- Paka has quickly become one of my favorite outdoor clothing brands with their garments, and now they also have jackets. The new Paka Apu Parka is made using insulation from alpaca wool called Pakafill. It is the warmest ethical Insulation packed into one layer. This jacket claims to be designed for extreme performance and is made from natural alpaca fibers and has an amazing warmth to weight ratio. This is part of the new Apu Series the PAKAFILL® 2.0 line.

what do you think of Alpaca as a insulation for a jacket? Will this be the new go to insulation?
I don’t have their jacket but have a couple sweaters and socks. They are fantastic!

They probably didn't plan on it, but this is basically the perfect PNW/BC winter fishing jacket. Warm when damp and able to shed heat without fussing with waders or packs.
