Merry Christmas to you and Joanie, can’t think of anyone more deserving of a nice gift from the FedEx gods. This is my second stab at posting my comment on another well choreographed video. I originally watched the video about a week or so ago when searching for the RVStreet Amazon link. So I stopped to hear of y’all’s nice gift, you even have a few extra for when we come to visit the RGV. See y’all soon, hopefully. Stay safe and healthy, my friend.

I’m an electrician work for a contractor and we do a lot of electrical work for a major grocery store here in San Antonio (HEB) and we’ll do thousands and thousands of dollars of work on projects because some new engineer thinks it’s a good idea. Then it will never get used and they will scrap it. We get paid. My thought is that it gets passed on to the consumer even though those projects are in the “budget”. Then people wonder why they’re grocery bill is so high.

I work for FedEx. There many reasons why they did what they did. FedEx has different branches. FedEx express. FedEx ground. Both FedEx operate totally differently. Like McDonald’s and Burger King. They both sell hamburgers but are two different company’s. FedEx is like that. So here are some of the reasons. It’s Christmas and they are too busy to come back. Or FedEx ground is owner operator and it falls on them financially and not FedEx itself. Or they are short on drivers and can’t come back to get them. And my last comment is most of the time when it’s miss delivered they hope someone will take it to them, and most people don’t report it miss delivered like you did. So then the original customer calls in and says we didn’t get our package. And they will say oh no problem we will send the order again tomorrow. For them it’s cheaper in time wise. Not money wise. Because the volume is totally insane We are so busy you have no idea. And you are right it’s billions of packages Hope this help

Thought I’d give you a fun, crazy fill in video on what happened to us down here in RGV. I’ve got a lot of great How-to RV videos coming this year, so stay tuned 💗
I really wanted to just call and get permission to enter the RV park where the the fella that originally ordered the chairs and take them to the guy to the park not far away from us. Or find out by calling that park and seeing if we could get a hold of hold him so he could pick them up. But...we have a very small car, these boxes were big and 48lbs. a piece AND as it turned out the reason we didn't feel so good is bc, Joanie & I both ended having COVID and there was no way we going anywhere or coming into contact within and chancing exposing someone else. Whether we went to him or he came to us FexEX already handled it and it was the safest option for everybody.

One thing we don't know is the cost to manufacture. Knowing Mark ups, it's probably $50 a box to make those. So to the company, it's not a 600 loss, but only 100. Add to that, the helpfulness of writeoffs at the end of the year, it would make sense for the seller to not be so worried about it. If it was insurance through FedEx, it didn't come out of their pocket, so why would they care. They can do a claim for the 600, that goes to the seller, and they send out another set. Only one hurt is what ever company covers their losses, which is a drop in the bucket for them, so in the end it cost the seller nothing, it cost FedEx nothing, so it's often the preferred choice.

Nothing in life can prepare us for the death of a loved one.
With death, there is loss, and with every loss, there will be grief.
The currents and waves of being lost and frightened must be overwhelming right now. Sometimes, some people can get lost in their brokenness. Right now, I can only encourage you to-as you said, “keep putting one foot in front of the other and hopefully find your way”. I’m confident you WILL find your way and if there is anything I can do to help please contact me on my FB page that you and Aaron have communicated with me in the past, so that conversation will be private. Not sure how much help I could be, but I’m willing and able if I can.

Well they said they will take care of it. They said they would send out a new order to me. Not sure what happen to the original order. Later that year I had another order shipped to me through FedX and the order came a week late. This time the insulin was no good. Was suppose to come 2 day. They told me to hang on to it they will have FedX pick it up when they dropped the new one off. Well they dropped off the new one but never picked it up. I called the pharmacy and they told me how to dispose of it.

I had something similar happen about 10 years ago. I had ordered 2 special custom Kilts from Scotland. So one day the Fed-ex truck pulled up and out comes the driver with a rather large package. I thanked him and off he went. i'm (like I guess you did) thought that was a rather large box for two kilts. I opened it up and between my military time and now aviation work determined that this rather large object was some sort of electronic gear for a military aircraft. I called them back and said that this was NOT my package and it needed to be returned. They were out late that day and took the box. About 2 days later they showed up again and this time gave me a box that was of reasonable size and on inspection I decided it was in fact what I ordered. About then the driver came back to the door with one more package. Yep, they tried to give me back the military item. It took MANY phone calls but it turns out it was to go to some USAF base in CA. Go figure.

Hi Martin, hope all is well - great videos always, big fan here as you know.... made some big purchases lately via your store... have 2 questions for you 1) When using Rejex on the wind shield do you use the buffer too or just apply by hand? 2) Have you ever, or do you know of anyone that has a video out there on Installing a NEW BAY into your RV..... I have a 24.1 THOR AXIS 2014, there is room just above and to the left of the Generator bay and to the Right of the Shore power input on the driver side of the coach, where there is a void from underneath - it would be a perfect spot to create a bay for holding tools and possibly a small wetbay installation If I were to cut the outer shell and install a bay liner (all supported mind you) with an access panel - do you know anyone (other than myself) crazy enough to do this or is this something that should just not be copnsidered from a structural point of view?

    • @RVstreet
      @RVstreet  2 года назад

      1) I apply RejeX by hand and rub it out with my microfiber cloth. BUT....as you'll see in my next video, if I'm low on RejeX I use RaineX which is also great. Watch and I'll explain why I like it and why I don't.
      2) I have not, nor do I know of anyone that has installed an extra bay storage area. Can it be done....I'm sure it can. Would I try it...probably not. Why? Because if I make any mistake in the cut, making the door, locating the hinges, the locks or anything like that, guess what, I'm screwed. I'd leave it alone OR come up with another idea to utilize that space.

I think it had something to do with a law that says if something is delivered to your home by mistake, it's yours. And you are not obligated to return, or pay for it. I think it's a consumer protection law. So picking up the merchandise may have created some kind of liability issue for FedEx.

Unfortunately they would pick them up and bring them back to fedX and reprocess them. Then they would have to set up for a new delivery. All this cost them more money and time then just to reorder the item and resend it. It sounds so dumb to you and me. Even if they were delivered 1/2 mile away from the correct address. Sounds easier just to grab them from you and drop them off at the right place all in one trip.. it not that simple. It should be but it's not.
Enjoy your new chairs. They look great with your new privacy screen!

Had time to put chairs together, but no time move the boxes to a neighbor.

MARTIN.. I'll be your Huckleberry and answer your question in a way you'll appreciate..
.. but first.. please tell me plainly.. is there any way to get Air Conditioning without running the engine? .. we're touring musicians that are going to LIVE in our RV full-time again and we don't use ANY appliances.. not kitchen or even the bathroom (nobody's gonna poop in my car .. lol) .. so, with solar or generator (or both) is there any practical way to get A/C at night reasonably?
I enjoy the way you think.. and I'll explain to you (mechanically) exactly why something so ridiculously silly (like your FREE chairs) only makes sense in today's society .. do you have an email that I may send you?.. it'll be better than writing everything in comments .. lol

Solar to run AC is not an option reasonably. Don't know what type of RV you have but if you have an on board generator that's at least 2200 watts with 120V outlet you can run one. Not quite enough info to answer your question better than that. 😎

@@RVstreet we haven't bought one yet, but it's probably going to be another 20 year old one in good shape.. it's fairly impressive that you can get a decent RV for like 10 or 15 grand in good working order.. since gas ⛽️ is so high and COVID stopped a lotta travel.. I'm going to be asking you a bunch of questions you'll enjoy answering.. 😉 .. I may even ask your advice which one to get when we start shopping.. we'll be buying in May.. leaving in June.. the ONE upgrade we're going to do is stabilization.. you convinced me of that!! .. scary 😨 EVERY time an 18-wheeler passes us.. you driving one-handed hit me!! .. may I email you?

@@Chicago_Carey I highly recommend that you take more than a month to get a 20yr. old rig ready. Now I will help you if I can, but once you buy it, I highly recommend you join a couple of RV forums to ask questions and upload pictures of what you will need help with. I don't do email but you can hit me up on FB messenger from my YT home page. As a friendly reminder, don't forget my Amazon Store to get things you'll need.

It's great way to say thank you.
