I saw it on the auction site & didn't believe it ran. Guess that's what's called a diamond in the rough. My best wishes to whoever ends up with it. Hope it gets a millionaires resto! That poor thing needs it.
The Australian built 696 used the D-310 engine, the larger US built 826 used the D-358 engine. The Farmall 826 was sold in small numbers in Australia. The tractor in the video is a "Gold Demonstrator", a tractor detailed with gold coloured paint for promotional purposes. The 826 was available optional Hydrostatic transmission which will be $$$ to rebuild.
I've bought a few pieces of equipment from Charles Klumpp, Tom's dad year, and years ago !! They had, and still have a Farm Equipment slavage business, and I've gotten a few parts off of their parts Equipment, and they bought some of our Equipment when we decided to quit farming !! They used to be located by Kinder, Louisiana, and now located outside of Basile, Louisiana !! Good people to do business with !!
So, question for you. Was the D-358 that was in the 826 worse than the D-310 that they put in the 706s. I have always heard that the German-built D-310s that they put in the later 706s were better motors than the original American-built D-282s were. Just wanting to learn a bit. Thanks
@@NEAFarmKid4010 hell yes the later motor in the later 706 the german was bullet proof i have a all original one with 9,500 hours 100% factory all original still never had motor problems never had a problem i have never fixed anything on that tractor i bought it new
I have a 826 358 German. Was overhauled good tractor. Most equipment has problems new. The 826 was built to fill in the hp jump. 3 years of production 69 to 71.
@@t.c.bowling1934 Which style of transmission did you prefer? I assume your 826 tractors were diesels, most were. I assume your 826 tractors were the Farmall (row crop) versions, most were.
Should definitely do a follow up on this tractor when it gets restored, cause you know who buys this will restore it I'm sure
Would love to see this baby looking shiny & pretty again.
Yes a complete restoration , would do it justice !!
Beautiful tractor.

This reminds me of my old 696, great tractors

Pretty neat tractor. Never seen a standard with a hydro transmission. Man I’m torn on whether I would restore that one.

I was involved with a IH dealership when these 826’s came out. We called it the German diesel. Many many problems with this motor. Pump was the worst.
Tom Broer. Today they are but then was another story. Every one sold was returned. They were sent back to the plant.
Tom Broer. Only 2 were sold. The factory gave the both customers new 856’s.

Yes you are right, leave it as is, don’t destroy the evidence, nice of you to share this bit of history. Thx vg video
Yep, That’s a tractor you mechanically restore but leave the paint and patina alone
I love them in there work clothes!
that belongs in a museum either as is or restored
I think that old work horse would look stunning restored to original
suppose a radiator cap would be a good idea????
Ive sat on this tractor 2 yars ago when ken and dick huber of oxford wisconsin bought this tractor. Not sure where it went after their auction
I would call that a wheatland 826 hydro...unusual for sure!
Looks like it needs overhauled burning oil... Would be a nice project. Most engines overhauled with hydro, the hydros failed with new power.
I don't understand who gave this a thumbs DOWN?????
👍👍👍👍👍
Close your eyes you can almost hear Billy Bob Thornton in sling blade.
"Besh not be layin new hand on dat boy"
Porch Electric has the wire harnesses for it.
I wanna see it restored
¿Cuál es el precio del remolcador agrícola Inter National?
Dont worry. Its purdy to me to.❤
IH built a 2826 same tractor
Seen one of those at a tractor parts store and with a loader and he sold it for 5500
What's the price range speculation?
Is he saying it has a hydrostatic transmission? What would be the purpose of that in what looks like more or less a Wheatland type tractor?
826 was hydro and gear drive. We had both but not at the same time.

There were a few made. We had the exactly the same tractor but it wasn't the demonstrator.
AS THEY SAID IN THE DAY OF HORSES AND BUGGYS--
"RODE HARD AND PUT AWAY WET!!"
Needs to be restored before it rots away.
I know where there are 2 of them in Manchester, Oklahoma
For real!?!?
826 Standard Gold Demonstrator Hydro's? Maybe 826 Standards, but not Gold Demonstrator Hydro's.
Rice tractors are never in good shape. I don't know why they would use standards in that water. Probably push dirt better.
Maybe the larger fenders and mostly enclosed lower operators station kept the water and mud off the platform. Like a giant wrap around mud flap lol
Don't restore it. It takes out all the caracter.
So
That’s totally trashed
