I was waiting to see how well it would crawl after you modified yours before pulling the trigger on one. You sold me on it, gonna get one tomorrow and do similar mods. Thanks for the great video as always and showing us what it’s capable of. With rear steer and more mods it should be a real line killer. 👍👍

I’ve been happy with mine modified. I did mouse trap the other day on 1.9 ruptures, weighted brass front and rear and running spare battery opposite running battery. I have already broken the front r&p. So, I replaced that and added under drive rear r&p. I upgraded to the vrd trans so around 30% overdrive and a must have. Desert lizards 90/100 combo to add little extra skid angle(with rear upper shock mount more forward). Fusion se 1800 and shift rcs lp 2.0 servo with a castle bec running 8.4v all on 3s. Custom bent(at home on vise)links an really enjoying the rig. Thanks for sharing your video. This was a great improvement from stock.

I was suprised at how many people did not recognize what the Optic is- a great and versatile build base. You can take it in so many directions with minimal mods. Love what you did, and loved Brandon's CMS/4.1 tire/shortened wheelbase version he showed on this week's Vanquish livestream. It looked so Ultra 4.
I don't have one yet, finishing another build, but I will have one soner than later.

Just something I noticed, never seen you talk about it but the fact that you never show you interacting with your trucks leads to really high immersion for me. The stakes feel a lot higher because god’s hand doesn’t come in and interfere every 30 seconds like I’ve seen in other videos. Really well done with that 🤙🏻

Finally a video of actually crawling! Haven't been impressed by a review video yet! It's either hanging up on the belly or flipping over backwards. I like where your going with yours! More low front weight and overdrive should help. I still think it's gonna take something different to be that go to, have to do this part. Got An H10 and love it. Love the tall stock tires. And the new axels. Switched to a Hobbywing Pro and a Raw 500 servo. Replaced the upper links with the Vanquish titanium builders links. Vanquish blue 1.9 Riots, blue Skarn beadlock rings, silver Delta IFR inner rings, and sintered inner clamp rings. Have the parts ready to beef up the diffs when they do go out. Yeah well I spent just $600 OTD for my axial Capra 4ws. Ssd wheels/foams/g8 KRAWLERS/fusions se/pinion gear/brass front box’s/over drive portal gears/40kg Amazon servos/5channel spektrum receiver/dig servo. Hi cleared the stock lower links. You get the point same price tag or more. I guess you have dig and rear steer servo. But all my cars rtr touch that $600-$1k think we’re all used to it by now.
My scx10iii early bronco it’s touching that $800-900 price after mods. Don’t see why people claim this is too much. Name an rtr that has quality electronics that has at least the quality of an scx10iii or a vanquish. I mean no disrespect or hate in this message.

@CasperRc81 Yes, it does cost around $600-$1000. But it shouldn't. $60 in electronics were not going to be used, and on Amazon, you can order all the parts you need and build a super capable crawler for $500. I have been thinking about using an injora fake capra cage, aluminum capra axles,3gear with dig, fusion se1200, injora beadlocks,s5 xhx pin tires with green silicone inserts and will be around $485 and if I used meus nylon portals it would be $450. I know it isn't vanquish quality, but performance per dollar will be way higher, I guess I am just a cheapskate

Cool truck, but there's too much I'd have to replace, and for me, the Capras are set up better, OOTB (4WS/portals). I do appreciate the Vanquish design, especially if it's easier to work on than a Capra. It'll be interesting to see how much of the original truck is left, once your done with your mods. Not much left now, just chassis/links/axles. Do you know how much weight your saving with the Holmes combo, vs a Fusion Pro? Maybe one day I can buy a nice, smooth, sealed, light and torquey crawler motor ESC combo, from a US based company. Thanks for providing a great rock crawler perspective on this new platform. After a hard look, I decided I like my stock VRD Stance RTR enough, after a few runs, to upgrade to a VRD Carbon kit/Fusion Pro set up. Anyone in the Houston area need a lightly used VRD Stance, in silver?

Stock form I’m not super happy with the h10. It feels like it wants to be a little of everything at once. Not quick enough to be a ultra4 bouncer type and the gearing isn’t super set up for crawling. I wish it came on 2.2s or with high clearance links. I feel like it bellies out on a lot of stuff and ends up negating the wheelbase advantage. All of this can be solved by throwing money at it. Which I will at some point.
