Wheel Spacers and Lowering Springs Are The BEST Handling Modification For The MK5 Toyota Supra!

  • 👋 After installing H&R Sport Springs and H&R 15mm wheel spacers, here is my review on these products and how they effect the 2023 Toyota Supra and MK5 Supra in general! I think if you are looking to improve the look of your car but stay on a budget, high quality wheel spacers and lowering springs are the way to go! These H&R Sport Springs lowered the Supra .75in for the rear and 1in up front. I love the new stance because it got rid of the bad wheel gap and really makes the car look aggressive! This drop is also not too low and I've never had any scraping issues. The spring rate is a tad stiffer so the Supra feels more planted in sport mode and flatter in the turns. In normal mode the dampers can still be in their soft setting and it feels like stock. Lowering springs are the ideal way to upgrade the suspension for the Toyota Supra since it retains the factory adjustments and gives you the perfect drop for style and perfect increase in handling. The 15mm wheels spacer I installed have a hub centric lip to ensure a safe design. They poke the factory wheels out perfectly flush and really help full out the wheel arch and give the Supra and even wider look. The wider stance also further lowered center of gravity on top of the springs to keep making the Supra handle better. Very good setup with all of these products!

    I agree. The lower aerodynamics help a lot. I went with the HKS adjustable springs and spacers. What are you thoughts on going with coilovers? Are they worth it?

      Oh cool! Unless your tracking the car, I don’t really see the need for coil overs. Stock dampers are really good and the two modes in nice to have. Adjustable springs would be pretty sweet tho for a good blend of a normal spring or coilover

      the oe dampers are really high quality plus its electronicly adjustable lowering kits like mss or hks pretty much turn them into real coilover plus those kit have a slightly higher spring rate then oem so you will have a slightly better driving car trade off is slighty worst ride somthing like a less agressive bilstein evo se or kw ddc if indeed you want the best of the best suspension for the race track you will need to spend big kw v3/bilstien evo/ohlins dfv and those are full non electronic ajustable stuff you can even select your spring k rating but those arent as easy to live with as the oe electronic damper with a adjustable lowering kit.

    Lets say you want to run aftermarket wheels similar to the stock wheel specs, would you still suggest hub centric rings even if the spacers have the hub centric lip?

      If your after market wheels have the identical center bore to stock, you won't need them. But if they are larger you'll want hub centric rings. My GTR had Vossen wheels on them, they were made with stock size center bore, so never needed rings. The ESR wheels I did on my last Supra and our S3 I needed rings since they were larger

    i already have spacers incoming but worried that the springs would make it too low. how's the driving experience so far? do you scrape getting in and our of garages? or when going over speed bumps?

      Yeah will fit all of the Supras. Should make any stock Supra look nice and flush. Same for the 4cyl even

    Got it, hubcentric. When cars are lowered too much or have the wheels pushed out too much it looks way off to me.

    How do you liked the Supra vs. GTR in terms of driving dynamics?

      Both very different cars. GTR is a supercar. Supra is a very nice sportscar. GTR is raw and mechanical and old school. And has supercar acceleration. Supra has more modern tech and I love the manual. Manual Supra is hot on the heals of fun factor of a GTR I think. But very different cars overall

      @@kobedabestyeah by the time I bought one that’s all I heard from people. Then I drove it and really can’t understand how ppl think it’s a computer. I think just back then, it was so fast and had new tech, ppl didn’t know what to think. But it’s a very old school raw experience

      Actually no. This is the sweet spot. I have scraped on anything. Seems like you can do a 1in drop on most cars and still clear normal road items

      @@mk5_3I highly doubt it. If anything, if one of your dampers ends up failing, a dealer would probably blame the springs for it to a avoid covering it under warranty. I’ve never heard of anyone having issues with these dampers tho.

      I didn’t want to fully install it yet. I’ll be wrapping the car and I don’t want to deal with pulling it off to wrap the car. Don’t want to risk breaking it

    Dude I need help. 20 inch or 19? What will make the wheels look more flush but still handle nice with no rub

      Either can work. The tires size and wheel offset will get you the flush look. But on OEM tires with 15mm spacers and the H&R springs. Car is nice and flush and fills the wheel gap out with no rubbing. We have all this on our website. www.brosfourrspeed.com

      Very different cars. However both Toyota and BMW had an equal input on these cars. It just happened to be physically built by BMW with their parts
