Awesome video! Track day and mot. Bring that beast back from the dead. It sounds great too. I'm going to love this series. I loved the Land Rover too. Your underpants, not so much. Best!
Personally I'd love to see you do a track day on this Bimmer.. It would certainly prove that it's all about the rider not the bike. You got to go for it Chris.🎉 Thank you for all your most entertaining and enjoyable content...so good.
"will a k bike run after standing" 😂 obviously... I bought by k75 when I was 22 as a cheap shitter to go to France on. That was 18 years ago and it's still mine... My r ninet feels like a fisher price toy in comparison from a build quality pov. The engine actually started life as a Peugeot car engine, bmw bought it off them.
Either a trackday bike or a monster enduro style 😨 I owned one for a few years, they are absolute tanks, but there's a weakness in the flywheel in the older models that can make them sound like the main bearings are shot ! Older flywheels had only ( from memory ) 6 rivets holding them together, these tended to wear and the induced play then sounded terrible..newer bikes had 10 or 12 rivets and didn't suffer from the same issue..but a relatively easy fix 👍
Brilliant 👍 So looking forward to this series. Bikeworld is on a roll, keep the great work up. Its great that you just aren't getting bike running (like the yawn LBS barn find car episodes) but getting it road (or track) worthy. i say give it some cool/budget mods too. The bike is v cool, sounds great too and a single sided swingarm to boot
I had a K75s travelled 1000s of miles all over Europe in 6 years of ownership it didn`t miss a beat good torque meant you could load it up with camping gear and missus on the back cruising at 100mph all day and still good in the twisties untill i traded up to the BMW 1100rs . A Solid and Very reliable odd ball, they make very cool cafe racers now .
Make it mechanically perfect then head for the track. That in itself is satisfying. Spending much more money than that would be a waste. Let the next guy make it pretty.
Had a 1986 K75, put 68K miles on it with no issues, great bikes. Only issue these days is parts availability and running down small issues with the electronics.
One of the best engines ever built besides the K750 3. You keep it oiled, it will run. Easy to work on too, all engine parts easy access to bearings and shims, all of it. Great find in a barn. Ride it after you tune it back up. Shell go.
As soon as I saw that the brakes weren’t locked up like on every barn bike I’ve ever touched I thought you might have a ‘looks worse than it is’ situation. In that case I’d say put some time into it… really does look like top cafe racer material to me.
A great choice as a follow-up to your GS restoration. Remember how it was BMW's plan for the K-series to replace the boxer twins? And yet here we are, 40 years later, and while the twin has gone from strength to strength, the flying brick is now just an intriguing footnote in BMW's history.
I had a 1979 R100RT in 1984 and traded it in for a K100RT which looked the business at that time. It was a great mile muncher with a superb fairing if you were very short. I’m no giant at 5’8” but it needed a crouch to get its quiet best. Honestly, it was soulless with a dreadful seat and vibrating engine. But it lingered for many years in its various guises. The 1300s are pretty mental. What they really achieved was a great comparison and guaranteed the flat twin’s survival and development.
I have an old 1999 K1200 RS with 50k miles on, so long as I chuck some fuel and electricity at her she is unstoppable. Amazing build quality and like you say bonkers engineering but great bikes to plod around on.
My dad bought a K100 RT brand new in the 80s but he didn't keep it for long. As a short man the enormous seat height was challenging, so much so that he got someone to cut lumps of the foam so he could touch the ground. The fuel warning light was so bright it would blind you and the motor developed lots of rumbles. He ended up trading it for an R80 instead.
Many years ago my buddy bought a used one from up in Enid. WE took turns riding it the 80 miles back to NW OKC. I guess I had my '79 CBX at that time....or maybe one of my Shadows......(me memory is fudged) Anyhoo, it's a whole different experience from a Japanese bike. In every way
I had a K100RT back in the really early 90's then had a moment of sentimentality about 4 years ago and bought a K1100RS - which I got over after about 4 months (and made about 400 more than I paid for it).
Track day! I'd love to see you having a blast with this K100 on track.
Bike S.O.S new TV programme is born!
Def need an episode on the Land Rover
The gap in the door 😂
I really enjoy when you do these bikes Chris, as you finish them and show what its like when youre done.
Make it a bit nicer and track day!
So cool, track day for sure!!!
Representative of Manguetown supports the motion!

Ride safe 👍

Love all this sort of stuff👊🏼 that bike is sick, just an engine and seat 🤣❤️
I simply love all of these vids you are putting out. Brilliant ideas and quite fun to see you use all your skills. Keep up the good work mate!
Personally I'd love to see you do a track day on this Bimmer..
It would certainly prove that it's all about the rider not the bike.
You got to go for it Chris.🎉
Thank you for all your most entertaining and enjoyable content...so good.
Track day, definetly!
Had a K75 last year, superb engine and build quality was superb.
Make it nicer 😊😊😊
Love it - can't wait to see what becomes of it
Haa. Love the burnout finish!! Would be cool to see some clip on bars and a mini performance spruce up job. This Bike looks sweet!!
"will a k bike run after standing" 😂 obviously... I bought by k75 when I was 22 as a cheap shitter to go to France on. That was 18 years ago and it's still mine...

Love these episodes, nice work bike world!
Absolutely Track Day do it justice - loving your content Chris - Are you in the Brecon Becons ? the scenerey is fantastic (I am North Wales)

That is a fantastic bike, love it.
What an advert for BMW!! Sounds sweet!
Not sure about a track day, but it definitely needs to be cleaned up a bit and made nicer. Looks like a good flip or scrambler fun!
That sounds absolutely fantastic tbh
All of your content is bloody brilliant, thank you
Brilliant video! Track day definitely!!!
Track day! Yes! 👍👍👍👍👍
Brilliant 👍

Love this series!!!!!!!!
I had two K100RT’s, they were excellent. Did massive miles on them. You’ve got to bring that up to spec with some narrow bars on
TRACK DAY!!!!! LOL You know u gotta do it Chris 😅🤣😂
Looks and sounds gorgeous.
Nc700 has half a car engine in too
Nice door fitting on the Landie😂
I had a K75s travelled 1000s of miles all over Europe in 6 years of ownership it didn`t miss a beat good torque meant you could load it up with camping gear and missus on the back cruising at 100mph all day and still good in the twisties untill i traded up to the BMW 1100rs . More cheap track day builds!! Would love it!
Cafe style, trackday, and 'stick-on' hipster beard optional!...😁
Track day, defiantly going to be loads of fun 😀
Track it! I bet you'll be surprised how well it handles.
Nick Jefferies rode one in the proddie TT in 1984 , finished 8th . You have to track day it ..😁
Legend! That must have been a hell of a thing to ride around there.
Make it mechanically perfect then head for the track. That in itself is satisfying. Spending much more money than that would be a waste. Let the next guy make it pretty.
Definitely a track day and love the view out the top of the door in the landie 😂

I've just finished building my k100 it's got 90k miles on it and still rides spot on
Cracking video
Track Day, Track Day, Track Day...!!!

I know, I was so shocked that the callipers weren’t seized, I’m guessing it had some decent love before it was laid up.
Absolutely love the Land Rover.
A guy has a K 100 where I have my Tyres fitted, it has 385k on it
that is a great find..
Love to see you track day it.
Mad Max Bike 😎
"as black as the Ace of spades" I love it 😂

I’ve been thinking of a noco for an upcoming trip. Decision has been made now.
Track it!
I had it's little brother the k75 and it was a lot of fun trying to ride it fast.
Track daaaaay!!!! 😂❤🎉
Either track day or knobblys and a bit of scrambling😊
Track it definitely!

That is a real gem. Plenty of TLC, then track day it 👍
Definitely do a track day

4:12 I absolutely relate to that 😂
full resto :) and do a trackday!
Track day👍
Only another two years and you can register it as historic and you won't need an MoT!
Track day is my vote!
I used to have a K100rs back in the 90s. Great bike.
Looked a bit different to that tho😂
I love it I want want. That as a flat track bike would be insane 😁😁😁
Thats a great find !
I have an old 1999 K1200 RS with 50k miles on, so long as I chuck some fuel and electricity at her she is unstoppable. Amazing build quality and like you say bonkers engineering but great bikes to plod around on.
It started, it wants to live the good life.
Track day.

Trackday, then a sticker for each sports bike you pass ww2 style. :)
Make it look better for a track day 😊🏴
AMAZING MACHINE. Cafe racer for the road.

Track it. I want to be there when you do. Bike World Track Day 🤔

11:16 isn't the NC750 half a car engine? Jazz or something?
I defo remember there being a 500 about 8 years ago that was a half a jazz engine that only rev’d to 4500
Yep, that’s what Honda said when they launched it, good memory there!
Exactly!
don't go crazy on upgrades but a track day beast for sure - listen at it man, just listen at it :-) will it be up for sale afterwards ;-)
TRACK DAY
PS. Chris, you’re nuts. and that’s definitely a good thing,
You may just have increased the value on the K100. That was staggering. If only the modern bikes were built that way.
Well, you’re not going to enduro it, are you? So track day it needs to be, surely. Les
Don't tempt him!
I've an ST1100 that has been sitting for a decade. Was all good prior to this - you're welcome to it if you'd like to take it on.
A very good bike that's needs putting back on the road 👍
@@garymorgan628 Used to love it - then the old story of kids and she has sat there ever since.
Ah hell yes! Loved those! We’d be up for that 👍
@@chrisnorthover7582 Great - let me know how we can take next steps. I'd love to see her brought back to life and bringing happiness to someone.
Make it nice 👍🏻
Make a track day brick!!
Guys, what happend to the S1000RR that started the write-off rebuilds?
It's coming back, Motul took it for a promotional tour.
@BikeWorldTVshow That's great news, thanks for the info!
100% track day and bells and whistles
Honda NC has half a Honda Jazz/Fit engine in it.
I've got a 02 Moto Guzzi Special Sport that may end up being a barn find for someone in the future.
Project scrambler? 👌🏻
JDM Honda acti uses half a goldwing engine
Make it as nice as you can, would love to see that ❤😊
Silk purse out of a sows ear? Ok, possibly!
Track day , but no clip-ons , just motocross bars
Clip ons cafe racer seat and Messerschmitt 262 paint job, make it so.
not quite the bearded mechanic or vicegrip garage 😂
