The Amazing Digital Circus gives me the vibes of "So that's what the characters do when you're not playing the game" or "Huh, the npcs live normally without us there after all"
I suspect pomni's arrival was due to Kaufmo's abstraction as they seem to have happened at the same time. If true this would suggest there is a "que" of characters waiting to spawn but blocked due to too many existing characters in game, with "abstracting" effectively removing the character as far as the game is concerned.
I thought the cellar looked a bit like a sensory deprivation tank (dark with water at the bottom) and was a place the over stimulated abstracts could stay in. We saw that kaufmo’s vision was blurred with glaring light, maybe caused by so many eyes darting around at the bright colors and lights, that he couldn’t focus and was lashing out at what hurt him.
8:52 Possible foreshadowing of this? Hear me out! The gloink queen says that everything must be gloinks and that even God is a gloink. In this moment after staring into the void, her eyes looking like Gloink eyes makes me think she saw the eyes of God and ascended in a way, maybe even unlocking her memories on what she has to do to free everyone. It makes me think that the gloinks were the original bugs/virus that eventually lead to the problems that made the game trap people inside of it.
I have 2 tadc theories. 1. It was never meant to be a video-game. At least not the version we're watching. This one was made or altered to be some crazy social experiment and the characters are just coppies of employee personalities so that the simulation can run. 2. Jax is a hacker and that's why he has all the keys.
This theory might be right. The creator said “ I have no mouth but I must scream” was one of the inspiration for the show. It’s about six humans who were being tortured by AI and forced to stay alive forever by machines, the main character killed the other humans when the AI wasn’t looking saving them but sacrificing himself

Here's my theory an old timey recalled VR headset before VR was a thing had many deaths attributed to the game so it got recalled hence the extremely old commercial and our mc only got sucked into this mess later because they were a video game collector and just so happen to find this old game

Maybe the reason for why the characters cant remember anything is to “ensure privacy”? Imagine being a beta tester for a brand new game, that uses brain scanning technology to make it more immersive. Wouldn’t you be worried about a company getting your memories? The company thought of that, and therefore made the scan specifically avoid all memories before the scan. This would make people less concerned about their privacy, and therefore the game would be more successful.
So if Pomni is the Jesus figure, then wouldn't that mean that whomever is closest to her will end up betraying her like Judas? Going based on the sitting arrangement at the end in referenceto The Last Supper, it'll either be Kinger, Ragatha or Gangle. My money is on Ragatha since she is being set up to be the nicest to Pomni and the sense of abandonment already giving fuel for why Ragatha would want to betray Pomni.
Abstract which when your glitch out and being corrupted it seems that you go crazy and give up on your sanity from being trapped in the digital circus for years and obsessed over finding a exit door I believe the human brain got scanned and the avatar version of yourself is taken there to be another character added but with memory loss and no way out

Why did he tenderly stroke his own frozen Avatar's face if not to feel it, and with feeling comes the possibility of pain? Why did Jax get mad when a Glonk smacked him in the head?
Having the game need to reboot in order to fix the glitch as well as “free” the characters from the glitch would be both cool and obviously scary if there is no guarantee it would work.😥 The reboot idea reminds me of “Wreck-It Ralph” some in that regard.😅
What if: when pomni Enter the TADC in same time when Kaufmo abstracted. What if Pomni in some way know that the kaufmo abstracted and go to the game to save him.
I don't get it. How could the Demiurge use the light of higher divine beings to create humans if he doesn't even realize that there are beings above him in the first place ?

The physical world itself is considered the trapped light of a divine being in some cases, and thus by just re-arranging the materials, that light is caught in a physical body now. In one case the higher light (named Sophia), is tricked by another higher being into going into the lower world where the demiurge eats her light. In one case she even gives her spark to humanity so that they themselves can escape out with her.
I don't like the "the characters are just ai brain scans" theory personally since it just feels too simple and overdone. Although I do feel in the end there is no escape for those trapped in the game.
Same I hope its not that bc it feels too similar to one show on Netflix (even down to the theory that the characters will accept their fate in the end and live out their lives in the vr game). It's definitely darker to think their human counterparts in the real world are living their lives unaware of their avatars suffering tho 😅

Are they going to make this into a You Tube series like Helluva Boss? Or is this "pilot" just meant to try to get itself picked up by A24 or another studio? I don't understand where all of this speculation is coming from based off of a single pilot.
If Clone Theory ends up being true, and I normally HATE clone theory with a burning passion, I love the idea of the characters all getting to program the game together by the end. I want this story to have a happy ending more than anything.

When you really think about it. The digital circus feels less like it was meant to be a game and more like a torture device.
