Thank you so much for this; esp working out the dimensions. I took your idea and put a second storey on the basic cabin, turning the second storey into an L shape to the left as you face it. The bottom part is a rec area/food servery with a couple of dunnies at the outside back, tucked in between, the top floor is now a dorm for the farm workers. The unscrappable mattresses now serve as "emergency" beds for extra caravans or /cough/ packages for the railroad (headcanon, of course; this settlement is a Minuteman place in my current game). I used a bunch of half barn walls with the "greenhouse" windows on the top so everyone has a great view over to the broken highway.
What I love about these tips and lessons is that they are incredibly useful even when you do use mods. The settlement mods I use just removes the settlement size limits and allows for a (limited) building stuff outside the settlement boundaries, but the basic fitting/snapping and placement of things is still the same. Aside from that, all I have are some more items to build with. The basic mechanics are the same. Which order to place things, using adjacent placement to then place the piece you do want to place, the rug and pillar glithces, these tips have all been great. :)
If you take the floor out then add scaffolding… add scaffolding floors…the ramps snap then replace the scaffold with the floor again. 😊 Love the building btw 🎉
I can’t believe I’ve spent nearly an hour trying to fix the same flooring after I saw the house you decked out for MJ, and when I’ve just rewatched it, I realised even you couldn’t put the wood across the whole porch! I thought I was going mad, I tried all sorts of different ways of pillar glitching it! I think I’ll fill it with pot plants instead. Watching you definitely makes me more creative, I managed to put my fusion reactor in the metal shed in Sunshine, then I couldn’t get a door on the front, so I pillar glitched a door frame, added the door, then deleted the doorframe, leaving the door intact! 😊
All your tips and tricks inspire me to try different things my own way. That's how, Thanks to you, is how I keep enjoying getting around the game's limitations.

Always so realistic. I hung three (concrete section) metal floor discs over my pool table that "hovered" above which I mounted my lights under. We can sacrifice gravity's rules on certain occasions. I built them with a sunken half wall concrete with a half wall on top of that to get the right height, then removed the verticals and hung the lights, THEN I placed the table centered under the whole thing. I never see that get used though, but I do see them at my bars.

Love your vids!! Did the SH one,but used the blue house in the cul-de-sac. Didnt fit perfect, but it worked. Wish id had the forethought to put generator & conduits in. Tried 10 Pines. Not as good , but your vid gave me the idea of barn walls. Regular wall werent high enough to get past old structure so i built inside the old one. Only one tile wide but enough for 2 beds , 2 chairs and a table. A lot ni er than the shack & mattresses. Put 2 turrets on each corner of house as well, so no matter which spawn point pops, a turret can reach the invaders.
I've stumbled around on this shack all kinds of ways and I actually just thought about doing this after rewatching your 'how to re roof/wall & floor sanctuary vids. Now u make the video right on time! Really appreciate the awesome work and taking the time to put out a great product. Excellent video
I've seen some crazy builds, including one that turned Sanctuary in a fortress. I've had an idea for some time that involves the concrete walls/structures to create a perimeter and then using the VaultTech parts to create living areas. Basically an above ground vault. Trouble is resources. I'd need a hell of a lot of metal and concrete to build it all.
I love the fact that you gives always good lessons through the year Thanks for everything this game is amazing and i kept watching with my dad we appreciate your video and because of you I take good time of building those house
Very nice work. Although I set up that house after seeing some of your earlier videos about 2 years ago. I made a second floor. I dropped the house using the rug glitch you showed. The porch you did is a great idea. I didn’t think of that one. That was awesome. Excellent video as always.
Yes, definitely a second floor! If I expand on that house I'd do that too. Also the "porch" could conceivably become a floor for the entire settlement like I did at Graygarden: ruclips.net/video/P6n1-POCUrM/видео.html
Gonna have to go back through your videos. This is the first I've seen. Just started F4 back up after years and decided I'd actually put some effort into settlements for once and not just do the main quest.
Watching these makes me so glad I have the Scrap Everything mod. I just scrap that old house and I do build a barn, but brand new. I love the barns, those are probably my most built structure. Always loved old barns and New England needs some, even in the post acopalypse.
I literally just did my remodel in tenpines bluff and it looks nothing like this haha I just built my house above it and added stairs 😂 but hey I decorated it pretty well! My trick for broken walls is putting the wooden gun racks and they all snap together so I line it up and then they all snap, I usually try my best to use a wall if it's a big hole or something but sometimes the walls just will not go where I want them
That house always gives me fits, I never tried the conduit trick there, thanks. Question? Any ideas on how to install the cycled lights across an open area? (no walls or rafters) the only way I could do it was to attach them to long conduit pieces....I would love your input....

Only one tile wide but enough for 2 beds , 2 chairs and a table. A lot ni er than the shack & mattresses. Put 2 turrets on each corner of house as well, so no matter which spawn point pops, a turret can reach the invaders.
Maggiejo's place was so cool. So nice to do that for peeps :D
So good to see you doing a build video. You have inspired me so much for my Fallout building.
Oh my, a new settlement video 🥰
I love the fact that you gives always good lessons through the year
Thanks for everything this game is amazing and i kept watching with my dad we appreciate your video and because of you I take good time of building those house
What a cool personified space for Maggie Jo.
Another nicely done build🤠
Love your editing style and great at explaining!
Thanks so much!
I used to do things like this a lot. I have since downloaded place anywhere mod and have no regrets. Best mod for building imo. :)
Imagine what this guy could do with mods.
Really enjoyed this one! Looking forward to more!
This guy is literally the goat
I literally just did my remodel in tenpines bluff and it looks nothing like this haha I just built my house above it and added stairs 😂 but hey I decorated it pretty well!
My trick for broken walls is putting the wooden gun racks and they all snap together so I line it up and then they all snap, I usually try my best to use a wall if it's a big hole or something but sometimes the walls just will not go where I want them
Thanks so much for your creative ideas!!!!!😍
Cool use of that house ruin. Some build concepts I hadn't thought of. :)
Wow, I did not that could be done!! I’ve subscribed to this channel and am going to start a new FO4 soon 👍🏼
Awesome, and welcome aboard!
That house always gives me fits, I never tried the conduit trick there, thanks. Question? Any ideas on how to install the cycled lights across an open area? (no walls or rafters) the only way I could do it was to attach them to long conduit pieces....I would love your input....
Did this technique last night and it looks pretty good. I've been playing around with Croup Manor and it looks sweet. Next up Sanctuary...
Recently began playing Fallout 4 for the first time. Watching your videos sold me on buying the DLC. Bethesda/Steam owes you a tip.
Looking for the command to "group select" on a PC, but we'll get there. I've only been playing for a couple of weeks in my off time.
Thanks man. Yeah they owe me! Hehe.
As for group-selecting on a PC, try holding down [E].
@@SkooledZone Hey, that worked. Here I was trying to find a combination of keys when all I needed to do was mash the button & hold it instead of just tapping it.
Also went to your video on how to set mines for dummies like myself. Thanks. Your channel is definitely helping & it is great because it isn't heavy with spoilers for someone like myself who is approaching the game as brand new.
Fellow fallout fan here nice build tour 🎉
Watched this today and helped a lot! Thank you!
bro your vids are still as good as ever
wow, really nice job with this!!
This was awesome. Makes me wanna jump on FO4 again lol
I love your voice ❤
Your videos are so easier to watch 😊 Keep up the good work 👏
Thank you so much 😀
