We received our new Zinus 8” Mattress LAST WINTER. Not this winter. The Zinus Green Tea Mattress that we bought is in my Amazon Store in the “Mattress, Bedding and More” category www.amazon.com/shop/rvstreet For the partnership with made with Mattress Insiders, they have other types of mattresses, custom mattresses, sizes, toppers, bedding and more. Be sure to use our dedicated link below to get the right mattress for you. They also run many discounts year round so be sure to look at the top of their website for any coupon codes. shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1525070&u=2975454&m=96524&urllink=&afftrack= Concerning the Den Dry I put under the mattress, The Gorilla tape idea to hold the Den Dry still and keep it from moving when we changed the linens or rotated the mattress didn’t work so well. So I borrowed one of those large, silver, hand grip staplers and stapled it to the wood platform. That worked fantastic. I didn't mean to imply is was easy but it can be done and I've seen it done several times. But your right, going to a heavier strut is a much better choice and easier for sure. I'm going to add this to my pinned comment at the top.
I switched to a Zinus Green Tea 12" king in the house about 5 years ago, and an 8" green tea short queen in the Winnebago about 2 years ago, and have been more than happy. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it has cured my back pain. I do wish I had gone with the 12" in the RV to be a little less firm, but I also have a wardrobe that I wanted to be able to open with the slide closed. The prices are now double what I paid, but I would still do it again with no second thought. I was not aware of the moisture issue, so I'll check that out. Thanks!
We love our sleep number mattress and maybe one day, we'll get one for our Class A, queen size bed. I could see putting down a "breather" pad first, before laying a sleep number mattress on that wood, seams, piano hinge... There's places that would eventually pinch and cause leaks.
Martin, you are great, I really enjoy your videos. Always so straightforward and easy to understand. Believe me, I have your videos bookmarked so as soon as I can get out there I will have all the wonderful tips and help you have provided.
I just found your channel looking for information on 50,30,20 amp adapters...very informative. I gotta say I'm getting a serious Break Dancer vibes from your intro outfit...Love It!
Ah well.......I have a video on adapters and other important stuff too: ruclips.net/video/U9nb40m9-IY/видео.html All my videos are here: ruclips.net/user/RVstreetplaylists I carry all this and more in my Amazon store too: www.amazon.com/shop/rvstreet thx Michael for stopping by. Would love to have you "Stick Around" 🔧
Thank you RV Street, I have been needing to call mattress insider for a new mattress and this video now gives me more confidence in doing so, plus the Den-dry is going to be a must buy through your links...Thanks for all the great info you and Joni share with us.
Just this yr my wife and I picked up a new mattress. We found out on our first camping trip in the rv. That the dealer switched out the nice big thick factory mattress. For a thin torn stained used mattress. Needless to say, we were not happy. So, hence the new mattress. Custom made because it needed a hinge. So I sent them the measurements and they Custom made us one. But, Custom mattresses are not refundable. . . Ours is great. Not cheap. . . 8" gel mattress insiders. Queen. Luxury model if I remember correctly. 🤪
Couldn’t wait to see how you wrestled it into the Coach! We opened ours in the coach bedroom! Had the time to allow it to grow. It is really comfortable.
FYI, we have den dry and found moisture on top of the plastic squares and underneath. However our king bed is on a slide above the plastic storage areas...30 foot class A. It is a flip mattress so it gets folded up to have slide come in. We periodically have to flip the head end of mattress up to air it out underneath, run dehumidifier, propane and electric heat. SO, we did not adhere den dry to the plywood/fake wood beneath it. We have not removed the plywood base of bed (head part)...bottom part is chock full of electronics...
Thank you for the video. Great information and recommendations. We live in Arizona, so moisture has never been problem inside the coach., but during our recent trips to the southeast states we had to use a dehumidifier. The under bed liner is a great idea, even for the desert southwest. I also never thought about insulating the bed platform. Again, excellent ideas! Thank you
I put a 1.5in topper on my half of our mattress because my husband likes a firm one so he enjoys the bamboo mattress that came in our camper but it's too firm for me. When it comes time to change it out we'll get the two twins to he can get a firm one and I can get a soft one.
you could make you bed base more breathable by cutting it into a slatted form with a jigsaw, or put rows of holes in it with a spade bit - it would reduce weight in the RV too
Hey guys. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 and Happy New Year. I've been Martinizing my 06 Coachman 3480-DS. Crazy ked graphics is latest project. Roof reseal is next & awning toppers replaced. Enjoy you both so much. In Apache Junction till April 2022. Consider a slide out adjustment- moving level if possible. May God bless you 🙏 guys. Steve and Lisa Robinson. Always.
Thank you Steve and Lisa. We truly enjoy connecting with all of you who are fans of our channel. Seriously ! 💗 Over time Joanie & I feel like we have an extended family thru our channel. Martinizing your coach is a great feeling isn't it ? Gives you confidence that everything is up to snuff and reliable. I've been busy too this month doing a bunch of things. We have our Christmas Video coming out tomorrow night and what we say in this video includes people like you. God Bless, stay safe and hopefully we can connect up some day and meet you two. That would be awesome. 🙏
I caught a quick glimpse of the 2 x 4 or 2x 6 that was added inside the storage box under the bed to help minimize the wood platform from sagging. Did you use just that one cross support or is there another one?
I’ve been looking at different options. Sir Lloyd Benson doesn’t like firm like I do so we will have to check yours out and see just how firm yours is! See ya on the 30th 😊😊😊
Hi Martin, another great video, thanks so much. We just installed our Mattress Insider 8" Short King mattress and Den Dry underneath and will report back on how our first sleep goes in a couple of weeks. Quick question for you - have you found a good source for RV size comforters? I can find linens no problem, but all the comforters I can find are regular king size, so way too big. I'm at the point of ordering one and having an alteration shop trim it to fit. Any wisdom you can pass on is greatly appreciated!
Well no real wisdom but I have some in my Amazon store that comes in multiple sizes in the " Mattresses, Bedding and More" category. You could also go to Amazon using my link and then search for what you're looking for on Amazon, put it in the cart and check out. www.amazon.com/shop/rvstreet Or, have you tried a regular retail store like BedBath & Beyond? I'm sure you can find something out there that doesn't require a alteration shop.
Gee Roy I wouldn't know and I don't want to mislead you by guessing. It would be best to call Mattress Insiders and ask them about their firm mattress line. shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1525070&u=2975454&m=96524&urllink=&afftrack=
Martin, I appreciate your channel, and hope to use some of what you have preached. I do have a question: have you added an inverter, and if so, do you have a step by step video? Thanks, Dan Alaska

@@vickidavison1842 It's holding up just fine. It's truly still like the day we bought it. It's the best mattress Joanie & I have ever had hands down. Still nice and firm and no valleys where we sleep.
We got our RV King mattress (72” x80” ) from Wilderness Mattress. Right now it is still in the box. As soon as our Motorhome gets back from the shop we will install it. Hopefully tomorrow.

Adding a second strut is bad advice, more tricky than you implied, due to struts interfering with each other. It’s better to buy a heavier duty strut. Keep it simple.
