People like stew are very few and hard to come by. This is why every time I see a tractor or piece of equipment that I haven't seen before or don't have, I try and buy it. Most of my collection comes from scrap yards. Preserving history that might never be able to come back.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Stew Paquette and he was a fine man. My wife and I went on the Caribbean cruise that his museum sponsored in 2016 and I spent a whole week on a cruise ship interacting with him at various functions centered around tractors and tractor collecting. Stew Paquette was the kind of person that wanted everybody around him to be happy. I had not seen him in a couple years before his passing. My wife and I have not been to Florida in several years but we had talked about the fact that we would like to go by the museum and see Mr. Paquette atleast one more time before something happened. Time gets away fast and when the old men are gone they are gone forever.

It's sad to see such a wonderful collection go away. All too often the dream stops with the departure of the one who started it all. I wish I could've seen this...

I was looking for what each item brought at the auction. I did not know about it or never visited the museum. Looks like he did allot in 20 years and I am sure spent allot of money doing it. At least the items were not scrapped and someone has them to use. My feeling is that my hobby is my hobby so when I am gone, do with it what you want. I do not want to burden anyone thinking they have to keep my stuff.

This is why I have mixed feelings when I go to an estate sale or estate auction. This isn't just crap someone wants to get rid of, this is something someone worked for a lifetime to get all of the stuff. This was someone's dream that took a lifetime to come true just to be separated in only a few minutes. RIP Stew
