The pretty houses you mentioned at Turnerwood, they could give those away till they put the canal back. Now they are worth an absolute fortune. It really has put a massive amount of value on those cottages.
That's a really picturesque part of the canal, I look forward to doing that bit. I've got to just the other side of Worksop, so it was nice to see what's coming up.
hi love rhe video, but funny after leaving Hollingwood hub you and others never mentioned about the Canal Taven that was there it closed March 1963,i remember as a kid walking with my mates to Staveley stopping there for a glass of lemonade
Firstly love the shirt🤘That’s a great section of the Cuckoo way. It’s a pity it rained when I did it so lovely to see it again via your vid. I’ve done Chesterfield to Retford. Just the 17 miles to Gainsborough left to do which might be a slog!
@@WobblyRunner can I ask a question if you don’t mind. How do you film your vids. I assume it’s a go-pro but what do you use for sound. It’s very clear with no wind noise! (I’m doing some vids for work). Ta!
@@psychicspies673 nothing special I'm afraid 😄. It's just a normal go pro hero 7. I've got one of those foam cases for it which seems to be OK for what I use it for wind wise. Though there have been days when I've had to chuck out whole days of filming if it's been too windy.
Everyday is a school day 😉. Though apparently those things I was looking at were bottoms of windows from an old mill rather than where the stones were lowered.

Love this walk 👍
The canal was there of course for the mines. Kiveton and Shireoaks besides Rhodesia. Happy to work there in the 80s.

Cheers Seamus.
It's lovely.
I'm the opposite direction to you. I'm looking forward to seeing what is East of Worksop.

Nice video, look forward to part 2, love the tee shirt! (Die hard AC/DC fan!)
Cheers Gary. Great band!! 👍🙂
Started that walk some years ago, had A hip replacement then completed the full length, took a bit of time but well worth it
Nice one John.
Well worth the wait 👍

It's a beautiful section of canal.
I'm looking forward to what the canal has to offer east of Worksop. A bit more open I understand.

Thanks so much for the reply. Mucho appreciated!
Wasn't aware of the Westminster link. Also had no idea that weir was a feeder from the Harthill Reservoir.

@@WobblyRunner so much I don't notice when on the bike, although usually I go up the path rather than along the front of the wharf due to the steps.
