Chesterfield Worksop canal Kiveton park Norwood tunnel closing the gap

The Chesterfield canal still needs to be completed between Kiveton and Staveley. Today I walk from one side of the Norwood tunnel to the other, at the time of its construction by James Brindley it was 1.75 miles long and the longest tunnel in the world.

Brilliant video,mate...Any plans to walk down to Ashbourne? We stayed at a campsite just north of Ashbourne twice when our lads were young and biked part of the route down to Ashbourne up to around Tissington itself....never made it further north....like the High Peak trail, there's so much history to discover.

I could do, I used to knock around this area. The Manifold valley is some special place.

@timawells thanks for the reply mate....I actually meant to post thus on Gareth Icke's You Tube page, The Walk, as he's just done a video from Parsley Hay to Hartington....wondered why I couldn't find it,lol!!!
