The Bosch Power4All 18v system was designed to simplify the process of choosing and purchasing cordless power tools for the home and garden by providing a complete one battery fits all solution. All batteries and chargers are interchangeable with all the tools in the range as well as Gardena, Gloria, Rapid, Wagner, Steinel and Flymo.

So Bosch offers batteries for those that offer battery power tools but don't have much investment in the battery area. I guess this is a good thing for the companies that fall in the category described above.
For customers of Makita, DeWalt and another few this brings nothing. They already have hundreds of tools on their platforms, have excellent battery platforms.
So this brings advantages to those companies joining the battery party. Customers of those companies can shop around and reuse batteries and chargers.
For those already invested in a known lineup, those will continue in those lineups.

July 2022, still no products from Steinel so far... (Somewhere a Gluegun was mentioned)
Husqvarna, PerfectPro and Kübler Workwear were added mid 2022 to the list, still no products yet.
Al-ko has some compatibel stuff, but is not mentionned
