    Good video couple if suggestions for any other maxus owners ..
    Drain ,fill and check oil on LEVEL GROUND. When changing diesel filter cut a 2ltr bottle in half , disconnect the wiring from the filter and slide the bottle up the filter to catch the diesel.
    p.s. Are you still waiting for that diesel to EVAPORATE 🤣

    Do you know where the pollen cabin filter is located?

    • @gilesbennett7447
      @gilesbennett7447 3 года назад +1

      Belated answer, but in case it helps others, it's in the passenger footwell, right hand side. The filter goes in upright - you're looking for a long thin rectangle of plastic (running front to back) with X shapes running along it. That's the filter cover - latch is towards the vehicle rear - flip that off, cover comes off, filter comes out.

    Interesting as I have a start problem with my 2007/8 Maxus and one of the solutions is to change the fuel filter. Not sure how you managed to stop the fuel coming out tried slowing the video down but cannot see.

      does the fuel pouring out signify a problem? Mine is doing exactly the same.

    what does it mean when fuel pours out immediately as you start unscrewing the filter?

    • @rjwakeman
      @rjwakeman  4 года назад

      Just ensure clamp fuel lines, there will be fuel in filter so just keep upright

    • @rjwakeman

      I used as my sole daily driver for 2 years and brilliant.
      Also took to Slovakia and back and perfect for the journey.
      For a period sat it on the 96mph limiter and didn’t bat an eye lid. Probs sat 85/90 fair part of the Journey.
      Only daily issue was because mine was ex AA had vents on roof so car parks with barriers were a bit close.
      Only major issues being slave and master cylinder on clutch. (But easy to switch yourself).
      Has a sportier feel to other vans so can be playful to drive.
      Would recommend.

    Any idea how much it would cost to remove a limiter on a LDV Maxus 2007? Thanks

    • @rjwakeman
      @rjwakeman  5 лет назад

      Unsure, what limiter is set? Mine had 96mph which I quite liked because was a good pace for long distance (Across Germany Obviously :P )

    • @abububuggy
      @abububuggy 5 лет назад

      It’s set at 100km/hr or 60miles/hr. It was a minibus and changed to camper Van now so limiter no longer legal. Thanks for getting back to me!

    Top tip - don’t prefill the oil filter - it’s just a risk if introducing grit and it takes 2 seconds for the oil pump to pressurise the system. It’s really a bit of an urban myth that oil filters should be pre filled. If it was critical then all engines would have filters that screw in from underneath and many don’t.

    • @rjwakeman

      @@rjwakeman I just bought an LDV Luton camper conversion and I’m liking it, underneath is solid-your vid was very useful too. Clutch is a bit juddery but doesn’t slip but seems easy to change, handbrake was toast, new shoes fitted and wheel cylinders as one was seized. It’s going to need a timing belt as I have no history. Apart from a service the only other issue is the dash lights are wonky and the heater control cables are stiff - a few little jobs to do but so far it’s refreshingly simple to work on and parts seem cheap!

    Take out the diesel pump fuse and purge the diesel out of the lines going to the filter you won't get diesel every where do this before you drain the oil then before you fit the new diesel filter fill it up with diesel before you fit it, it all depends on the fuel filter mines a vw t5 I don't need to purge it,or do what your man says cut a plastic bottle up and cover the filter
