  • It's a big day in the Project 425 workshop, John heads to the Ducati factory to do a bit of research and Dan wants to hear the bike run before he starts stripping. Hang on until the end, worth hearing.

Very nice sound! Whenever I change the oil, whether it's to my cars, bike or lawn mower I always fill the canister with fresh oil before putting it on . This means that the oil pump doesn't have to fill the canister before it gets to the bearings, which is very important with an engine that is dry from sitting for so long. The oil doesn't drip out of the canister if its a horizontal fitment because of all the valving but there is no need to hang about when spinning it on. Filling the canister doesn't cost anything and may just save that metal to metal rub. You can see how effective it is since the oil light goes out much quicker than with the dry canister.
