    The big one at 2:36 My older brother had a toy of that model that I eventually played with when I was a kid. The steering wheel turns the two front tires and I always loved that aspect of the toy.
    I still have it and always picture some old school farmer still using it after all these years. Brings a tear to this city slickers eye.

    Can't beat Lynyrd Skynyrd and old IH tractors. My father-in-law had an M, C, a two row corn picker, a beautiful combine (I don't know the model) with a 3 row corn head and 12' header. All like new untill the sale. If a seal started leaking. it got fixed. Tried to buy the C but when it shot through $2000, I had to walk away. Thanks for the great memories. When you make someone smile you are doing something right!

      sorry but Skynyrd and good old farming back in the 1960s & 1970s , never mixed, all the Farmers I knew back then always had good solid classic country tunes from artists like Hank Sr. Willie, Waylon, Johnny, Buck, or Merle going

    The Farmall M was the biggest tractor on the farm when we were kids. The only 56 series tractors we had were the Ertl toy tractors that went through a lot of wear and tear like our other farm toys.
    Fond memories.

      Many hours on the mighty M myself. M-450 are absolutely brute force for the HP they produce. Such fond memories of them as a kid that I've bought one in my adulthood and bringing the appreciation of them to my grandchildren now.

    Excellent video about my favourite brand of tractors!
    Regards from Australia.
    IH Australia built a local version of the 756 Wheatlander and built a slightly different version of the 666 - 766 called the "A766" (D-310 engine)
    Australia even had two unique models - "866" (D-358 engine) and "976" (DT-358 engine)
    The 976 replaced the US 966 in Australia.
    Great tractors that are still earning their keep today!

      my 666 with the American D312 is a brute.10,000 + hours and still kicking green butts.wore out 3 sets of 4x16 plows with it so far.it just keeps going.it out lasted 2 new JD 2940's.they both went to hell at 5000 hours. engines were still good but rest of tractors was shot.IH ain't dead yet. they are still working.we are running13 old IH tractors year in and year out from a 1950Cubto a 1980584 as of now the 666 is my big tractor.stil running a 1965 gasoline 504 too.

    Nice compilation. The 56 series have some of the rarest tractors. The 66s are much more common. The Melrose Park engine series that were introduced in the 66 series were so good that the DT466 is still being produced today. They are one of the few engines that are produced 45 years after they were introduced. Notable exceptions of this is the Australian built 866 which had the German built D358. There were just over 1500 produced. Most North Americans are unaware that these ever existed. And of course the 1468 and 1568 that had the DV 550 engine and were not heavily produced.

    • @michaelhalsall5684
      @michaelhalsall5684 7 лет назад

      Australia also had a tractor called the 976 which used the German DT-358 turbo diesel engine. The 976 replaced the US 966 in the Australian market.

    The 656 was harvesters answer to the 1650 Oliver. The biggest complaints I know of is the gear grinder transmission and the guaranteed rebuild of the TA. I had a 1650 and my only complaint was the lack of a clear platform. I H did better than that on the 656. Today, I can't buy a 656 at a reasonable price. They're just that popular!

      45,000? Wow! I have several with 10K+ which is about 20K on a digital tach on a tractor made today. 856 tach quit working in the early 80’s at 7800 hrs & it still gets used every day as a chore tractor. Have a 1026 with 10K showing that local dealer says should be in a museum bc it’s too pretty to get dirty. I just hope some day someone appreciates them after I’m gone bc they will certainly outlive me
