    I've just bought a new drill and my old good batteries are really tight in this new drill. I thought they all fitted every Bosch power4all tools. Great video, thanks for explaining. Love my old Bosch ,12 years old and good as new.

      From what I understand they should fit. Maybe they are tight because the drill is new.

    Quick shout out. Bosh have an app where you can upload the serial numbers and store the receipts for the extended warranties. In the midst of a home reno and not having to worry about holding onto receipts for the tools as I put them through hell and hope they don't break is a cool 'peace of mind' upgrade.

    Thank you for the vid. I bought the twin drill pack last Xmas and have got a few tools, garden tools to fit the range now. The old battery is a pain to get in and out of the hedge cutter, so now will move to the newer 🔋 and charger. The problem with this range is that it's difficult to get some items, b&q do some but the range is very limited in the UK. Amazon are good but the convenience of a local DIY shop would be better. Hope to see more vids 👍🏽

      No problem glad to help. Yes I know what you mean they can be awkward to buy certain bits of the range and prices vary quite a bit. I recently bought the hedge cutter in the range. I plan to do a review on it very soon.

      @@PhillWyattProjects I have the hedge cutter. It's ok, great not having a wire. I've ordered the circular saw too, but will need to buy at least a 4amp battery. Amazon is where I've been purchasing the bare units from, far cheaper than the stores. Get the reciprocal saw. That is awesome! Have a great Christmas and a blessed New Year 👍🏽

      Your older batteries will work with the newer tools as long as they're Bosch "Power For All' 18v. The new green tools are backwards-compatible with the old batteries.

    • @Shaun.Stephens
      @Shaun.Stephens 3 года назад

      While the older batteries WILL work with new tools I've just used a 2 A/h battery (in good condition, maybe 5 cycles on it and stored properly) in an AdvancedGrind18 angle grinder and the battery got hot and only lasted about 5 minutes. I'd say you really need either the 4 A/h or 6 A/h for the grinder. However I only have 1.5, 2 and 2.5 A/h batteries myself.

    I like bosch tools and think they are very good tools for DIYer. I didn't have any problem with them so far. recently I sold every tool from the green line , corded power (I didn't use cordless from from bosch green line) . moved to Maktia tools. where I live the price for the green line is quite expensive and most of people get the blue line which is the professional line from bosch. In generalI prefer to use corded tools than cordless as I'm working in small area / shop. for sure drill and drill driver should be cordless but other than that corded are excellent and you don't need to worry about batteries (full power all time) BTW , I have the "bosch go" version 1 which is great tool for electronics and small fixes. anyway bosch tools are very good and you have great selection , enjoy.

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  3 года назад +2

      Thanks Moran 👍 I started off with the drill and went on from there. You are rite about corded tools. When I can use a corded tool I prefer it to cordless. Saying that, I love how I can Interchange the batteries on this range it is very useful.

    • @MoranGuyVideos
      @MoranGuyVideos 3 года назад +1

      @@PhillWyattProjects cordless is great invention but for us DIYers / woodworkers , we should consider the benefits for each tool to be cordless over corded. I'm using bosch circular saw corded. Most of times it is great , but when I find nice piece of wood that cannot fit my car , it can be helpful to have codless saw at hands.

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  3 года назад +1

      @@MoranGuyVideos this is a good point. Usually the only reason I prefer cordless is because there's no cord. I just don't like tripping up over cords 😆

  • @Shaun.Stephens

    Thanks for the video. You say that you like the more modern charger as it charges all of the batteries but you should be aware that pushing 3 amps into those older 1.5 A/h batteries will shorten their lives a lot. One of the reasons Bosch gave for changing to a flatter battery was so it lost heat faster and they could fast-charge it. They even cite 'cooling fins' moulded into the plastic to enable this fast charging.
    I have both types of batteries and chargers and won't be using the 3A charger on my (still perfectly fine) 1.5 A/h and 2 A/h older-style batteries. The cynic in me wonders of Bosch wants people to shorten the lives of their older batteries so they'll buy new ones... Cheers.

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for the info Shaun I hadn't thought of this. It's good to share as no one has mentioned this point yet in the comments. Now I only use the flatter batteries anyway they just feel more stable on a table so it won't be an issue for me luckily.

    • @Shaun.Stephens
      @Shaun.Stephens 3 года назад +1

      @@PhillWyattProjects Cheers Phill. I'm 'using up' my older chunky batteries first and have put my four newer 2.5 A/h ones half-charged in ziplock bags in the fridge until I need them. I have the 'UniversalVac' as well as my power tools and garden tools so I dare say I'll be getting the new ones out of cryo-sleep within a year or so. The 4 A/h and 6 A/h batteries look interesting but unfortunately they're out of my price range (and didn't come with anything that I bought).
