It's nice knowing the backstory of the bike... It really does put life in perspective and makes me consider getting one of my coveted bikes because life is short; however, it can be shorter than we could imagine wanting to know! Very inspiring build, I bet the first owner is proudly looking down! 👍🏼
♥️amazing to see such a beauty coming back to life. when desmo started, a prominent smile came across my face also. Very dramatic to see such restoration. Thank you for a ducati delight..!!
I smoked for 31 years and believe me when I tell you the best thing you can do is start vaping and drop the stinky's. Love the series mate and can't wait for the next episode.
Wow u lucky Britt's really have something special there can't wait to see it transform into a new bike,n those mechanical valves sound so good can't wait till u open it up full throttle
i absolutely love what your doing here , what a joy to watch . love the back story form ducati .. (going there in two weeks !! ) keep it up , made my day .. the difference between you and fat mike from WD is he is a fucking tawt .. 10/10 people love the spanners
Great video series, loving the rebuild. Is it just me or does Dan look and sound like a bit of a cockney Ryan Reynolds?! Keep up the great work chaps. :-)
please read to the end. it pisses me off that you are opening the minted box, it is the new bike why do you want to open it!!!!!!!! but you are doing the right thing. you love this bike the same as I do, that what you are doing there.. is love to bike! GOOD JOB! I hope I will see one in my life. dream about asking friend to swap bikes and pray for one. WHO ELSE DREAMS ABOUT THIS BIKE?
Anyone else use the used oil on the filter seal? Theory is it's the carbon in the oil that keeps it from sticking. Pro tip from master cert tech for bmw.
Very nice sound! Whenever I change the oil, whether it's to my cars, bike or lawn mower I always fill the canister with fresh oil before putting it on . This means that the oil pump doesn't have to fill the canister before it gets to the bearings, which is very important with an engine that is dry from sitting for so long. The oil doesn't drip out of the canister if its a horizontal fitment because of all the valving but there is no need to hang about when spinning it on. Filling the canister doesn't cost anything and may just save that metal to metal rub. You can see how effective it is since the oil light goes out much quicker than with the dry canister.
Worst thing that can ever happen to motorcycles....... just sitting unused for years. Stuff just rots, dries out, rusts, tarnishes, gels, oxidizes, acidifies, collects moisture, cracks, and sags.
Used bikes are great, or can be. Some take a lot of love to get them back on the road in trustworthy condition. I have a rather keen interest in a late 90's ZX-11 at some point, but I just don't have the facility or space right now to tackle a project.
@@exothermal.sprocket I wouldn't mind trying to get a kx125 or 250 and have a go referbing one of them... they seem fairly straight forward so should be a good place for myself to start
Really enjoyed that Andrea Forni interview, great job great video
8300 RPM thanks
This is the bike that made me love bikes... Magnificent work.
back in the day they were a poser's bike, bought by accountants and never ridden hard
@@flytoday still the same..
@@flytoday I believe it because who else could afford one? lol. My boss sold his when Enrongate broke. lol.
I am soo excited about this series. The Desmo has always been my dream bike. This is going to be proper build!
Every time a desmo starts, a prius dies👍🏼
And no amount of clapping will bring them back.
I think everyone watching at 13:52 had a big fat smile on their face just like John.
I realy enjoy that moment, like him
Wrong, actually I've dropped a little tear 😉
I am guessing that everyone else was as excited as me to hear this thing run! Great project :-)

Sweet! I wish I had one.
Fantastic
love it
Love it.
Can't wait for the next episode! Are you going for the stock looks or are you going to jazz it up a bit?
wahriff back to stock with the road panels.
well done blokes
Did you do a compression test? Be interesting to see, perhaps once the bike is further apart
Are you going to get a GP7 kit for it? That would be a lovely edition?
Beautiful bike, such sad treatment.. This, RC30 or OWO1? Still have to say, my dream bike is a Ducati 888 SP5... Just my era, Foggy, Falappa et-al
I was always told to pre-fill the oil filter a bit , but each to their own !
Gavin Kerr bit pointless at that angle Gavin, that’s why Dan turned it over before starting.
YES
Awesome, enjoyed that...I reckon this project will be a 32 pot noodler, avoid the ones with sultanas in though, the diiiiirtyyy bastads
Nice
Why the model at the museum haves headlights and yours don't?
Track panels on ours.
I want a desmo 😮
nice
Part 5? Ive been waiting for 2 months now... ;)
So, your bike 425 has the track only front fairing on it that doesn't have headlights. Are you going to get the street legal front fairing?
You need the rear fairing also for the street. Did you get those?
@@DirkWrightxyz hi, there were a set of road fairings with it.
@@BikeWorldTVshow Thanks. I looked ahead and saw that. Cheers!
When Will you Guys upload part 4?
It's loading now, it'll be up in a few minutes.
Hi Simon how many miles did you put on the 916?
Proper V4
Wow, listen to that dragon breath!!!
why didn't the race this bike in wsbk?
...the interview was good....
I want to hear more from the Ducati gay. Great video!

That didn't sound half bad xD
F*ck me, what a sound :-D
What happened?
Nothing, we've been busy with new bike launches and Dan's been riding on track in Spain. It's coming.
If you guys don't finish this thing to the very end I'll be gutted. And angry, very very angry.
No powder coating! Xylan or cerakote.!

To every vehicle in general and yet for some reason people covet these barn finds.
nice crusty silicone hoses, always wait for them to pop!

I may be alone in this but id love to see less chatting and more working on the bike in detail.
No belts to change every 2 years.
Way too much water in the pot noodle!!!
