It’s definitely the case with the Wrangler. I never bought that the Gladiator had enough customers to sustain it. People want a Dodge Dakota not a Gladiator. It’s too niche for truck buyers. It’s also sad to see the Renegade and Cherokee completely collapse.
It’s not just the msrp increases. The individual options and package pricing seem to have more than doubled. Stellantis is doing everything possible to destroy the brand. Jeep is not a luxury brand. Why are they charging luxury prices?
I work at a Jeep dealership, and yes, the prices are crazy. 3 years ago, I purchased a Rubicon Gladiator with a $59k msrp. Today, that same Gladiator is priced at $70k, and not even as equipped as mine
This guy had the same idea I was thinking! I want to see the high output hurricane engine in the wrangler and gladiator. THAT would be worth spending money on!
Jeep entered the gladiator forum with a focus group thread recently. I asked for resurrection of the 5.2 and 5.9 magnum v8s and more gear options from factory. Wait and see what they do next.
Considering the mechanical difference and material, such as the aluminum body and the off road capability, Gladiators are more expensive to make than the Ford, basically a Ford Escape with a bed.
@@DZ-cm5xw That's the whole point though, not everyone wants a very capable off-road vehicle. They want a simple truck that can carry people and things around
A month ago I went to my local Jeep dealer…. Their prices were ridiculous. And they started off with list price in negotiations … I just walked out the door.
20% off starts to get the price back to almost where it should be. I was shopping for the Gladiator but ended up with a new 4Runner TRD ORP for $20k less.
You are absolutely right! 15% still didn’t bring the gladiators prices back to where they were when it initially launched. And the gladiator has not build a cult following nearly enough to be demanding these high prices. And good choice on the TRD, I’ve always loved those!
I bought a new '23 4runner TRD ORP - traded it in (got close to what I paid) after only 1 month of having it - didn't know Gladiators were being deep discounted- now I hav e a new '23 Gladiator Rubicon the difference on the trails is night and day - i have lockers front and rear and disconnecting sway bar, bigger tires more clearance and I now have a bed i can use again for hauling dirty stuff... trash. used oil from oil changes etc.
Great video and analysis. I want to know as much as possible about the Gladiator. We tow a small 2,900 lb Casita travel trailer 4,000 to 6,000 miles per year. I will be replacing our current tow vehicle at the end of 2024. I am not brand loyal. I also value reliability and safety. I did grow up in the late 1970s learning to drive on a 1968 Jeep J-10 Gladiator full-size pickup truck that my dad used to haul chainsaws and diesel fuel for his logging business, so I do have a sentimental desire for a Gladiator. However, price will easily trump sentimentality. I don’t need a major off-road truck, but I want 4WD/AWD for winter driving and light off-roading when camping (forest service roads, etc.). I would lean toward the Sport S with the max tow package. However, pricing even a non-Rubicon Gladiator is pricey!!! For that MSRP, I could easily buy a 1/2 ton truck and may consider a base trim lightly optioned 1/2 ton. Even with a 15% discount, the Gladiator Sport S optioned the way I would want it is more expensive than other nicely appointed mid-size 4WD/AWD trucks that have more features than the Gladiator. I plan to look hard at the Gladiator, but it will required a sweet deal!!! Yes, Stellantis has grossly overpriced its product!
Well, I just bought a 2023 Gladiator Sport S diesel with the HD towing package and with the rebates, additional dealer discounts and a decent trade, I'm glad I did. It's like a 3/4 ton mid-sized pickup. Good video and I'd like to see additional
When I bought my gladiator, I went with the same model: sport S with eco diesel and i LOVED how much power it had! It felt the way a jeep should feel. Powerful!
We're a jeep family , all off us have one with my youngest working on getting one our driveway is all jeep . That said I've been wanting a JT for years !! Waited and waited and I finally got one , mainly because I got 20% off !!!! So I took advantage and got a JTR with every option except the Aux switches and it had a msrp of just under 70k and I left with it for 52,770. I put 1700 down from trading my JLU & I'm thrilled !!! Really wanted the eco manual but they didn't have one with in the hours of me that could be sold with the recall issues... great video , our thoughts line up ..
Thanks! I’m the same as you. I honestly loved my gladiator and I just don’t want to see them go away. I love my jeeps and I need the brand to re center itself.
Former Ford salesman here. The Maverick isn't in the same class and it appeals to a different set of buyers. A more apt comparison is with the Ranger which also saw its sales numbers nosedive. However, it had the excuse of an incoming model refresh that held some customers off from buying.
This guy's acts like the gladiator is in turmoil. As do almost everyone on RUclips. For the 4Q 2023 they were the 2nd best-selling midsize truck. They are way overpriced. Also the whole midsize truck market took a huge decline in 23. Ranger was the biggest hit. 40% decline I believe.
You’re right, the maverick is in a different sales class than the midsize pickup. But I included it because it still fell into truck sales…. And I was genuinely shocked that more mavericks are selling than gladiators. Just bc personally I can’t see myself in something like the maverick. That sort of seeped into the show as I was making it. (That part wasnt scripted or planned ahead)
@mudtiremedia I'm not shocked at all. The maverick sales price is almost half of the gladiators. Alot of buyers can't afford a gladiator or full size truck. So they go to a high mileage, 30k priced truck out the door bc that is all they can afford. Same goes for the chevy trax. Sold 10's of thousands in 2023. Maybe over 100k. They get horrible reviews but sell like crazy bc they are 25k out the door for a new vehicle. Hard to pass that up for the pricepoint.
The insane thing about that is that they sell for $10k over sticker. We had customers who would special order one, and then sell it back to us at a healthy profit for them. I never understood the demand, but it was undeniably there.
@MartelZero they get a vehicle with a truck bed getting almost 40 mpg for 35k out the door. Idc what it looks like, they will sell a ton of them. Same concept as the new chevy trax.
I was a Taco fan boy 4x over. I recently bought a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon and I’ll never go back. I was worried about the whole solid front axial thing, don’t know why probably just because I never tried it and heard people actually saying they were scared to drive theirs on the freeways when semi trucks approached on the opposite side of the road. I’m not sure about the Wranglers because other than a test drive at the dealership I have no experience with them. But the whole front axial worry is way overhyped in my opinion. It’s great on road, long trips, especially offroad and honestly I’ve already forgotten about any differences between my Glad and my former Taco IFS. I love my Gladiator and it makes me sad there’s all this noise floating around about their fate. But, no,what? Heck with all that, I’m going to just enjoy the ride with a big grin on my face! ✌️
I LOVE this! Cool thing about the gladiator is that the extra length of the wheelbase makes it so much more stabile on the road and even more smooth on the trail. I loved my gladiator
I have always pretty much had Jeeps (CJ 5, YJ, TJ) and now JT. Or I owned Tacoma's with one exception I had a Toyota FJ Cruiser which I loved. As a kid I loved the Jeep Scrambler and always said if Jeep ever makes another one I'd buy it. At the time I had a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road when I decided to buy the Gladiator Rubicon. No comparison between Gladiator and Tacoma fully loaded model to loaded model. The Jeep is better at just about everything. Nicer interior, better stereo, camera's, full convertible. It came stock with 33's with a leveling kit I have 35's with tons of clearance. MUCH better immediate acceleration. Tacoma 3.5 was so gutless off the line. They had a great engine in the 4.0L in FJ. The Jeep V6 pretty good torque and mileage.
I love my jeep wranglers and gladiators. We have had 8 or 9 new ones in the family over the last 20 years. Personal i cant afford to buy new ones anymore. My last new one was a 2015 4 door wrangler which cost just under 30k new. When it was time to replace covid was here so i had to hold off then the msrp prices started skyrocketing so i had to hold off even longer. Now that same optioned $30k 4 door is pushing close to $50k and its just not feasible to buy. 20 years of jeep ownership and we have offically been priced out of the brand. Crazy times.
I’m seeing the exact same thing. The last new Jeep I bought was in 2020 and I paid $49k out the door for a well optioned diesel gladiator. Now the same options in a gladiator put it at $55. They need to stop increasing prices faster than inflation.
I bought my 2020 Gator Rubicon Gladiator in November 2019 ($49k price, but sales taxes pushed it to $53k out the door).Had the dealer replace the aluminum steering box with steel, but I’ve spent $$$ upgrading to RCV front axle shafts, 38” Ridge Grapplers, re-geared to 5:13s, Clayton 3.5” Overland lift kit, Rough Country reservoir shocks, 17” Black Rhino Abrams rims, Rockslider Auto steps, tonneau cover, Genesis Dual Battery kit, Steer Smarts bracket, and the 4 aux switches plus heated wiper blades. Love my truck, but it’s a constant work in progress. Still need a steel bumper, winch, brake kit upgrade, and drive shaft upgrades. A few more lights too!🥴
In the most respectful tone I can muster, i am compelled to to ask, have you used these expensive modifications off road? I would love to do that but 99% of my use case is typical commuting, urban driving. There’s such a huge price to pay for all that added weight. Looks bad ass for sure, but I’m really struggling to justify the expense when it’s on paved roads mist of the time.
Not sure if you mean OP or myself, but I know personally I am off-road nearly every month and I primarily do heavy rock crawling. When I had my gladiator, I wheeled from Florida to south Texas. It would definitely be a niche market, but at the same time, I see the raptor and TRX selling like wild and they are an extremely niche market with horrible mpg ratings. And absolutely no disrespect taken. I really appreciate any inputs and conversation. It’s what makes our mindset grow.
ive had to replace the radiator in my TJ, and my trans has been begging to die for months. And now im misfiring on a few cylinders and it looks like my 4.0 is on its last leg. But I have been excessively rough on it!
Thank you! I just cant believe how much the prices have increased in just the past 3 years. It has been wild and they are pushing away their primary market.
I consider myself a Jeep guy but not a current owner. I’ve had two in the past , a CJ and a 2003 TJ. As you said the prices of 4 door Jeeps and Gladiators rival the prices of full size trucks , which is one reason I just bought a Superduty. I actually like the Gladiator but realistically may never buy one unless my wife decided she would want one. It would have to be a Mojave or something like that which I know puts the gas mileage somewhere below my F350.V8. Great video and info; new subscriber.
Thank you and I’m appreciative to have you here! I love my TJ and I LOVE the CJ. And these old jeeps just have a rugged style that has never been reproduced since 2006. I had a gladiator and I loved it, but it is definitely a different animal from my old jeeps.
The price point is the issue across the board for Jeep. Similar to the ford dealerships gouging customers previously. I love my gladiator. the multiple price hikes didn’t do them any favors.
Exactly! they shot their self in the foot with all the price increases. they were a hot commodity when the gladiator was new and competitively priced, but now they priced their own vehicle out of relevance.
I fell for the Gladiator big time!! Bought myself a Ecodiesel Rubicon for a retirement present to myself in 21. Still waiting for my dealer to contact me on the high pressure fuel pump recall (holding my breath). Worst thing was that my Gladiator got smacked on the passenger side in January 23. Because of record snow fall in my area didn’t get my truck in until August 23. Just my luck UAW strike. My truck is still in the body shop today!! Supposedly getting it back at the end of the month. My Jeep experience has not been that great!!
I went to the dealership and the sales guy admitted to me. Those ego diesels are garbage. He said they had bad problems with the fuel pump and fuel rails. I just went with the straight six.
Bought Toyota for 25 years. Love the reliability. Switched to Jeep last year and got a Gladiator Mojave. Love it. It’s the most fun ever to drive. 2 cents.
Hey thats awesome! I'm glad to know your enjoying your Gladiator. I loved mine for the time i had it.... I've even been lurking around the dealerships for the past few months, trying to talk myself out of buying another gladiator. Thanks for sharing!
Jeep = extremely high prices and terrible reliability. I really like the older Jeeps, back when they were actually American made. Toyota makes a ton of better options, with great resale value and unbelievable reliability.
That would be so good! And it would be perfect for rock crawling. But I also understand why they didn’t make it, since 2 door jeeps are difficult for them to sell as is.
As someone that wanted a new Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator in 2021 and went with a Toyota Tacoma, it was the pricing and reliability. I remember looking at Gladiator's and hearing about recalls and then parts not being available to fulfill the recall, quickly had me walking away.Found my 2021 Toyota Tacoma at MSPR and couldn't be happier I went this route.
A dealer not far from me is discounting their Sports are discounting them between $14000 TO $17000. to me, should be the MSRP, and then apply the discount. Now they've increased the prices for 2024. Makes no sense.
I’m a jeep fan but their over pricing is why I bought a TRD off road premium 4Runner. I am very happy that these companies that were taking advantage of their customers are now getting a beating from buyers.
Great vid!! I’ve been waiting since 2017 for a glad (when mock ups first surfaced)!! In your opinion, is NOW the best time to buy new, even with higher APRs?
Great question! If you have been considering the gladiator and are in the market, right now is still the time to buy. There’s no sign of Jeep bringing the MSRP down to the point it was when it was introduced, and with the 15% off, this is the closest you’ll get to having a new gladiator at a more competitive price. AND if your considering a used gladiator, buying a used gladiator for a Jeep dealer can sweeten that deal, because they know they are already having to discount brand new jeeps heavily, so they tend to mark down the used gladiators lower than their new units. I hope this helps. But honestly, the best time to buy was before the new year, when they could have pushed a gladiator out the door and still marked it off their inventory for 2023. But that time has come and gone sadly.
Handful of things here. 1) Jeep priced the gladiator too high and refuses to put a V8 in 4000+ lb vehicle. Seems pretty self explanatory when the Chevy and Ford midsizes are no longer suffering on power. 2) not sure why the hate for the maverick, it’s literally the exact same dimensions as the old ranger. It’s literally just an updated 4 door ranger and the new ranger is the same size as the 10th gen f150
I’ll admit my disdain for the maverick may be a bit ill placed. I’m not a fan of the look and style the maverick has and the fact that it is a unibody vehicle instead of a traditional truck construction. But that really boils down to the fact that the maverick was meant to be a functional economy car, like the Santa Cruz (which weirdly enough, I like how the Santa Cruz looks…)
The Mavrick isn’t a truck it’s a unibody car a truck has a full frame RWD platform. The Maverick is a Honda ridge line which suffers from the same problem. I have a 1995 ford ranger that would out do a new maverick in every aspect lol
The actual production stopping from the uaw strike was a gift to Jeep (stellantis) so they could start reducing inventory. The end result of the strike is bad for them.
You know, I hadn’t even considered that. I think you’re absolutely right! I know so many people are reporting in, still seeing 2022 models sitting at dealers, unsold.
Funny you mention that. Jeep EV sales are WAY UP! But then you find out that its not because people are ordering them, its because in California, where a mass of the US population resides, the dealerships are not allowed to order and keep on the lot, any Jeep that is not an EV. So this pads the number of EV sales statistics, but really its just people who dont want to wait for a custom ordered Jeep to come in.
Jeep gladiator needs to be more customizable without having to go up on trim package. In texas, tinted windows, max tow and rear lockers needs to come standard without having to buy a Mojave or Rubicon. Most people just need a pickup not a rock crawling wonder machine. 🤷♂️
Although the gladiator seems to be an awesome and fun vehicle, you can’t really expect someone to pay so much for a car that only gives you 16mpg on average driving and so little benefits to justify the asking price. If I’m expected to pay so much for a car, it better gives me some value on something (decent mpg or ride quality , tech , comfort , load capacity, reliability , etc) not just off roading .
I agree. It was a great off road capable truck, initially at its lower price point. But they are pricing their own vehicle out of reason and ruining it by doing so. Now if they added the floating rear axle and the high output hurricane inline 6, it would be hard to keep me away from the dealership
I totally disagree with this guy. The tacoma is 50% of the market share for midsize trucks. They have always been and always will be the king of the midsize market. The gladiator was the second best selling midsize truck in 2022 and the 4th best in 2023. They were second best selling midsize truck in 4Q 2023. They are way overpriced, but are a lifestyle truck. Idk why everyone says that the gladiator days are numbered. If that is the case wouldn't everyone besides the tacoma and maybe Colorado be numbered as well?! As a whole the midsize truck market had a drastic decline in 2023. When the 4xe comes out I see the gladiator sales going back to 2nd place in the market. Til then they will finish 3rd or 4th out of 7 midsize trucks.
I agree that the Gladiator sales will likely shoot up when the 4xe model is released. I know alot of buyers have been watching and waiting for that. And personally I really hope that the Ram 1500 performs really well with the hurricane inline 6 that in the next year refresh and they decide to offer the hurricane in the gladiator and wrangler. I believe that it would make all the difference in sales, having that engine in a Jeep.
Excellent channel.Subbed. Whatever happened to stellantis putting the 392 into the gladiator ??. There was alot of talk from them back in 2022 - 23 about it .
Do you know if they have the same sale problem over here in the EU? I always wanted to buy a new wrangler jl in 2024, planned that for the 4 years. Now I bought a used low mileage one, a 2021 model, for the same price I would've paid for a new one in 2020. It's crazy.
I bought my Rubicon Gladiator in June of last year. So far I'm pleased with what I can do with it. Yes, the mpg and power plant is subpar. But for the light trails that I take on and the small amount of use I get out of the bed, it's a perfect match for me. Like someone else said, a small V8 would have done the JT wonders. They could actually tune the V6 for more power as well.
I hope they do cancel Gladiator. I have a 2023 3.6 Gladiator fully tricked out. If they get scarce the value will climb. They are so ugly stock, but look awesome lifted and customized.
Drove through the Jeep lot a couple weeks ago, almost talked myself into a Gladiator. Good price and the warranty was great. I'm not willing to go with a v6 though after hearing reviews on mpg and pulling. We have an overland trailer that I would be pulling with it. My wife's 4runner is a better option as the Jeep cost more and wouldn't pull any better from what I've seen.
The eco diesel has amazing power, when it worked right. I really hope the aftermarket fixes the issues with it so it becomes a coveted engine in the future
I would be interested in one after issues are addressed. Better mpgs and torque would be awesome! The 4runner lacks torque and mpgs pulling for sure but the reliability is why we have it.
I drive a 6 speed manual 2021 Jeep Sahara and I'm happy with the vehicle. I love the look and presence ❤of the Grand Wagoneer. While at the dealership, a trusted salesperson gently nudged me and explained that he wouldn't consider the Wagoneer for a purchase. I asked if they cut corners on the build quality or engine. He just gave me a sheepsih smile and shrugged- said the Wranglers were the way to go. The Wagoneer is overpriced anyway, lol. I'll closely be reading th3 consumer reports on that Wagoneer
My wife and I were saving with the expectation of buying the wagoneer the day it came to market…. Then we got hit with sticker shock when they revealed the price. And I still haven’t driven the JL in a manual. I want to try that out!
@mudtiremedia there's a recall on the clutch of that year Jeep, but the vehicle is phenomenal. I've been happy with it, and I've had 2 4Runners before obtaining the Jeep. I thought the transition would've been difficult, but not really. I'm impressed with the Jeep build and driving character. Solid ride. I may want to hold on to this one and pass it on to my son 🤞🏼
Jeep sabotaged the Gladiator by never offering a v8 option, especially since everything on a 392 Wrangler is pretty much a bolt on. The price hikes have been crazy on them. You can option out a Gladiator to almost $80k, which is laughable for a mid size truck Stop sales on the diesels, manual trans, etc, plus 3.6 cam issues, diesel fuel pump issues, paint corrison, leaking axle seals, and long wait time for fixes has turned off a lot of people that have one, or wanted to buy one. Stellantis is in trouble, because they don't really have anything worth buying besides Wrangler or Gladiator anymore. I have numerous Jeeps, including a Gladiator, but Jeep needs to step up their game to keep up with the competition
You and I are the perfect example:Jeep has had such a poor time managing product pricing and quality control for years, that they are alienating their brand loyal audience. Its sad.
Agree with your point about Gladiator price point. Here in Canada, Gladiators for mid-70,000 CAD. I ended up buying a slightly used 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro4x, that does everything well (towing, payload, off-roading) for 30,000 CAD less. Sure I am not able to take the roof and doors off my Frontier, but here with the Canadian winters, I would not be able to take the Gladiators roof and doors off for six months of the year anyways. Not worth the extra $30k for the Gladiator in that context. I love my Frontier! Great video, thanks for posting.
That Frontier will be rolling another 5 years after the Jeep is in the junkyard. They want to be a premium brand, but you gotta build high quality vehicles for at least 10 years before trying.
The Gladiator isn't a truck. It's a 4 door Wrangler with a dinky bed stuck on the back. Make a two door and they would sell. Assuming the price was right.
I agree! Jeep has priced the Gladiator out of the market! It’s the most expensive mid sized pickup, that doesn’t really outshine the others to warrant the price. A new ‘23 Tacoma TRD is just over $40k. A ZR2 Colorado is just over $50k. And yet, a new Gladiator Rubi or Mojave is over $60k! I do like certain things about the Gladiator (its off-road ability and rear seating is more spacious than any other midsize truck), but the price needs to come down! It’s more like a $30k starting MSRP kind of vehicle!… and should not exceed $50k, otherwise what’s the point? It’s a midsized truck, that’s priced like a full-size!
Your absolutely right! if their starting price came back down to around the 32k mark and and kept their rubi/mojave prices capped around 50k, they would sell easily.
@@mudtiremedia absolutely! And then I’d probably buy one!! Even though i am seeing some Mojave’s around here for under $50k… (after dealer discounts and incentives)!
When I saw the launch of the revamp of Wrangler/Gladiator they said we listen to our customers.... All the customers were asking for a V8, especially in the gladiator and what did we get power seats. WTF The Jeep community was saying well if we have to pay 50 to 70k for Jeep then we should have some more luxury in reality was we just didn't like paying all that money for a Jeep. I am super disappointed I love my Gladiator and with the HUGE discounts I really want to buy a new one but they don't Punk'n orange.
YES! I almost fell over when they had the “big reveal” for the updated 2024 gladiator. They made it sound like a massive change was coming and it was going to be huge, and then they gave it an uglier grille, a more expensive windshield that will break, and power seats. I died a little that day.
i agree that its hard to justify spending that much on a wrangler or gladiator. But i will say that Ive worked in EMS for 13 years and the only Wrangler occupants ive ever seen killed or injured in a car accident are the ones who didnt wear a seatbelt.
The price hikes, they don’t fight for trail access anymore, and them forgetting where they came from. I’ve bought Jeeps for over 20 years, been strictly loyal, but the loyalty has definitely waned lately. I’m sure I’m not the only one. I’m ok with buying old Jeeps… my latest purchase was a 2004 Wrangler over a buying another new Jeep. Jeep doesn’t seem like Jeep right now.
Your right. I wish we could see jeeps name and attorneys working hand in hand to keep more trail systems open. That would speak volumes for the company. And that’s a good year! I also gave up on my new jeeps and went back to a TJ
One issue now is Stellantis Will not carry dealer stock for stock the entry level wrangler or gladiator. It’s now their policy if you want an entry level model, you have to special order it. My local Jeep dealer has a lot of gladiators on the ground at their store. But they all have prices starting in the mid to high $40,000s. 60 and 70k jeeps are ready and waiting. Oh, by the way, if you want ANY color but white, expect to whip out an extra $500 right out of the gate. Seems they don’t think having any color choice is a good plan for choosing anything other than copy paper white.
Stellantis CEO has indicated they want to turn Jeep Wrangler - Gladiators into luxury off road vehicles to compete with Range Rover and Land Rover. Price wise Stellantis seems to have accomplished their goals. Statically most Jeeps are never taken off road. Folks that buy Rubicons, and never take them off road are wasting a lot of money on technology that they will never use. Wranglers ride rough because of the off road technology. They just don’t ride, nor are they as comfortable or luxurious, as Range Rover and Land Rovers. Wranglers are in an off road class of their own. They really had no significant competition until Ford reinvented the Bronco. There is an old saying, “If it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it.”
I agree. And I was really afraid when the initially revealed the JL that they were going to be moving to an IFS front suspension and ruin the wrangler as an off road leader. I’m still worried that may happen in the coming years.
I'm a Ford guy, with a paid for '18 F150, and an almost paid for '21 soft top Bronco. I don't off-road, but still like the Gladiator Mojave styling, and would use it to tow my square-drop camper. Local dealer has about 6 2023 Mojaves on the lot, with one or two MSRP at $70+k, currently "discounted" to around $55-$56k. Still too much imo. If they'd take $35k cash out the door I'd buy one. 😊
I got my '23 Gladiator Willys for $16k off sticker, between the 15% off from Chrysler and another $10k off by the dealer. Like the others have said, it's the price. Price it right and it'll sell. Same reason I don't have a new diesel pickup.
I have wanted a gladiator since they came out. Was so excited waiting the reveal for the 24 models. Gladiator needs more torque. Reveal comes and nothing in regard to motor options. I caved in and bought a 23 model at a great price. 12000 off retail. I love my new gladiator. It is ridiculous off road. It has descent power if your willing to give it all that gas. More torque at lower rpms would be amazing. Couldnt hold out anymore for a diesel model. Was hoping they would have worked out the issues with it and put out a 24 diesel model. Overall love the vehicle, but i think thats where they loose alot of buyers.
My 2021 diesel gladiator had amazing power, even with 40” tires and armor. But it constantly threw codes and would de rate power on large inclines. I would regularly have to carry my programmer and clear the codes to get it to keep driving. I’m glad you’re liking your purchase! I honestly miss my gladiator so much. It was the most comfortable and stable vehicle I’ve ever had off-road.
@@mudtiremedia you should do a show on how the epa dictates auto design 4 doors on a truck puts it into the suv catagory for emissions and can bypass engine redesign
A jeep wrangle unlimited was $30,000 just a few years ago now they are $55,000 that’s the problem and they will need to lower the prices back down to 30k and just make more, OEM’s have to sell on volume. Also jeep used to have a good engine the 4.0L you couldn’t break that engine but these new engines are breaking so often new Jeeps spend more time at the mechanic than the owners drive way. Jeep needs to get their crap together
I think if they get the new hurricane inline 6 into the wrangler and gladiator, that will be the game changer for the brand and explode sales. Their prices dont reflect what your buying from them currently.
I think the Ecodiesel would have sold a lot better had Stallantis not priced the option so high. I understand that they had to get some return on their investment, but they made you pay for the engine upgrade, and then charged you for the HD automatic transmission you were forced to get by “upgrading” to the ecodiesel.
GM made a smart move by making their diesel engine an option at no extra cost. In the US we aren’t used to running or even having the option to run a diesel in smaller trucks or SUV’s. To get people onboard, they have to be reasonably priced.
I’m curious whether a significant number of people who want to Overland like me are waiting for the Gladiator 4xe to power equipment, which the former Jeep leader admitted would come out in the 2025 Gladiator. (I’m waiting) It’s called the Osborne Effect where people wait on a purchase.
This is definitely a possibility. I’ve been waiting to see what actual specs will come out about the 4xE gladiator and whether they will find a way to extend the electric range and what the power output will be for plug-in tool usage.
Me too. Stelantis has been way behind on batteries. What they have in the Wrangler for 20 miles is so far from the completion,, but with them doing PHEV at all means hopefully with an electrician’s help, I could put some old Tesla batteries where the spare tire goes, and then have more than I need to be off grid for a week or so, even running induction cooking a computer monitor. I’m definitely waiting every day to hear the ‘25s announcement!

It’s an easy answer: in 2021 I was in the market for a new truck. I wanted the Gladiator Rubicon but at $65k I went with a Sierra AT4 for the same price and got a diesel that gets 27MPG instead of the Jeeps 19ish. Plus I got all that extra space and comfort. When you push a midsize into the same price category as a specialty full-size you’re going to have your work cut out for you. The Pentastar is a good engine, we have one in our 2015 Wrangler Rubicon but it’s a dog compared to the LM2 Duramax.
You made an absolutely perfect decision! that baby duramax is such an amazing engine! I have been personally considering one for myself lately. With the new redesign on that engine, it is basically perfection in every way.
I was thinking of trading in my 2022 gladiator for a new 2024 but with the 15% off msrp for the 23's and the price increase it was so expensive I had to pass. That 15% off was a kick for every current owner since that just decreased the value of my car overnight. This was my first jeep and most likely my last.
The Big3 pulled out of auto shows and Super Bowl commercials, so it’s not just Jeep. Also, Stellantis got greedy and jumped the base prices of Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, and Gladiator by $7-13k from 2020-2023 depending on model and trim level. That’s unsustainable for the consumer interested in a relatively niche product and capability.
That is what I really dislike about stelantis’ 15% discount. It only accounts for “about” the same amount that they tried to raise the prices initially anyway.
I for one am really really interested in purchasing a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon! The only thing really holding me back is the price! I love the off road worthiness of the Gladiator! I just need to find a good deal on one!😊
Right now, with Jeep incentives and dealership discounts, you are likely able to negotiate a decent price. I believe a well optioned gladiator in the high 40’s is the correct price range it should be selling at
I truly wish that Jeep Corporation were an independent automobile producer. Or, if nothing else, that both Jeep and Chrysler were once again together, but independent of any other automobile corporation. Jeep is, or was, the most iconic and quintessential of American automotive brands. Andrew McKane IV, 22 January 2024.
I know what you mean. Back when it was AMC, and even Diamler Chrysler, it really felt like the Jeep was basically a SXS before the SXS existed. It was meant to be the back country toy.
I’ve never understood the allure of a Jeep. My dad bought a new CJ7 in 1976 but only kept it for about 2 years because the drive was just terrible. It was great bouncing around the trails but horrible and almost scary on the highway. 40+ years later I rented a new Wrangler while on holidays. It was horrible on road too. It was noisy, rough riding and very uncomfortable. I found it exhausting to drive.
You’re not wrong. Whenever I have had someone ask me about buying a Jeep, I always warn them that it takes a certain mind set to be able to enjoy a Jeep. There are a lot of current day comforts that you have to sacrifice
The wrangler is a tool for a specific job, the road trip isn’t it. Bought my 2006 Wrangler unlimited LJ new and it’s been great as a back country explorer. No desire to use it as a daily driver or for a long road trip.
20% or 15% if you actually go in to talk numbers, that number is cut in half against certain percentage like APR. I've got lease talks anywhere between 5.5% which was the lowest, all the way to about 9% of interest. So, 15% ends up being really 5% because you'll give that 15% back compare to few years ago where lease % was at about 4% but yes, we all forgot about that. :) So Jeep got plenty of room and $$$ to play with here. I'm sure will all numbers in they aren't dropping 100% of 15%
Family has a 2015, 2020 and 2022 Wrangler. Was planning on getting a Gladiator until the 2022 left me on the side of the road. Took them 4+ months to fix it with the UAW strike. So, quality and customer service will likely push me to a Tacoma.
Wow! 4 months?! Yeah that would leave me jaded with the brand too! Ive been hearing alot of people moving to Toyota. And once the new Land Cruiser comes out, i think that is going to make a real challenge for the Wrangler.
Greed is epidemic among domestic American manufactures. Ford raised the price of the F150, the Dodge Ram went along as well and they are ALL having sales slumps
Why on earth would I spend 62,000 dollars on a jeep Gladiator (with bad reliability)when for 58,000 I can get a brand new Toyota To Tacoma pro fully loaded ?
I will get a Tacoma before a Gladiator but I will buy a Wrangler before 4Runner. The reason is that if I need a truck, I am looking for reliability, utility and practicality. When I want a toy, the Wrangler can’t be beat. So we have two toys in the family and a Honda work horse to haul stuff as well as our dog.
Several dealer lots around here with 30 & 40+ gladiators that have been on those lots for ages. I was waiting for the updated 2024’s to get here, but then opted to go with a wrangler jlu, which are selling like hot cakes.
I have a 2023 Tacoma. I looked at a Gladiator before purchasing, they were asking as much as 20k more over a Tacoma. Hell no... That's insane. I like Jeeps, but not that much.
I bought my 2023 Glad Willys 11/14/2023. MSRP was $56,675. I paid $39,673. $17,002 (30%) off. There were still 2 or 3 at that price ay the time. Looked online a couple weeks ago, and prices are going back up. Lithia Tri-Cities in WA state. There are multiple Stealerships holding the line at barely under MSRP. And I guarantee those units will sit. I sure as hell wouldn't have bought at anything LESS than 20% off. No way a Gladiator is worth $50-55k to me. But at $39K? Sure. Stellantis better slow the hell down with MSRP increases. It is NOT a premium car brand - it is either an A to B mode or a toy. When I saw the prices on SxSide Rec vehicles recently, I thought what the hell? Jeep still means something to some of us, but they are quickly outpacing what their core market can afford to buy. $110-115K for a Grand Wagoneer? NO - FREAKING - WAY. By the way - ALSO an MAV hater. I bought one. This will be TLDR for most but whatever. I've watched and waited and hunted this damn trucklet since end of 2021. Between ADMs of $5-10K, trucks listed as "for sale" that weren't even on lot / were customer orders / or trying to actually ORDER one from Ford website and wait 6-12 months / and the list of BS goes on and on........Number 1 issue is the ADM. I looked at this vehicle from the perspective of "cool looking and good MPG with a reasonable amount of options if I wanna go that route" and end up with a cool trucklet that I would enjoy. Well - two full years later - I was still getting the runaround. I just bought a 2023 Mav with Tremor and XLT Lux package USED with 1,579 miles on it. A LOT of searching. Still paid $1,000 over what MSRP was, but it WAS sitting in MY DRIVEWAY. Did NOT pay $5-10k over MSRP for new that may or may not be delivered. These are indeed stupid crazy times. I - like youself - am not exactly happy with this fiasco, but I will say this - it's definitely worth pursuing. It was worth all my hours of scouring the net. And the unfortunate fact is - dealers KNOW what a hot commodity it is. And are gouging every step ofthe way. I really think it's worth over what MSRP is, and I paid accordingly. But NOT $5-10 k over MSRP. THAT said, AND UPDATE - I traded it in because I thought hmmmmm, not really a truck.
That’s a really reasonable price for a Jeep! If they could correct the price range a bit, then I’m sure they would sell much better. Thanks for sharing too!
Jeeps problem is they dont listen to potential customers. People been screaming for the 5.7 in the gladiators. The ecodiesel is only reliable if you delete the bs govt emisions but then you have no warranty. So you have to take a $6k upcharge for the diesel, another $3k to delete and tune and end up with no warranty to fix their problem. Jeep needs to fire their ceo and find the direction of their customer base. Doesnt matter what they want or what the corrupt ass govt wants, its the customer. Things like this is exactly why i am driving 20+ year old vehicles. I have several of them and until the manufacturers get their head out of their ass ill keep wrenching on what i have.
Your right! These current day diesels of all sizes are basically built to break with the DEF systems that they are putting on them. if only we could go back to when diesels werent restricted and got over 30mpg all the time. and the Gladiator definitely could have used something like the 5.7 hemi for sure! if anything, for the torque to make towing more enjoyable.
Also doesn't help with intrest rates. When I bought my Gladiator it was overpriced but got a 4% intrest rate back in 2022. Now you can't get one without getting a 10 to 14% intrest rates. Then they charged luxury style price tag. Gladiators are riddled with problems. Aux battery problems engine problems and transmission problems. At 46,000 miles mine is currently in the shop getting a new transmission in it. I have 4 other friends getting their transmissions replaced as well.
Our family has three gladiators. We love them. But i will say that jeep screwed up in the pricing of these. Cutting the prices on the 23s was needed. High interest rates and over production prior to the strike left them with full lots. This screwed everyone that already had a gladiator and our values have tanked. Hopefully the 24s drop with a more reasonable pricing level, and with the 23 models get cleared out, values will go back up.
I had one as well and overall I loved it. I did have issues with my eco diesel, but I still miss it. I was able to get mine before the price increase. I still love the gladiator regardless and don’t want to see it go away.
The price is absolutely a problem. I bought my 5 seater in 2008 for 25K flat with a lifetime drive train warranty, which turned out to be a good thing since the engine was garbage and had to be replaced. I would never buy another especially at present day pricing.
The ECO Diesel met everyone's standers excpet for the people in powers push to EVs. I have one and it's a DREAM engine! If you grabbed one before they are gone, your lucky and it will keep better value over the gas. I'm a Toyota guy and went for Jeep for the ECO D and nothing comes close and will never own another truck engine. This is a keeper.
Jeep has absolutely lost their minds. I've owned countless jeeps. I was in the market for a new JL rubicon. Wanted the rubicon X. Its 73,000 msrp, then all the fees and taxes, $80,000. For a wrangler!! Then a slight build of lift, wheels, tires, and you are into it 90k. Instead of doing that, I just bought a brand new Tundra for 60k and a very nice kawasaki krx side by side for 30k. I think most people are doing this kind of analysis and not pulling the trigger on buying a jeep, which is sad. I hope they turn it around.
It’s funny you mention this, because I actually was considering making a video pointing out how the SXS market is becoming a true competitor for the Jeep! You can buy a truck and a SXS and be invested into the set for as much as a Jeep would cost and not have to worry about breaking on the trail or modifying as soon as you bring it home.
Flying out to North Dakota to pickup my new high altitude sting ray gray… the only one in the country will be thinking about the 21% I got off all the way back to NYC….
@@mudtiremedia 1353 miles into trip 15.7 mpg @ 80ish with these tires it rides really nice though I’ve already purchased a set of rubicon jt fox shocks takeoffs. Downside to these tires are that your snow performance is nothing like KO2’s…
Trying to understand the Max Tow options available in the 2024 Gladiators. I think Max tow 7000lb was only available on Sport and Sport S. Seeing some post that in 2024 it's only on the Rubicon Gladiators and can't see anything on the new 2024 build site for the Gladiators for Sport model. Just watched your you tube that they dropped the 2024 build for Gladiators.
The diesel Gladiator is done and the electric hybrid got “delayed” till 2025. My bet is that the Gladiator is on its way out, which is really unfortunate. 😢
I think the true comparison would be how many of those Toyota Tacoma’s were 4WD TRD’s for a true apples to apples. Businesses who use mid-size truck don’t need and thus aren’t going to pay for an off road capable vehicles. P.S. The real problem is Stellantis thinks they can convert Jeep/Wagoner into the Range/Land Rover luxury brand. Which might work in Europe and around the world but not here in the US. I have two new Jeeps, a 2022 Willys Sport Wrangler and 2023 Willys Gladiator because like many icons the JLU/JT will be the last vehicles that will be modifiable due to all the coming safety requirements.
Also not all Jeeps are equal, there always were iconic versions in every era. We have a 1969 V6 CJ5, in the Army I experienced the 1977 V8 CJ7, the 2002 TJ Unlimited was a unicorn and the 2012 Black Ops JK is also classic. I think as time goes by the 2022/23 JLU’s & JT’s which had no changes over two years will be the last “true” Jeeps. That’s why I picked up a matching pair in Willys trim. For 2024 they put an antenna in the windshield, adaptive warnings, extra air bags and added that odd bigger screen to resemble a Bronco. At some point they will get too complex. If you want/need to build/have an Off Roader it makes more sense to start with a low mileage 2012 to 2018 JK; as all the after market parts exist and they are simpler to work on for the typical father & son on their weekends.
You are forgetting the competition with Ford Bronco vs their Wrangler. As Wrangler owner - they additionally introduced a number of ridiculous upgrades that really didn't address a number of known issues. Wrangler brand new is an overpriced money sink
Jeep needs to reduce the price for the Gladiator by 20-25%. Losing the auto shows is a major error by Stellantis NA. Also, Stellantis NA should incorporate the Hurricane Engine in the Gladiator and Wrangler.
I got my 23 JTR last November. I freaking love it, but I'm also a Jeep person for sure. Out the door was about $55k. If I remove emotion from the equation, I could have bought a f250 (traded in my 2019 f250 to get my gladiator) for a similar price with similar creature comforts while also having a truck that can do "real" truck things. Financially the gladiator is a terrible decision, especially looking back on the jacked up prices people paid years prior. So I will say it's pricing that makes the gladiator a hard sale. Then add in everything that makes it a Jeep like the "rough" ride, the wind noise on the highway, low payload, and poor towing stability compared to a full size truck. It's a bad jeep and a bad truck, but the perfect compromise between the 2.
I wanted to lease a gladiator after the lease was up on my renegade. I wanted to lease it becase FCA + Electronics = surprises. Even with the price cuts, leasing a basic sport s is well over 580 a month. Nissan's frontier pro 4x loaded with pretty much every feature was 2k cheaper. Ended up leasing one for far less than 580 a month. Time will tell how the new frontiers hold up. The old ones are still right as rain. So sad to see jeep in a bad state like this.....they priced themselves out of the market. They focus too much on features instead of offering affordable, reliable, adequate transportation. I wanted a jeep to do jeep things with. Atleast my Nissan's infotainment knows what song I'm playing through bluetooth....outstanding.😂😂😂
I’ve heard nothing but amazing reviews on the frontier. I want to try one out for myself. Also, If you haven’t discovered Z1 performance yet, go check them out. That’s been my favorite aftermarket company for decades. They specialize in Nissans
@@mudtiremedia Hey, thanks for the advice! I've never owned a Nissan. Let alone drove or ridden in one prior to checking out my Frontier. I highly recommend testing one out! It might seem kinda boring and basic compared to all the other rigs in the segment. You might be pleasantly surprised? I was very surprised by how smooth the thing is. The heater is amazing too. Coming from a guy that lives in North Western MN. It's basically Mars out here. Just as cold too.🤣
@@mudtiremedia there is a guy on my street with a Nissan Frontier from 2018 that has over 130k kilometers on it and has had no issues!! he uses it as his main work truck and for some light off-road stuff
@@shashankshekhar2611 That's great to hear! My Jeep needed a new sparkplug at 2k miles. Other than that, it was trouble free for the remaining 20k miles when I traded it back. Minus the constant infotainment glitches. It was a Renegade Trailhawk. The glitchy infotainment gave me cold feet. Litterly and figuratively. Buying it was an option I didn't want to do willfully.
@@texttwenty-nine1627 I am sorry to hear that. here in Western Canada, Jeep , as a brand struggles with electrical and wiring issues , hope they sort it out soon, That being said I see many rubicons and wagoneers on the road, so obviously people must like them
My wife and I went to buy a gladiator in october of 23 that was advertised and they had us drive one that had such loud mud tires I literally had to get off the hwy to hear what my wife was saying, I asked about the one that was on sale and I was literally TOLD, Oh so you don't like upgraded tires and you want non powered windows for your wife to have to deal with... I don't play games and I am simple, I will spend this much including taxes 46k, I want 4wd, locker, 6' bed a/t tires, a/c and that's it. Ended up with the 23 Tacoma TRD off road with steps, safety package, blah blah blah blah. I wanted a Jeep for simpler off road but hey they blew it. 3 nissans tried playing games also
Ford Mavericks are very well received by the general public, and adored by the automotive magazines, who rave about them. One can get a well optioned Maverick for about 1/3 the price of a Gladiator.
Gladiator "low sales numbers" are still in line with Ranger and Frontier. Additionally, you cannot compare Wagoneers and GCLs -- different beasts for different buyers.
Over last 5 years inflation was 21%. In thst same time, jeep stellantis raised their prices 50%. Far more than any other mfr. That's a good chunk of their problem. People have paid the crazy prices, but that will be ending in future years.
I believe you’re right. People are not willing to pay for over priced vehicles, especially with an economic downturn and horrible interest rates. And Jeep is seeing this first hand.
Pricing has driven many away from a number of vehicles. Look at the prices of trucks in general and look at how many are just sitting on lots. I wanted to get back into a 3/4 ton truck. I priced a Ford XLT with the 7.3 gasoline engine. The dealership was going to do me a favor by selling it at sticker - $63k. Instead, I bought a low mileage 2007 Dodge 2500 with a 5.9 Cummins. I was part of a Jeep survey group at Easter Jeep Safari a couple of years ago. I suggested they offer a more base price Jeep with locking differntials and other off road goodies as options. For the price of a Rubicon, i think I would rather buy something more basic and add some crate axles, suspension, wheels and tires. It would be more capable, and I wouldn't be stuck selling parts that I was going to change out anyway on the Rubicon. As for the Gladiator, it needs more power and a lower price. I hope Jeep gets back to giving their core customers what they want, and quit trying to make themselves a high priced, low volume brand.
Since you were part of that study, I need to say THANK YOU! Because of those answers, Jeep went back and started offering the Willy’s Jeep with locking differentials instead of just an LSD as well as better tires and rock rails. We need more functionality like this for the lower cost wranglers.
I was thinking exactly what you stated. All I need/want is front rear lockers and sway bar disconnect. I don't care for the fancy electronics and gadgets that make the car expensive and failure waiting to happen out on a trail.
Between 2018 JK and 2024 JL, the price of my jeep build went up 48.6%. The price is the problem, I repeat....it's the price.
I agree. Not enough people are willing to pay this elevated price for a jeep
It’s definitely the case with the Wrangler. I never bought that the Gladiator had enough customers to sustain it. People want a Dodge Dakota not a Gladiator. It’s too niche for truck buyers. It’s also sad to see the Renegade and Cherokee completely collapse.
If your salary didn’t go up 48% in that time, you did something wrong.
@oldgrunt5569 Yep exactly. We wanted a Jeep Pickup. We didn't want a Wrangler Pickup
Any idea what was the old MSRP for Grand Cherokee V8 Summit Reserve before the crazy hike?
I've always said that if Jeep put a small V-8 in those Gladiators, they wouldn't be able to keep them on the lot.
You’re absolutely right. Maybe they will try this hurricane in it.
This guy had the same idea I was thinking! I want to see the high output hurricane engine in the wrangler and gladiator. THAT would be worth spending money on!
@@Aceinfinity-le8zc I think that Hurricane is reserved for the big bucks Wagoner.
@@AStanton1966figures!
Jeep entered the gladiator forum with a focus group thread recently. I asked for resurrection of the 5.2 and 5.9 magnum v8s and more gear options from factory. Wait and see what they do next.
The ford maverick outsold the gladiator because its affordable. Not everyone wants to buy an expensive vehicle
You’re absolutely right. It hits a level of affordability that has been missing in the truck segment.
Maverick and gladiator have two different purposes. But the gladiator is over priced.
Apples to oranges here, these are novelties for jeep people it’s not the same market. No maveric buyers were considering a gladiator
4Runner = Nice!!!!

Powerful!
It's like a 3/4 ton? In what world, lmfao. You're going to pull a 17,000lb 5th wheel toy hauler with it like we do with the 2500 Duramax?
The eco only comes in a auto
lol wow that a lot of cash
Calm down.
The real problem here is overpaid executives who are milking the company and providing very little in return.
I believe you’re right!
Actually PSA - Fiat -Chrysler profits went up 11%
Former Ford salesman here.
Solid axles are always better than IFS, it offers better durability and articulation.
A few more lights too!🥴
Thats awesome! I hadnt considered negotiating the steering box swap! very smart idea. And that sounds like a well built jeep!
It’s what makes our mindset grow.
i can not understand why folk pay that much for them just wild
My 18 year old 4.0 straight six is doing great. One expensive tranny repair and a new radiator core over the years, but still pretty bulletproof.
ive had to replace the radiator in my TJ, and my trans has been begging to die for months. And now im misfiring on a few cylinders and it looks like my 4.0 is on its last leg. But I have been excessively rough on it!
I think you nailed it they are pushing new cars into an unaffordable point for their true customers!
NOOO!! Man that’s some horrible luck! I hope you get it back soon and can really enjoy it!
That sucks 😂 they are great trucks though hang onto her. You will regret it if you get rid of her.
Go to a local dealer for service.I got my mine replaced last week in less then two hours.Been running great
The diesel is being discontinued for the Jeeps; kind of paints a picture.
They need a 2 door version of the gladiator. Some of us don't want to drive a school bus.
Agreed. This is a huge issue with Jeep right now. There is really good competition against them at more competitive prices.
Just said don't you Americans have any Pride or loyalty
A dealer not far from me is discounting their Sports are discounting them between $14000 TO $17000. to me, should be the MSRP, and then apply the discount. Now they've increased the prices for 2024. Makes no sense.
Agreed. If the gladiator was more competitively priced in its segment, I think it would sell much better!
The comparison between Maverick units sold to Gladiator units was a real eye opener.
I’m a jeep fan but their over pricing is why I bought a TRD off road premium 4Runner. I am very happy that these companies that were taking advantage of their customers are now getting a beating from buyers.
I bought my wife one of those TRDORPs. 😅great cars! I still have my Jeep!
Looked at a Wrangler and a Gladiator … WTF??? The prices especially with the options I wanted was nuts!
The maverick isn’t 4x4
The Ford Maverick is an overpriced car pretending to be a truck.
EV mistake is killing the auto industry.
Not many can afford a Gladiator
This is very true
Tacoma 50% thats just sad Americans have no Pride or loyalty at all
I love my Mojave! I wasn't price gouged either in 2020 so...
Same. I bought my eco diesel in 2021 fully loaded for 49k. I was fine with that price. But they keep raising prices constantly.
The Gladiator is far superior to your 4-runner for one main reason. The glorious 8-speed transmission…if you know you know!
Union wages went up to $150 an hour for full time employees
That’s awesome to hear!
Jeep sabotaged the Gladiator by never offering a v8 option, especially since everything on a 392 Wrangler is pretty much a bolt on. The price hikes have been crazy on them. You can option out a Gladiator to almost $80k, which is laughable for a mid size truck
Stop sales on the diesels, manual trans, etc, plus 3.6 cam issues, diesel fuel pump issues, paint corrison, leaking axle seals, and long wait time for fixes has turned off a lot of people that have one, or wanted to buy one.
I grabbed one during the sale. $14000 off sticker was good for me
Thats a good deal! Congrats on a great find! once you pass the hurdle of the cost, Jeep itself is a great vehicle. Ive loved all of mine.
The Gladiator isn't a truck. It's a 4 door Wrangler with a dinky bed stuck on the back. Make a two door and they would sell. Assuming the price was right.
Oh man, i would LOVE to see a 2 door gladiator on the trails. Jeep hinted at the possibility of building it for awhile, but nothing ever happened.
Derp.
😂new Jeep prices are
STUPID HIGH 😢😮
Bought my 2017 Willy’s in 2017 for 33k, including a hard top and premium tires. Now, the same is over 50k! No way, Jose.
Agree. The increase in price is more than it’s worth now
When I saw the launch of the revamp of Wrangler/Gladiator they said we listen to our customers....
I priced a rubicon 4 door and it was well over $60k! That’s just ridiculous. They’re also not safe in car accidents. Avoid them.
i agree that its hard to justify spending that much on a wrangler or gladiator. But i will say that Ive worked in EMS for 13 years and the only Wrangler occupants ive ever seen killed or injured in a car accident are the ones who didnt wear a seatbelt.
A motor home tried to push us off a mountain pass and my gladiator took the hit like a champ ..I even drove it 500 kms home..
For those old enough to remember the Scrambler it’s dejavue all over again😄
That’s my fear! The gladiator may be a discontinued line in the coming years.
Scramblers are expensive if you can find one in good shape and not rusted out for as old as they are. Good looking truck if done right.
Thinking of buying my first jeep gladiator. Great quality video.
Good luck and I hope this helped. There are definitely some good deals on them that can be found.
They need to address reliability and parts availability first before ever thinking about luxury.
It’s not 2015 dude. 35k🤣
I got my '23 Gladiator Willys for $16k off sticker, between the 15% off from Chrysler and another $10k off by the dealer. Like the others have said, it's the price. Price it right and it'll sell. Same reason I don't have a new diesel pickup.
Holy crap! Now that is a proper price adjustment! I may be heading to a dealer today to see what I can get locally!!
Yeah also took advantage of a huge discount got 14k off mine
I wonder if the Gladiator would have had higher sales if a two door option was available.
I’ve wondered how well one would sell also! It would be so good on the trails too!
@@mudtiremedia you should do a show on how the epa dictates auto design 4 doors on a truck puts it into the suv catagory for emissions and can bypass engine redesign
Are sales up by number of vehicles sold, or just number of dollars spent? That makes a big difference.
All of the stats are by volume and not dollars.
My 4.0 broke, so clearly you are incorrect.
I think the Ecodiesel would have sold a lot better had Stallantis not priced the option so high. I understand that they had to get some return on their investment, but they made you pay for the engine upgrade, and then charged you for the HD automatic transmission you were forced to get by “upgrading” to the ecodiesel.
So true! That cost was hard to swallow. And now GM offers their diesel at no extra charge, which is making them sell really well
GM made a smart move by making their diesel engine an option at no extra cost. In the US we aren’t used to running or even having the option to run a diesel in smaller trucks or SUV’s. To get people onboard, they have to be reasonably priced.
Got rid off my 21 wrangler and bought a 21 tundra pro. Same price.
It really is wild that jeeps are being sold at the same price point as full size loaded trucks!!!

The Maverick starts at $23K, a big difference from most midsized trucks.
Your right, it definitely is a fraction of the cost of a Gladiator; which would play a large role in the market share that it is occupying.

Still has Brand New 2022s😮
I fully agree. It’s spiraled out of control and I think sales have begun to show peoples frustration with it.
Why on earth would I spend 62,000 dollars on a jeep Gladiator (with bad reliability)when for 58,000 I can get a brand new Toyota To Tacoma pro fully loaded ?
Your right. It’s hard to swallow these prices when you can get their competitors for a better price.
Im surprised that dealers were recently offering any incentives on the wrangler, since it always seems to move off of lots fairly easily.
I have a 2023 Tacoma. I looked at a Gladiator before purchasing, they were asking as much as 20k more over a Tacoma. Hell no... That's insane. I like Jeeps, but not that much.
This is their problem. They are wanting their profit margin to be far too high for what they are selling and the market they are competing in.
That’s rough! I know my 2021 eco diesel was becoming riddled with issues and going into limp mode, which broke my heart bc I loved the Jeep otherwise.
I have the V6 gas with 8 speed auto. 35k miles, I hope my transmission doesn’t have problems too, that would suck.
It’s insanely tough to get a good rate when you’re going into a 50-70k vehicle.
Love the Gladiator Would love to see more on it. The Cost is the reason there isn't one in my driveway Yet.
Ill be sure to add more content on the gladiator soon! I have a friend who still has his for overlanding and planned to have his on here soon.
@@mudtiremedia Awsome.
Flying out to North Dakota to pickup my new high altitude sting ray gray… the only one in the country will be thinking about the 21% I got off all the way back to NYC….
No way!!! Congrats! One of the best colors and a heck of a deal! And you’ll get to have an awesome road trip to boot
I really hope that isn’t the case, but if something doesn’t change, you’re right.
That would be an EPIC pair, to have a JL and JT in the driveway.
You are forgetting the competition with Ford Bronco vs their Wrangler. As Wrangler owner - they additionally introduced a number of ridiculous upgrades that really didn't address a number of known issues. Wrangler brand new is an overpriced money sink
You are right. Too many of the new options on the Jeep are not wanted or needed.
Jeep needs to reduce the price for the Gladiator by 20-25%. Losing the auto shows is a major error by Stellantis NA. Also, Stellantis NA should incorporate the Hurricane Engine in the Gladiator and Wrangler.
I agree with ALL of this!
@@texttwenty-nine1627 I am sorry to hear that. here in Western Canada, Jeep , as a brand struggles with electrical and wiring issues , hope they sort it out soon,
That being said I see many rubicons and wagoneers on the road, so obviously people must like them
My wife and I went to buy a gladiator in october of 23 that was advertised and they had us drive one that had such loud mud tires I literally had to get off the hwy to hear what my wife was saying, I asked about the one that was on sale and I was literally TOLD, Oh so you don't like upgraded tires and you want non powered windows for your wife to have to deal with...
