The last part where Gangle almost abstracts could be a thing in the show. One of the characters has a breakdown and almost abstracts but Pomni or one of the others snaps them out of it.
abstraction is supposed to be an irreversible process

Gangle's facemasks are such a mystery to me. Do they affect her emotions or is she infact always sad but literally puts on a happy face?
Theory:Gangle has multiple masks but sad face is her real face. Happy masks are one of the few things that keep her happy
Also I think Gangle demands Caine a mask whenever a happy mask breaks
