
Love these video's, Nev. Been over today to collect the Auster and take her back.

Good update Nev thanks....👌
Thanks Aan.
Excellent update Neville - great progress!
Cheers charles.
Great video. It is frustrating that the delivery of some components takes so long as it hinderes progress.
Cheers PCUK.
Just a question: with the tail wheel frame members that were cracked in both Just Jane and the French Lancaster, do you send out bulletins to other restorers or the BBCF or the Hamilton (Canada) Lancaster groups to let them know what you find? It might be very helpful to others to know what to look for to prevent unnecessary failures; especially with the air worthy planes.
They said they had told the BBMF about it
Hi Andrew BBMF and the Canadian were told. They all keep in contact with each other.
8:43 I’m wondering if a modification is possible to add a strengthening plate around the area those 2 pieces that have cracked ?
Hi Chris I think there will be a mod for this.
Does anybody know if a complete mid-upper turret will be acquired and fitted?
I think so they have several.
17:26 Listen here for Alfred Hitchcock murder scene sound effects 😂😂😂
Scary.
Those parts by the tail that have all cracked in the same place just scream for a design supplement to reinforce that area. I find it odd that the Lancasters were fitted with gun turrets - particularly the front, given that they were employed for night missions, while the USAAF handled the brunt with daylight missions.
Hi HH, I would think there will be a mod for this. Front turret, in summer time it only Dark for about 5 hours in GB, so at some time they would be flying in the light , so every little helps..
