Probably nice, but for some that have invested in the bosch pro tool (blue), you have the Corless Alliance system, but you can't use Power for All series, then you need new batteries.
Same with 12v tools, Bosch have different 12v batteries for pro and diy series, and even for Dremel tools (which bosch owns), there is other batteries again.
So yeah... there is still a way to go.

My thoughts exactly. Makita has more than 300 tools in their 18v universe because they have a single type of battery. I have the Bosch Pro system which is very good but I had to also buy into Makita for the garden tools. And the irony is that the price difference between the Blue Bosch Pro powertools and the DIY tools is not that big. So no real motivation to ever buy Green Bosch.

It would actually be nice to be able to use the same batteries within the Bosch group at least, i cant use my bosch pro batteries on green stuff..

I had to read the comment section to finally be sure that this battery system won't work on the Bosch pro blue tools. I was about to invest in a couple of the Bosch 12v professional blue tools, and I thought that some of the Green 12v would be compatible too ... Well that's a hard no 🙈.... So let me understand this; they partner with all these other companies, but are not compatible within their own company 😒🧐.... I'm glad I saw this comment section. It's not even clear on Bosch's website if they're compatible within their pro and DIY ranges - I will not be investing in the Bosch battery system, just too many options, and too complicated to figure it out, plus too much outlay I'm afraid if I did start investing. Don't get me wrong - I love Bosch tools (it's my second fav brand), I have 4 corded Bosch tools - and these are totally wonderful products. But I'll be sticking with the fabulous WORX power and garden tools - ONE battery for aaaaall their tools that have removable batteries- WORX Powershare system rulz! 🎉 (this is not complex Bosch design and manufacturing people 🙈).

Yep, it is highly deceiving. There is two Bosch standards GBA (battery for blue tools) and PBA (battery for green tools).
There is even off-brand Chinese adapters - so you can finally use blue battery on green tools.... Bosh should at least release official ADAPTERS for their OWN Bosch tools!

I can only second this. Yesterday I got the Bosch Professional 18V LED lamp (GLI 18V-300) while already owning some of the batteries in this video. I tried to make sure it was the same battery. But all I could find were statements like "working with all 18V devices since 2009". And they looked very similar so surely they are similar.
      Well nope...

It's so universal it's not even compatible with Bosch's own blue tools...

      Exsactly! Its deceiving.
I have seen off-brand Chinese adapters though - so you can use blue battery on green tools.... Bosh should at least release official adapters.

@@LyubomirIko Really? Where? Though I mainly want to convert it to the Makita format.
I hardly find anything for this "universal" Bosch DIY garbage format. Not even chinese stuff.

    • @LyubomirIko

@@avada0 For instance "Bosch PBA 18V Adapter" - you can use blue Bosch battery on green tools; and there is few other adapters for using them with other brands. I haven't test them, to deal with shipping from China is not my thing. I can find a lot of DIY project too, some use 3D printing to make adapters.
I don't think Bosch have go yet on the woo-hoo path, but they certainly can add some digital ID controllers in the future and mystify their batteries and compatibility completely as Apple did.

      @@LyubomirIko But where? Aliexpress?
I only have green stuff, no blue. I mainly look for a makita adapter, and stuff compatible with green batteries. Such as a flashlight.

Hi. I've got one of the 18vAdvancedgrind ginders and using the older style 1.3ah batteries. Trouble is as soon as I put pressure on the cutting it just cuts out. Is it different using these latest batteries? Regards Kevin

    • @haZee1111
      @haZee1111 2 года назад

Yes. An old 1.3 Ah battery is completely unsuitable for a grinder. All kind of grinders, no matter what brand, should be operated by at least a 2 layer battery to give maximum power. In case of Bosch, there is a 4Ah and a 6 Ah battery.

LIES! There is two Bosch standards GBA (battery for blue tools) and PBA (battery for green tools).
Make at least ADAPTER so we can use BLUE Bosh battery with GREEN Bosh tools. (there is Chinese one)

Seems like it'd be a good idea if Bosch would license the battery tech to third parties to actually be able to manufacture the batteries themselves, too!
Imagine a world where all power tools and nay, all electric powered products that we use all use the same battery packs. It'd be much easier to achieve with the likes of Makita, Black & Decker (incl. DeWalt and Stanley Tools as subsidiaries) and all the other brands out there using the same packs.
It'd also benefit the consumer. and the planet greatly. To hell with trying to keep consumers inside your ecosystem (I notice a lack of other power tool manufacturers within the alliance). Especially when nobody is even providing batteries with their equipment as standard, and the batteries often costing more than the tool itself...
The planet is more important, as is customer satisfaction. It'd show you actually care if your batteries could literally be used with any equipment, and vice versa, batteries from other companies also being compatible with Bosch.
This is coming from someone who owns tools from Bosch, Makita, Stanley, Einhell and others. The battery situation is the only reason most of them are corded. Ironically, I actually have a cordless Bosch drill, and the only reason I have that is because it was a rare offer with two batteries, a charger and a ton of extra goodies included, which in the normal retail space would have easily cost over $200 extra if sold separately.

Bosch is totally incorrect and dose not respect their Customer !!! Yes the batteries are interchangeable but the battery charger is not fully compatible !!! You must buy two different battery chargers even if batteries are interchangeable 👎
