    About the most challenging part (for me, of course). I'm training double-clutch heel-toe first season, spent the entire summer and doing it each time I need to downshift and each stoppage. I drive a Porsche 987 Cayman. It has 5 relatively long gears. Heel-toe is super easy on the higher gears - blip, quickly double-clutch, and immediately lower gear. Usually it is smooth. But when I downshift from second to first, it has a very short rev range to put on the first gear. Sometimes I do a jerk when the revs are too high or when the revs are too low I do the super ugly clutch braking. So the most challenging part, after you learn how to blip the gas while you are braking, is to feel the revs on lower gears to put on a lower gear smoothly. And on a high revving vehicle with 5 (or less) gears, you need to put on first quite often. Definitely, the first season could end up with clutch damage. But I think it is worth training because driving with the right gear enabled all the time makes the process smooth and controllable. I'm not even saying about this unique satisfaction from smooth heel-toe before a tight corner ;)
    ahah, and people think that I'm going to smash them all when I do heel-toe braking on a traffic light :)

    Well, I can't do it in my Beetle, even though it has the sport pedals xD! The gas pedal is just way too far away from the brake. Gotta think about spacers...

    • @WastegateMedia
      @WastegateMedia  5 лет назад +1

      The spacers really helped us out. Even the pedals on Josh’s Z were too far to Heel Toe, but the Sparco pedal covers solved that almost immediately.

    What kind of pedal covers do you have? They look really nice and they look big enough for heel-and-toe downshifting

    • @WastegateMedia
      @WastegateMedia  5 лет назад

      They’re sparco pedal covers! We added some skateboard grip tape so Nicks foot won’t slip off the metal.

      @@WastegateMedia Thanks for the quick response. Did you have to drill any holes for the mounting process?

    • @WastegateMedia
      @WastegateMedia  5 лет назад

      Yes these covers require drilling but come with the necessary hardware.

      wooow, that was covering different types of downshifting and this is more detailed step by step and how to actually practice. i've benefited so much from all his videos. maybe you should try contributing to others' learning instead of hatingggg

    Do that while going flat out, not cruising speed. What do you know about this? Daily driving heel toe? Ahahah do that while racing no cruising. Im sure this guy will slam a wall on the first corner

    • @WastegateMedia
      @WastegateMedia  5 лет назад +3

      Nick does actually race on track and always implements this technique, while he hasn't yet crashed into a wall, he decided to slow down and show people how to do this in a step by step and slow manner. We appreciate your view!
