Even if you take it down to "Invoice" Price(Supposed to be what Dealer pays) there is still a "Pack" included, meaning when they Whine about "Giving them away for Invoice, AKA Dealer Cost", that Pack means there s still Money the dealer is paid. They're making money, no matter how Good a deal you THINK you got.

Having a few mechanics as friends, they're all in agreement. Owners are deciding in mass to dump serious money, several thousands sometimes, to maintain vehicles they'd normally trade in by now. They're deciding to keep their vehicles for another 5/6/7/8 years for now, with the cost to maintain/freshen up way cheaper than buying new vehicles they wouldn't be happy with.

Sorry but prices can't come down nearly as much as you want because the dollar isn't what it was even 5 years ago. You can thank the Federal Reserve for that. Refusal to buy will put companies out of business before it results in the outcome you want.

Or you could buy a Toyota that actually hold their value without question. My 2019 TRD Sport was $35K out the door, traded in 2021 and got 37k for it, same model, the 2021 was 39k out the door, traded that in June last year because I didn’t want the 4 cylinder turbo. I bought an Off Road which was more than the Sport, traded it and got 41k for it. The Off Road is loaded up and will definitely keep it although it was 45k out the door and mpg is bad. The dealer called a few days ago and offered me 2k more than what I paid for it, but I declined. Toyota vehicles hold their value.

I brought an old used 12 valve, 1 ton lon bed with an extended cab and 120,000 miles off of the original owner. I paid 11,000 for the truck. Now I am a mechanic so for me an older vehicle in decent shape is a no brainer. With a few mods I can do all I need to with this older rig and it's a way simpler platform to maintain. @Lou-fm2kk sorry I was talking about the 24s
The fact sales are horrible and 25s are around the corner Stellantis is leaving jeep dealerships in a bad position.
I'm not a sales person but the fact they are obviously overpriced leaves 24s on the lot with not much to wiggle about.
We all know the system of what it costs to build them so a manufacturer discount off a 95k Rubicon X should be at least 12k plus the dealer discount.
The president said himself he's not considering a discount because he says they are a luxury car brand.
The fact a Rubicon X is more than any Toyota is hard to fathom.
In the U.S lots are full too and 20k off is not uncommon.
When you can order a 25 in 6 months those 23s and 24s are getting old fast.

It looks and runs like new and should last for many years to come. I have apx sixteen grand in a great family vehicle that is every bit as functional and comfortable as a new SUV. I can keep it good repair, or I can spend a hundred grand on something new. That's a no brainer if you ask me.

I worked for a company in a different industry that after a sale to new owners adopted the same attitude. It was so frustrating to see what we had worked to build taken down a road that would surely lead us to failure. The question was asked here "when is this company going to wakeup?". I used to say the same thing but they were convinced they were right and ignored me and anyone else that voiced concerns. In fact we were labeled "negative people". After almost two years I said screw them and quit. Their low volume high margin strategy I guess worked for management but did not for the sales staff or production crew. They are still surviving but have lost pretty much every employee that was there before the buyout. The new people just don't know any better!!

I traded a 2018 JL Rubicon for a 2021 4XE Rubicon. My milage on trips, where I rely ONLY on gas, I got almost 20 MPG with the 2018, but the Hybrid gets 26 MPG. While at home, doing small day runs, instead of just under 18 MPG, I get 30+. If I charge it at home and just run into town, I would never need gas at all. So yes, the battery is small, but since it regenerates when you brake or go down hill, the milage is impressive. Also, the torque (with a charged battery), is the same as the V8 version. I special ordered mine, negotiated $1,000 below MSRP. I got all the options, absolutely love it.

I’m 57 and found a long time ago that news cars are the biggest thing keeping working people poor. But the prices now have finally made any new car or truck I would want to own just too big of a sacrifice. I also do all my own mechanical work, serious enough to have a lift in my garage, and I see new vehicles are in a period of new tech that has so many problems that it has made new vehicles very unreliable. Unless new vehicles return to close to pre pandemic levels I’m out of the market for good.
