G’day Juha Thanks for a very interesting and comprehensive review on the Hex GS-911. It’s almost a necessity for servicing the K1600’s by the owner. In Australia the cost of this device is almost comparable to the cost of a basic service, ie around $500 to $750 AU for a new unit. Enjoy riding in the warmer season and thanks for the videos mate. The winter gloves are being worn here in Aus now.
Hello mate. Thanks for the comment. I have had the GS911 for years, and I do bike services (out of the warranty) by myself. We are rushing towards summer now, feels good. Safe rides.
Thank you Brother, Thank you for producing a very informative , clean and concise video for those of us who have the ability to service our own motorcycles. I make my living as a residential property maintenance and repair man. I maintain everything in the property from elevator switching relays and hoist motors, gas and oil boilers, refrigeration plant of Air conditioning system to washing machines and dryers and a few bicycles for the tenants before Christmas morning. I am a good Auto machanic on American made 60s and 70s engines but I draw the line with the engine on my 1998 R1200C. Everything under those valve covers seems familiar to me but I just don't trust myself enough to get it right. But I would be interested in locating various electric problems (Ground fault, ignition delay and failure, cellenoid interrupt etc) Is there a device like the one shown on your video that would be compatible with my1998 Bmw R1200C? Many thanks again for your efforts to share your knowledge and experiences. Drive safe brother. Mas-
Hello and thank you for the comment. When looking from the GS911 pages, it looks like the current OBD2-version of the GS-911 diagnostics tool is fully compatible with your bike (gs911usa.com/GS-911_Compare_and_View_Models_Supported.html#models%20supported). But with some tuning or maintenance with your bike you need a documentation also, like the BMW Factory Service Manual (which is available in eBay for example). Have safe rides mate.
That was very informative. I have a question. Will the software only work with PC Windows? I am a little confused about that. I saw that you did your computer demonstration on Windows. But then, you also did a demonstration on an Apple Iphone. Can you explain this?
Hello Paul. Gs911 works with all phones with web browser. Computer needs to have spesific app from the HexCode. There’s a good schematic (manual) on the HexCode home pages how to use the Gs911 in different situation.
@@MYMOTOLIFE yes you right. Is good to have competitors. I will say if you are professional mechanic then gs-911 is useful tool. If you do maintenance with your bikes by yourself then motoscan is all you need 😉
motoscan all the way ,,,,, 3 years now with the gs911, and i can honestly say the updates are not current, Its now worthless. good bye $400 dollars. never again gs911@@BlazeOnMoto
I noticed my tft indicated speed is off by 4 mph when operating the bike at 60 mph and watching clock i had to adj speed to 64 mph in order to get 1 mile a minute is there a calibration for tire diameter or bevel gear ratio to help to get indicated speed closer to what it should be
Hello Checker. No, the wifi for the gs-911 is for connecting a phone to it. If you need same time the internet, then you use normally 4g etc. The gs-911 act as a wifi connection point.
How to have the GS 911 wifi connected onto the internet while being connected via WiFi on a android hand phone ? The apps tells me not connected onto the internet.
Hello dark ness. The GS911 (version Diagnostic tool GS-911 WiFi Version OBDII (Euro 4) - red) should be able to show the F750GS info. Maybe you have to check the latest firmware and software? Different features are dependent of the software in the GS911. When they update it, some new features (and maybe some new bikes) can come available.
@@MYMOTOLIFE i've read the date written in the back of my device... it's 2017 which is before even the new series came to production...is it possible to update and download the latest firmware or software keeping the same device ?
@@soufianemors6853 this is a question only HexCode can answer. I have had in total of 3 different gs-911 device. I sold my earlier models with the bike, so I could by a new one for the new bike. Actually I had to buy the latest because the BMW changed the ECU port.
@@Thomo_qld Just been battling my way through, I saw the PSI switch. Cannot explain it now, But I plan to boot up GS911 WIFI unit a number of times over the next few (lock-down Day) and work out how exact this thing boots and connects. Seems much more clunky than it was on my former R1200RT SE on the older soft ware! Will get back to you soon!
Just had another go, I don't have the older interface on my PC, I have a newer on. Anyway. at an early screen with not many options I pick 'SETUP' Then 'OTION' and my MPG/Litres PSI/BAR setting are there! Will reboot thing again tomorrow to try and find the smooth way in as it is a clunky as all shit! Email me leon.schmeider@gmail.com and I'll send you my picture of the screens!

Motoscan plus obdlink is much cheaper and better option in my opinion.

Hello Paul. I think there’s no possibility to set offset for the speed. At least I have not set that kind of parameter never. Ride safe👍
