To find people who are passionate about what they do is a wonderful thing. Neville is among a workshop full of them. Soak it up people, it's infectious.

I had a childhood of reading The Lancaster at War, Enemy Coast Ahead, Lancaster Target and watching The Dambusters, punctuated by visits to The Australian War Memorial to see G for George. To have this project to watch every Sunday morning with a mug of tea is the stuff of dreams. It's great to see Jane really getting towards flying again. Brilliant work Neville.

Thanks Neville. Great update. The guys have done such an incredible job to get Jane to where she is now. They really are an amazing group of people and such a credit to the museum and to this restoration. Well done guys. So beautiful to see her doing her taxi runs again and to hear those merlin engines. Very touching indeed and how moving it was at the end of your video showing all the brave men who had served at East Kirkby who lost their lives along with all the other airmen for our freedom. We will remember them. Lest we forget. Thank you again Neville for all the time that you put into these updates. Best wishes to you and all the guys at the centre.Take care. 👍

Thanks Neville. I echo the comment about the closing shot of the list of airmen lost from East Kirkby, and the number of RCAF, RANZF, RAAF aircrew included. I would truly love to come and pay my respects to my countrymen from past generations that died defending our country.

    Thanks Neville.

I was at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum on Sept 24 1988 for the first flight of our Lancaster C-GVRA (RCAF FM 213, construction number 3414). It was incredibly emotional and although I've seen Vera many times since that one flight sticks in my mind. It's hard to believe something that large can actually be graceful. She flies in honour of Pilot Office Andrew Charles Mynarski VC, RCAF, who heroically gave up his chances for survival while trying to rescue a crew mate trapped in a burning turret.

Hello Neville. Congratulations on another lovely update. I love all of your videos, but each year, the first one of the season when engines run again for the first time always brings a tear to my eyes ! Two reasons - each time this happens she is a step further to air worthiness, but also very poignant especially in this report, the men who gave their lives for us. We will never be able to give enough thanks, but this project goes a small way to doing that. Well done to all involved, and to you Neville for allowing us to share this with you ! Thank you !

In 1956 at RAF El Adem Tobruk There was a broken down Lancaster, The RAF boys made a good job of getting it ready to fly back to England. I don’t remember if it actually got there.

Somewhat confused… Are the component pieces that are featured going to be integrated into the taxable Lancaster airframe to produce and flying example. Or are they going to become part of a whole new airframe? Thanks for all the hard work putting these out.

Just Jane (NX611) is being restored to airworthy condition. To enable that to happen various other museums are loaning parts to be restored to taxiable condition so that they can be fitted on a temporary basis in Just Jane. Once Janes parts are completed the loan parts will be returned to the source.

Normally I don’t have a problem with the sound level but today I had to have the TV’s volume right up. I don’t think the noise of the air tools were entirely to blame as I could hardly hear what Neville was saying at the beginning of the video when he was outside waiting for the engines start up - no air tools there!

Is KB976 capable of being restored to taxi condition, once NX611 is finished, so that you will still be able to still do the taxi runs? Once the runway is extended to allow the Lanc to fly in and out, that would, if KB976 is externally complete, if only static, allow a future 3 lancasters to display in an athentic ww2 setting, if PA474 were to pay a visit

I am not a fan anymore of flying war birds. They become too prescious, too rare, too dangerous. I’d prefer the run ups and a wee bit of acceleration butnot actually flying.
