The highly controversial 2023 Dodge Demon 170 #1965 that was sold from underneath a deployed Active Duty Service Member around Christmas 2023 has finally gone to auction. @TKsGarage and I descended upon Houston, TX to see off the car that allowed us and @ocmotivator to take the fight to dealers for customers wrong in their deals.
In this video I will go over the backstory of how this played out in the background being one of the main architects behind its fate.

This whole deal still pisses me off. Someone with a dump truck should go get a giant load of fresh cow manure, back up to Mac Haik flowoods front door, and dump that 💩 so thick, you can’t even walk through the front doors!

Going to a Dodge dealer today it's worse when you go there just a ghost town and barely any customers and so much stock on hand it's crazy.

Feels weird to hear of this challenger yet again.
Math is backwards on BaT vs Mecum. Bat sold price is what is listed $156,500 plus fees of $7500 = $164,000. Seller nets $156,500 minus $100 fee.
The Mecum price listed includes buyer fees already and they are $152,500 plus fees totaling $167,750. Seller nets sales price of $152,500 minus fees of 10% = $137,250

Stellantis needs to be removed from the American market all together with these harmful to the brands strategies. They still have tyme for the hemi's to be used in the Chargers, Challengers, 300's and Rams 1500 DT. They screwed up when they stop making smaller affordable cars which can be ev's and hybrids which cut's those emissions penalties
Everything but the Ram, has already been discontinued.
Butter, people have found out the truth about the Demon 170...it is a one trick pony. The average buyer would have a better all around ownership experience in the Challenger Super Stock.
I sold my 2022 hellcat with only 3k miles on it, and made money on that sell. Realized by 2025 gas will be above 12 dollars a gallon and didn't see the point of keeping it. I didn't race it, didn't track it, so what's the point of it. Flipped that money into my bitcoin and other stocks and 3x'd my bag. It's not worth it.

That color alone would make it worth far less in my opinion. Everyone wants the bright colors. I’m not sure the miles makes any difference. New cars sell with more miles on the odometer. Maybe if you’re a collector and you’ll never do anything with the car but keep it stored forever, then you’d want one with 5-10 miles but the car is technically a new car and if you’re going to drive it at all, 54 miles, who cares. I think it’s color and options that hurt the value.

that dont make sense so dodge took the car from a dealer who was going to give it away in a challenge because it belong to a soldier then they turn around n auction it off Jesus whats going on it this world im so lost
No, the dealer unwound the deal on this car from the customer they sold it to and tried to sell it back to the soldier at a markup.
Dodge stripped an allocation from the 20 days of HP contest just incase the dealer was still up to shenanigans. And the soldier ultimately decided on his new car because they couldn't work out an agreement

The original dealer created a bad fib regarding the car from the start, even though it ended ok.
Otherwise I think the car would have sold for more?

Everything's paid for in the military, down to the housing. They don't really have any expenses.
Pay in a combat zone on deployment isn't taxed, and you have no expenses. It's not uncommon for guys to come back with 50 to 100k in the bank
@koenigseggkid1678 no necessarily true. While they have access to on base housing they don't earn whatever the housing allowance is if they loved off post. Plus they do still have all the normal bills a civilian may have. My guess is this person was a high ranking NCO or officer cause no one who's lower enlisted is affording that car unless they outright buy it

if I remember correctly because I've been following this story the soldier has a business and the way I understand it's a pretty successful business and then if you want to include but he makes being in the service

I liked the color. It seemed fitting to the infamous story and its original owner's background. The subdued look is more sleeper in attitude than the bright attention grabbing colors most choose.
I lived through the 70's so I did laugh at that. We had green appliances. They weren't the most attractive but they did work for decades. Thank god it didn't have shag carpet, tassels and bean bag chairs for the passengers.
But a CB with a whip antenna would work. Pusher bars/brush guard? Woodgrain panels and chrome trim? Maybe a lift kit and 4 wheel drive to give it a touch of AMC Eagle? Manual transmission and steering. Chromed bumpers, mud flaps, Cragar wheels with Mickey Thompsons and an 8-track AM radio. 😎
