For me Halo 3 was one of the highlights of my High school experience. SWAT and big team battle fests. High school was one of the more harder and crappy times being the new kid. The ads for that game 🖤🖤😍😉

I know no one cares but mine is LEGO Star Wars the complete saga. It’s the only game my dad ever played with me and I will treasure that memory forever. I spent so long trying to 100% The LEGO city mini game
My little brother and I played that game for like two years every chance we got to play on the wii. Thats without a doubt my favorite lego videogame and I could replay it a hundred times and never get bored. I never managed to get 100% on the lego city minigame. Got 99% and couldnt ever figure out where the last percent was. One day Ill get it.

I don't know if somebody cares or read this but this is my story. I'm from Chile so my English is not perfect. In my country, technology in the 90's and the first half of the 00's was very expensive so I had my first console in 2003, a PSone. I remember that I had a Rugrats game and Metal Slug X, but I didn't liked it that much. One day my uncle gave me the best present that I can remember: Crash Bandicoot 2. It was the first game that I was obsessed with, I played the shit out of it, it was insane. I was like 7 years old, and my parents bought me a bike, I never used that bike because of my obsession with Crash 2. I had that Play Station for a very long time, and when my grandmother bought me a PS2 I didn't care, I still played Crash 2 with a shitty controller that gave me electric shocks because it was so used and destroyed that the sweat in my hands conducted electricity I think. It's not a great story but this video inspired me to write about it. Thanks Jakey.

4:51 I can challenge Danny on that, and it warmed my heart so much to hear him talking about a game that means so much to me. Growing up I also wasn't the biggest gamer ever--all the video games I played were the occasional computer game my parents bought, with the exception of a Gameboy Color my neighbor didn't want anymore and a few years later a DS I got for my birthday. But in 4th grade the only guy in my class (I was in a private school for a few years) was getting rid of his Gamecube, and even though he was going to sell it when he heard I didn't have a console he gave it to me, along with any of his games that I thought looked good. It was such a genuine and generous thing for a kid to do, and it changed my childhood so much--not really because of the single player games (which I loved) but because of the multiplayer ones.
My cousins and I were at the point in our lives where we were growing out of playing characters in the backyard, and this came at the perfect time for us to bond over. We'd passed around the handheld consoles I'd owned, but it's just not the same experience as a real multiplayer game. We spent so much time playing Melee and Wario Ware and Monkey Ball 2, and all three games became a huge part of all of our childhoods. Monkey Ball 2 especially is such a goofy and fun game, and we'd spent hours racing or playing the target game Danny was talking about. It makes me really happy that someone else knows how special and fun that game is.

My dad always had video games around the house, as he was a electronics nerd and used to rebuild arcade machines in the barn when he was a teen. There are many fond memories of him and I playing street fighter 2 against each other on the SNES and Spyro on the PSX... But hands down, my favorite game has to be Metal Gear Solid 2 on the PS2. My dad always had to have the newest and best audio system, and when dolby 2.1 surround came out he bought a whopping 50" flatscreen (the giant ones that were about 5 feet tall and 4 feet deep) and MGS2 on the PS2, as it was one of the few games that supported Dolby Surround Sound. I knew then that video games had reached the perfect point in sound (great soundtrack), video (hideo kojima is a legend of cinematography), story (I need scissors 67), and gameplay (play the game please, it speaks for itself) that anything that came after would be derivative. From that first fateful day we let the intro play on our 2.1, I knew that video games would change my life. I have beaten MGS2 over 100 times, and every time I come back it feels new. Thank you, Hideo Kojima, for my childhood and the bonding experience with my Dad.

My maaan, Metal Gear Solid will always be my favorite series ever. Such an amazing story with kick ass music and fun and charming gameplay
MGS2 was THE game that got me into gaming. Replaying much later was also so amazing as I actually understood what was being said and what was happening(most of the time, its mgs2).
MGS2 was my first game, it has a very soft place in my heart. I never really beat it as a kid because I was always stuck at the section where you had to take pictures of the Metal Gear to send to Otacon. I didn't complete it until I got the remastered for the PS3, which I'm happy I got passed all the game eventually. It, along with MGS 3 are my favorite games of all times. MGS2 has given me the most memories from a game as a child, and I didn't even beat the game until so much later. It's just a really fun game to replay, it will always hold a place in my heart for what it does.
Gus talking about Skyrim makes me so happy, because it's also my favorite game and I can relate to what he's saying so much - pretty sure other people can too. I'm away at college and I don't have any way to play it and it makes me so sad, because there are times where I go "Oh, I really wish I could play Skyrim right now".
Get a switch, skyrim actually runs pretty well and its portable. it also is 1080p docked and 720p hand-held. Its an awesome investment
Or just get a PC instead. Switch's library is very limited.

@@bakar2134 Whatever you want really. Wander around and experience the world in whatever ways you're drawn to. My favorite thing to do is collect all the different books in the game and display them in a library in my house.
@@marciamakesmusic oh I absolutely love reading the books of skyrim as well. I've read almost all of them. After finishing the main storyline of the game, I would often switch on my pc and play the game just so that I could stroll through the inventory and read every book that i had acquired throughout the game. Some of the stories had a very ancient, old and mythical touch to them even though the script was probably written by modern writers. Skyrim is probably one of the best things to have ever happened to me.
I love how you can tell Drew is exactly the same IRL as he is in his videos, even in a more serious video he’s still making bits and jokes

This was an amazing video concept. I really enjoyed this video, it's not often that I put something in my favourites list, I have maybe 100 videos and I've been on the platform since early Smosh days. Something about these RUclipsrs who are supposed to be funny making these serious almost melancholic takes about the fond pasts of playing video games when they were younger, I loved this. It definitely helped that I also have fond memories of these games growing up too, makes sense I guess we are similar ages.
This video is so wholesome to me, but the thing I love the most is how everyone talks about how these games basically made their childhood or how it influenced them in some way and then there’s Danny:

I just love hearing people talk about stuff they like, even when it didn't resonate with me.
The warmth and nostalgia that oozes from this video, and hearing all these people that I look up to’s stories really struck a chord with me. It makes me reminisce on my own to playing video games with all my friends and just gives me a feeling of deep enjoyment and happiness in life, knowing I can relate to so many wonderful people and experiences and somehow the subtle music, editing and casual feeling just add so much more to the feeling. If Eddy’s after school game was halo 3, mine would be black ops 2. I remember yelling and laughing with my friends while playing zombies and gun game. It may have been a little unhealthy for a grade 5 kid to be that addicted to call of duty, but it was incredible with the guys over.
I know this wasn't intended but this made me bummed out because im remembering these times when i would be able to have great times in TF2 with my friends for a few years but then they kinda fell out of my life and i cant enjoy TF2 that much anymore since none of my friends play it anymore. Along with the modern gaming scene where there been barely any games that can give the same experiences as any of these older games that came out in that 2000-2010 era, like there are amazing games like stardew valley, overwatch, smash bros., all kinds of other shit but I can't really enjoy any of this stuff since my friends move on from this stuff and im kinda forced to move on with them. IDK man, atleast the start of my life had great games to support it, but now i gotta find other stuff to fill the time i spend alone.
Also this would all be spicy good if Valve just made games again, but then again who fucking knows if they can make good games anymore since a lot of the people who made those games back then have left valve, so who knows if L4D3 or Portal 3 or Artifact or whatever would even be as good as the older games they made. But hey im pretty sure they're making VR stuff and if they follow that trend of being revolutionary then VR might just get amazing.

Edit: Great to see im not alone on this, also for anyone wondering i currently have 834 hours on TF2, the first 600 i feel were part of that golden age of TF2 in my life
Edit 2: That point about Valve doing VR stuff isn't that valid though since I think they did an interview where VR right now is not in a great place in the market where there is a good reason for the casual user to buy a headset, even if they dropped down to $200. So lets hope Artifact shows the level of perfection valve likes to have and then we just have to be patient after that. Now it's time to get my ass of RUclips and actually appreciate some vidya gams
