i love your profile picture
Thank you! Helped me with my solos! haha!
The fact that little Freshmen me beat out all the seniors who auditioned for the 'I Dreamed a Dream' Solo will forever be in my heart. Lol
Well done haha!
Dude I'm a junior trying out for that now
I got the solo!
Same
just sang this tonight at my school’s chorus concert!!!! it was my first time singing soprano and i’m very proud to say i was able to hit the high notes 😂😂
my voice is very tired now tho 😂
Nat’s Not Famous good job, i can sing the soprano notes but i prefer auto
Good job
Try actually performing this show. I've done it. It is very vocally demanding and will exhaust your voice. 😂😂😂
My school is currently singing this arrangement. It's so fun and it really gets stuck in your head!
Bring Him Home is a little hard tho...
Trust me when I say it'll never not be stuck in your head
My choir did just Bring Him Home it was so much fun to sing
Did you’re choir sing the creepy part about the guy taking her innocence, cause mine didn’t and we were ok with that.
awesomelego24 awesomelego24 our choir skipped bring him home 😥
We are singing the whole thing at my school
I sang this last year as a junior; I sang Phantom this year, but I still miss this so, so much. It was definitely my favorite medley we’ve sang.
I miss choir 😭
I do too. This is so touching
At the end of the day you're another day older
And that's all you can say for the life of the poor
It's a struggle, it's a war
And there's nothing that anyone's giving
One more day, standing about, what is it for?
One day less to be living.
At the end of the day you're another day colder
And the shirt on your back doesn't keep out the chill
And the righteous hurry past
They don't hear the little ones crying
And the winder is coming on fast, ready to kill
One day nearer to dying!
At the end of the day there's another day dawning
And the sun in the morning is waiting to rise
Like the waves crash on the sand
Like a storm that'll break any second
There's a hunger in the land
There's a reckoning still to be reckoned
And there's gonna be hell to pay
At the end of the day!
This is beautiful, I'm proud of being able to sing this arrangement with the choir I'm in!
I remember a rainy night in Huntsville, AL just after Christmas. I was returning to Memphis from Alabama, where I had visited my family. I overnighted in Huntsville. I had just bought the new Susan Boyle cd, and I played it over and over on that trip. That night I was lonely, and "I Dreamed a Dream" was the perfect song.
I came here from listening to the epic 10th anniversary concert. My mom (who got me interested in musicals) used to do gigs singing in all the "demo track" choir recordings like this one for Hal Leonard and such, and I'm about 99% sure I can hear her voice on this. I'll have to share this with her and see if she remembers it!
Did she remember it?
@@BatmanFan611 Sadly, no... it seems the 1% of me that was unsure was right! She _did_ remember doing a demo of "I Dreamed a Dream" for them, and she's done lots of ensemble medleys like this too, but just not this particular one. Guess I don't have the ear for distinct voices I thought I did. :-P
I saw a high school production of Les miserables man the young people in the cast they sang so beautifully and believe me it was something I wont forget.
0:06 - At the end of the day
5:18 - castle on a cloud
8:20 - on my own
It has been my dream to perform Les Miserables in its entirety. But in choir I have sang some songs from this of mine favorite musicals however I would love to sing this in any new choir as I just completed my school choir years in college. :-) !
This brings back so many powerful memories of my 9th grade year
WarriorCatsOhYeah lol
Same I also did this my 9th grade year
Yea we sang this in 8th grade bc our long term sub thought we could handle it... loll. I thought it was good for middle schoolers tho
same
So excited to preform two solos (bring him home and the finale female solo) and the small group in castle on a cloud next week for my 8th grade concert along with all of the other soloists and choir. Les Mis has been my favorite musical since I was very young so to be able to have this experience is great. Wish us luck!
I enjoyed this engagement of the Les Mis. I think that the emotions and the conter-melody that the men do fits Les Mis perfectly
Couldn't of said it any better myself, Star Brother. It's because of you that I got interested in this medley lol
i miss this so much i sang it my sophomore year and it’s so good😥
At the end of the day you’re another day older,

What is it for?
One day less to be living.

There’s a reckoning still to be reckoned,
It’s us who’ll have to pay
At the end of the day.
There was a time when men were kind
When their voices were soft
And their words inviting
There was a time when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time
Then it all went wrong
I dreamed a dream in time gone by,
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that god would be forgiving.
But the tigers come at night
(But the tigers come at night)
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they tear your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came.
And still I dreamed he’d come to me
That we would live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I’m living,
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.
There is a castle on a cloud
I like to go there in my sleep
Aren’t any floors for me to sweep
Not in my castle on a cloud
There is a room that’s full of toys
There are a hundred boys and girls
Nobody shouts or talks to loud
Not in my castle on a cloud
There is a lady all in white
Holds me and sings a lullaby
She’s nice to see and she’s soft to touch
She says ‘’Cosette, I love you very much’’
I know a place where no-one’s lost
I know a place where no-one cries
Crying at all is not allowed
Not in my castle on a cloud.
Do you hear the people sing,
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the people who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums,
There is a life about to start when tomorrow comes,
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight that will give you the right to be free?
Do you hear the people sing,
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the people who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums,
There is a life about to start when tomorrow comes!
On my own, pretending he’s beside me.
All alone I walk with him ‘til morning.
Without him I feel his arms around me.
And when I loose my way
I close my eyes
And he has found me.
In the rain the pavement shines like silver.
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever.
And I know it’s only in my mind
That I’m talking to myself and not to him.
And although I know that he is blind,
Still I say there’s a way for us
I love him but every day I’m learning
All my life I’ve only been pretending
Without me his world will go on turning
The world is full of happiness that I have never known.
I love him, i love him,
I love him,
But only on my own.
God on high hear my prayer,
In my need you have always been there.
You can take you can give.
Let him be let him live.
If I die let me die,
Let him live.
Bring him home, bring him home
Bring him home.
On this page I write my last confession

Thank you for reading and enjoy
The encore group i sing with performed this at a fundraiser on valentines to help raise money for a food pantry, it was a lot of fun
This is the most requested Broadway Medley from my student groups. Great memories of performing it many times over the years.
It was very emotional at the end of the film version of les mis.
This is such a beautiful arrangement of music! I am so proud to be singing soprano!! I am hoping to get the 'I dreamed a dream' solo! I will keep ya'll updated :D
Update: I did not get the I dreamed a dream solo nor any solo but something ironic is the fact that all of the favorites and the daughter of the director got solos! Theater is *so* fun....
My favorite part too
the struggle is real girl
I sang this for choir years ago when I was in 7th grade, I had the solo at 8:20, it was so fun!
that’s the one i have right now lol
Lea Solonga in the 10th anniversary concert she was so talented with her voice and she returned to the stage as Fontaine for the 25th anniversary concert at the O2 arena in London.
she was the only performer from thhe 10th Anniversary to come back for the 25th concert, correct?
She was young in the 10th anniversary concert, just a young kid.
She played the street urchin in the 10th anniversary concert.
I sang this in Chorus when I was in 8th grade in my spring concert. When I was a freshman in high school, concert choir couldn’t fit into my schedule because learning center had to meet everyday. I was very depressed. Every time I listen to this song, it reminds me of my last choral concert before freshman year of high school.
Still debating to audition for a solo but maybe I’ll man up, maybe I’ll update whoever is reading this…
We’re performing Les Mis for our variety show and my friend got the solo for John when he’s dying. Did you ever get it?
Why is there no One Day More?
or Master Of The House, or Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. my GUESS is since this a medley of songs, they picked ones they could easily transition from one to the other.
No Stars :(
It’s a great piece but puts the difficulty up several notches.
I absolutely love Les Misérables and couldn't make it to my last choir meeting so hearing we were doing les Misérables was very exciting and now I have to have a solo
I am preforming this in two days and I got the bring him home solo I’m so nervous but excited
Congratulations! It’s such a beautiful one.
Just sang this with my school last week. Super fun and an awesome show ender! My favorite part is "Do You Hear The People Sing"
My theatre teacher recommended this to me, and it’s wonderful. I certainly appreciate it!
my chorus fpr school is singing this and I have a solo in I dreamed a dream 💕😍
This is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever sung. It is truly incredible.
10:39 Bring him home
God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there
You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die, let me die
Let him live
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home
So this is a song I'm singing in the concert and I still don't know it. Doing some cramming
When Velijean dies it makes you teary eyed-i get emotional when he dies.
Hugh Jackman as Velijean when he gives up the ghost it is very emotional for all.
I’m getting flashbacks from when I had to sing his in middle school 😂😂😂
Can't wait to see Les Miserables back on the stage....the music and the most beautiful songs loved by people around the world.
Listening to this after getting the solo in I dreamed a dream, literally gave me chills... Can't wait to perform!
Sang this arrangement last year, it was a very good time
I enjoyed it
Ahh the memories! My highschool choir sang this!
The 25th anniversary concert of Les Miserables was taped at the O2 arena and the finale featured the original 85 company and the Queen Theater company and the Barbicon company and the 4 jean Valjeans.
Love this arrangement, we picked it out with an orchestra that my choir is playing with, and needless to say it's a bit slower than this. Still sounds amazing
University, colleges mount their own productions of Les Miserables.wow they do a awesome job with the music and the orchestra, leaves you a bit emotional with some songs.
We're singing in this for my school
I’m singing the first I dreamed a dream solo at my high school concert as a freshman and I’ve been listening to that part over and over trying to figure out how to not make it sound so weird when I sing it😅 okay but seriously any tips because I tried singing with vibrato I just sound really strange because I’m young ahhh I don’t know
I dont nornally listen to choir songs but this is so beautiful that i can not listen to it
I like this Christmas carol version
Micheal Burgess, the original Veljean in the Canadian national touring company of Les miserables, after his run, colm Wilkerson took over the role.
Alfie Bow he was awsome as Veljean in the london west end production of Les miserables. He and Micheal Ball starred in the recent staged concert of Les miserables.
We’re doing this for concert choir in September
I sang this song for pops concert my junior year.
Im Back In High School Again (1990) Junior Year When We Did This
performing this my junior year! (this year)
13:38 is my favorite^^
Colm Wilkerson in the role of Veljean in the original London west end production of Les miserables and the Broadway cast of Les miserables.
10:35 bring him home
I put a link on here to another youtube with an opportunity to sing this with a London cast member. It seems to have disappeared. Did youtube remove it?!
I'm going to be singing this song with the entire highschool choir, I'm so happy I get to sing soprano 1 instead soprano 2/Alto
I like high notes:> I think the highest note I can hit is A6-
Lea Solonga was the street urchin in the 10 anniversary concert, and was Fantine in the 25 anniversary concert and Samantha Barks was in the film version as well in the 25 anniversary concert.
The 'street urchin' has a name, her name is Éponine :)
Thanks for the info .
8:15 is me to my 2D boyfriend ;-;
I am singing suprano in this tomorrow 😁
This song was everyone in the choir’s favorite in spring of 9th grade
Not too big of a fan; I was really hoping that they'd end with One Day More when it jumped to Act II so suddenly, but the staple number was nowhere to be found. As nice as the singing was, it felt too stiff, leaving much to be desired.
Courtney it’s just there so you can hear how the arrangements sounds. It’s to help people in music figure out if it’s great for their students or not.
I agree about One Day More, but I'd be sad if they did use because they'd shorten it. Maybe after this piece they choir preforming should do One Day More in its entirety.
Same with a heart full of love THATS MY FAV

I Dreamed A Dream by Caterina Catherine
There was a time when people were kind
When their voices were soft and their words inviting
There was a time when love was blind and the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time
Then it all went wrong...
I Dreamed A Dream in times gone by
When hopes were high and lives worth living
I dreamed, that love would never die
I dreamed, that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid and dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be loved
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hopes apart
As they turn your dreams to shame
I've slept a Summer by my time
That filled my days with endless wonders
It took my childhood in it's stride!
But, that was gone when Winter came
And still I dream that come to me
That I would live the years all together
But there are dreams that cannot be and there are storms I cannot weather
I had a Dream my life would be
So different from this Hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed!
Now life has killed the dream
I Dreamed
Alfie BOE wow he was so good in the role of veljean.
i love this, but i’m personally offended that one day more isn’t included
Colm Wilkerson was the priest in the film version.
11.00 Bring him home

They shoulda sang castle on a cloud slower...

Hate it. The best chord is obviously at the end of one day more but where is it
AWESOME!!-it captures the smash musical loved by audiences all around the world.
Most of the show’s best songs aren’t in this lol
This actually made me feel sick. Don’t get me wrong, It was perfect in form, but Les Mis was not written for a chorus. It’s the character put into these songs that make them so great. When you go from telling a story to just singing the notes, you lose all that. A good effort, but it was failed from the start.
Maybe, but I sung this arrangement before having heard or watched Les Mis, and even without having seen the story at that time, I still found the music incredibly powerful and moving. Whether that has to do with the arrangement or the songs just being good enough to survive without context, I can't say. And then when I saw the full play, I now had the context and could enjoy them even more.
I had sung this arrangement with my choir class but everyone in the class was also in drama so we truly did put emotion into it. We love the movie and soundtrack and you are right, Les Miserables is a song that should not be a choir arrangement but when you have the right emotion and right people singing the arangemet, it sounds beautiful.
This version isn’t the greatest I can admit. My school did it 10x better
Hoseok Biased only songs like at the end of the day and one day more should. But I still agree
Jack Woodbury MY chorus sang this do HOW if it has different parts PLUS u PUSH THEM to make THEM better
