  • Finally lowering the Supra! It definitely transforms the car but it still isn't quite there without a set of new wheels.

    I'm a new Supra owner. How have you liked the springs? I hadn't heard of RSR until I came across your video. I have been debating between MSS adjustable springs or the HKS Hipermax adjustable springs.

      Congrats dude!
      The springs make the car look great. Drivability goes down a bit since I do scrape on certain speed bumps.
      If I could go back, I would do either one of those options you listed or go for coilovers simply for the function of raising/lowering the car for better fitment and drive ability

    Since its been a month from posting the video, please tell me your experience with the lowered supra and how you are dealing with potholes, uneven roads, and hills because I am planning to install a lowering kit but i am super hesitant.

      Driving this car requires more attention so I try to memorize which route to take that would give me the least amount of potholes. If I get to a pothole, I usually slow down and take it easy. I always angle it with drive ways and approaching a hill. I haven’t scraped the front oem splitter but I do scrape the plastic piece underneath the front of car, which you can see in the video.
      I was hesitant at first as well but now I feel much more confidence in driving around. Obviously you wanna take it slow when you’re going anywhere new.
      The downside to lowering it and living in an area with a lot of potholes/bad roads is that it will be tough to run a lip kit on the car hence why I still don’t have a front lip
      Another downside is lifting up the car will be a challenge. I have to drive the car onto bricks and then put the jack underneath.
      Other than that, I don’t regret lowering it at all

    Dope vid. Keep it up! Haven't watched the full video yet , but does this (or any lowering springs) affect the adaptive dampening?

    • @racethetics
      @racethetics  2 года назад

      Lowering springs does not affect adaptive dampening. You still have to function to change from stiff to soft springs

    Are the camber still in spec? I've taken interest in these cars and have noticed when people lower their MK5 they don't mention getting camber arms or getting it aligned.

      I got it aligned right after installation. There’s slight camber to the new set up which I requested when it was at the shop.

      @racesthetics That's awesome that the stock arms can put the camber back in spec. If not, close to it at least. Appreciate you taking your time to answer my questions. Subbed! 😁👍

    Did lowering the Supra change the feel of the drive?

    I do not understand people likes to ruin the cars bybjust installing spacers and spring while you can do that properly using coilovers. Sometimes people are interessted in loooks than the real performance and safety of the car😧

      @LifeOfOliver1 2 года назад

      Don’t worry about other people. Let them do what they want. I have springs on my car and it’s great. Definitely not a safety concern lol

      People use spacers and springs simply for better fitment. And yes, some people are more interested in the looks of their car than performance meanwhile other people are more interested in the performance of their car rather than looks. You build your cars the way you want to because at the end of the day, the car is in your parking lot, not someone elses
