    regarding #1, i can vouch for that, i used to have knee pain (and other pains) due to a mild lumbar scoliasis that cause me to have muscle and posture imbalences, mind you i am 27 at the moment. After joining the gym the knee pain is gone completely. Altought i dont do bar squats becasue it tends to hurt my back i do leg presses and lunges, cycling and all kinds of things and most o fht epains i had are gone

    It reminds me a lot about what Pavel Tsatsouline was talking about. What do you think about his approach to training?

      I’m a big fan. He was probably the first prominent figure in fitness/training that who’s work I followed. This video would no doubt be influenced by his thinking, in ways I may not have even been aware of.

    I have a question about progressive overload. Do I need to add weight to progressive overload? Can I use just RPE and RIR for hypertrophy? Such as consistently going to an RPE of 8-10?

    • @trainforever1142
      @trainforever1142  2 года назад +1

      RPE and RIR can be used for hypertrophy, yes. If someone trains consistently, the same weight will lead to lower RPE after a while, so some training variable needs to be increased to hit the same target RPE. This is not personal exercise advice.

    How to train for athletic body

    • @trainforever1142
      @trainforever1142  3 года назад +2

      There's two parts to this. The stuff inside the gym and outside. Inside the gym: Lift heavy, move stuff quickly, run, jump, hop, skip, bound, move in all three planes. It is vitally important to choose exercises and intensities that are appropriate for your current level and to slowly progress over time.
      Outside of the gym: Sleep a lot, drink a lot of water, eat enough to recover, and be patient!

    How about sissy push ups? Why get triggered by nicknames?

    • @trainforever1142
      @trainforever1142  Год назад

      Triggered? Huh? It's pointless gendering that's rooted in nonsense - the idea that the abdominal bracing in a full pushup would compromise fertility in women. Pushups from the knees and pushups from the toes is a more accurate and better way to describe things. What's wrong with updating the language we use to describe things when it becomes clear that the way we used to do it doesn't make sense?

      @@PlatinumAbra I coach exercise for a living. I like to do the best job I can. Making informed choices about the words I use helps me provide a better experience to the people I work with. I have to say, defending outdated, sexist, exercise terms that are demonstrably based on nothing is a very strange hill to die on, but to each their own.

      @@trainforever1142 And if I called it a cheater push up, you go apes!@# about that too. XD. It's an exercise, not an attack from the patriarchy, or mysogynists. Hit like a girl, isn't a personal attack, it's a statement of fact. But I'm older and not a snowflake. Have a good life, I did green some good tips.
