  • Hello flight simmers, and welcome back to Alpha Hotel Flight Simulator Training.
This video is part 3 of our 7th flight lesson in the instrument training series, focusing on flying a Localizer approach. In this video, we’ll conduct a demonstration flight, demonstrating how to fly a localizer approach in the Cessna 172 Classic analog or steam gauge panel.
In video 1 of this lesson series, we talked about what a localizer approach is and the basic theory of how to fly one. You'll find that video here: • MSFS - Localizer appro...

Awsome ,the in depth videos help a lot to understand the real navigation, and make the sim as real as it gets ,thanks a lot Captain for doing this series, much appreciated.

Thanks for making these, I am learning a lot from your videos sir. I understand there's not a way to fail individual instruments in flight sim, but is there any way you could please teach us by making a separate video on partial-panel flying?

apophis1337, thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you're finding the content helpful.
I do have a video on the plan for partial panel flying - I just don't know how long it will be before I get to it. You can fail instruments in the 172 classic on PC by using an mod/utility called "RandFailuresFS2020." It will let you fail a number of components in the aircraft including individual instruments, and systems like the vacuum system. It is available at Flightsim.to. Here is the link: flightsim.to/file/2272/randfailuresfs2020
(You can fail screens on the G1000 172 using the master/battery switches and the avionics master, but there is no way to fail an individual instrument - aside from the standby instruments - on that aircraft.)
