- The most comprehensive test on the internet. Bosch have produced a battery powered pump that works!!!! I review it so you don’t have to.
It is perfect for the amateur gardener with more space than water can access. It is even better for the environmentally conscious person who uses solar to charge the batteries.

Excellent review mate thank you
Thanks for the support. Sub if you like.
Good review! The icing on the cake for this pump would be a solar charger add-on, so the battery gets charged in between using it.
Totally agree. I’m trying to develop one myself.
Great helpful video. I have a couple of IBC tanks and the garden extends about 80 metres away. Do you think the pressure is enough to make that length usable?
Absolutely. Is there much head?
A good review of this pump. In your view is the pressure good enough on this pump to wash car via a water butt?
Yes, I’d say that it is. It felt comparable, or better than my mains pressure, but o doubt it could be used with a pressure washer.
Dang, I thought the timer would be "I can set it to pump every AM". I want it for a greenhouse with seedlings and young plants in my allotment that I don't think I can get to every day in spring. Any ideas would be great.
I was considering a bucket of water dangling from greenhouse roof frame with a tap valve, connected to a battery timer and fed out into trays for a few mins to bottom water seedlings.... wish me luck hah. I'd much rather a timed pump from a large water butt (I'd imagine that I would have to make the water go up to a shelving rack and don't think I could raise the butt up high enough for gravity to work with a timer)
Silly question here. Do you already need a Bosch battery charger or does the battery unit connect to the mains for recharging?
Thanks for a great review. I've been looking for a garden pump to reuse our kid's bath water on the garden. Must be at least 150Ltr of water going down the drain there.
The charger comes with the pump which plugs into the wall. You have to remove the battery from the housing and take it indoors. It’s a great little pump, I really recommend it. Be careful when buying, make sure you get the ‘battery included’ one.
Does it have a pressure switch so if the hose is turned off, it shuts off to save the battery and stop the unit burning out?
It has a safety mechanism to stop it burning out but does not shut off when the hose does.
I have one and it doesn't work with the 6.0Ah battery, but works with the smaller ones. So be warned.
Hello, I bought one, its brilliant but did not come with any attachments, apart from the hose of course, but when I switch it on it comes on in a torrent, and I seem to be unable to alter the water pressure at all, it comes out like a water cannon ! any idea why ?
I’m not sure i follow you. Have you connected a watering device to the end?
Thanks for sharing! Most of my water butts are approximately 20 mtrs from a raised bed that I wish to water! to save on footsteps back and forth with a 9 ltr watering can! Would this pump cope with that distance and spray for another say 20 mtrs to cover my raised bed area? Kind regards,
I think it would. There is a section in the video where I show the pressure using a hose head, it’s decent.
@@TheMilitaryGardener Thank you for the quick reply!👍
Any ideas how to get mine working? I’ve had mine for last summer, stored it dry over the winter but now doesn’t work
That’s weird, I left mine outside in a bucket of water all winter 😂 still going strong.
I think it comes with a 2 yr warranty. In any case, it’s worth emailing Bosch, they are a good company and may be able to help.
Do you reckon you could hook up a Motion Activated Sprinkler to this ?
I don’t see why not?
Can you connect it on pressure-dripling system?
I don’t see why not.
I have one ,but the wire is loose the bit next battery. Can I repair it?
I would think so. Send a message to Bosch, they will bell you
Can you tell me the diameter of the pump? It looks awesome but it needs to fit in my water tank which has a 125mm opening.
I will check for you. Is that an ibc tote opening?
@@TheMilitaryGardener Many thanks. I don't know what the opening is called, I only know it is 125mm in diameter.
It can fit through 125mm gap. It’s around 90mm in diameter.
@@TheMilitaryGardener Excellent, many thanks!
whats the lenght of wire? Thx.
A good couple of metres. You can have the box a reasonable distance from the barrel.
How far does the timer go up to?
15 mins
Can this pump run the micro dip system?
I think it would be too powerful for that.
Merhaba kaç metreye kadar suyu pompalayabiliyor.40 metre uzağa suyu gönderebilir mi?
Yes, provided it is not too much uphill
Teşekkürler
Another cool Bosch item that they dont sell in the US. 😢😢
Ah man!
Those do NOT look like BOSCH batteries! So, BOSCH in name only, not exchangability with their cordless tools ecosystem. Fail on someones part, and good look getting replacement batteries in the future.
I think you are mistaken.
I hhave one of these and it is the same ecosystem. 18v home and garden batteries.
Wrong. I have at least 6 of the batteries and have bought some very recently.
