Hyundai Elantra prettier looking here .
I’m just glad Elantra still has physical HVAC buttons unlike the Sonata
Hyundai Elantra is super popular where I live! I see them everywhere! 😍 I love the bold and futuristic design. 💯 It's always the ones who haven't driven a Hyundai since 1993 who talk negatively about the brand. 🙄 But as a current 2017 Elantra owner, my car has been reliable for almost 7 years now. 💪 It's the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned, and I'm still under warranty! 🤩 I'm thinking about upgrading to the new 2024 Elantra or Sonata. 🤔 #Hyundai #Elantra #Sonata #Reliable #LoveMyHyundai
Ahhh my favorite Elantra the 2017 design was so good. My gf mom has it now and it's going over 140k already. Miss her so much but now driving a 2021 Elantra with 83k lol these cars are beautiful and reliable.
I picked up my 2024 Sonata AWD two weeks ago, and no complaints yet. You’ll love it!
@@InfiniteStrife77its just 2 weeks bro, wait 1 year
Where do you live?

Hyundai makes the best looking rims.
You had me dying sitting in the passenger seats with the car seat in! 🤣🤣🤣
so fun especially this content!!!!!
Mindbuildingsolutions approved!
Excellent video and content.
As for the trunk, the sedan’s advantage is having your stuff isolated in its own deck, while the hatch’s cargo hold forms part of the cabin. The sedan also offers better visibility at the rear because of straighter C-pillars, and allows for larger glass as it’s mounted on the bodywork itself rather than a tailgate that requires a separate frame.
Interesting title led to my expectations of "this is another drag race...let's roll!" Would have been interesting to see pedestrian cars drag and roll racing.
Don't wander to far away! I'm pretty sure its gonna happen.
The Canadian Pricing on the Hyundai site has TWO pricings - so the one used in this is basically the OTD price - with I think everything but local tax (so it would change in the builder once it knows your province). This is a huge advantage no doubt unpopular with the dealers in this market eh. Maybe correct me if I have it wrong.
I believe the 2024 Elantra is on par now with Honda and Corolla.
Spoke to a dealer and researched as well. 2024 Elantra has a new engine, no direct injection Atkinson plus issues in the past have been addressed.
I hope this is true. Time will tell.
I cannot wait for too long like 1 year to get a corolla. I am a toyota guy.
I ordered the basic model Elantra instead since wait time is only 2 months and the price is reasonable.
just got my 2024 Elantra Preferred with tech package. Have owned Honda, Toyota and Subaru previously. Initial impression of quality is on par with other japanese brands but it offers better value (tech and safety features).
Agree. I had corolla 2008 and rav 4 2016. They are on par now🎉
Great reviews, would have loved a drag race finale.
Coming
Civic is probably going to win since it has got more horsepower, 180 vs 147, you do the math.
@@blackwhirlwind1245Throttle House did a drag race between a Corolla xse, Civic turbo, and a Mazda 3 AWD (so heavier). Pretty disappointed in the Civic, since it’s underrated, at least 10th gen was faster…
On the roll race the Civic couldnt pull that far away from the Corolla. Yes corolla is 169 hp vs Elantra at 147 hp? But the Corolla is also 250-300 lbs heavier.
Sooooo a race between the Civic and the NA Elantra might be closer than youd think.
Here is Canada, if you have an infant and order a Corolla today, no worries about the infant seat, they will be in high school by the time you get it.
🤣
@@SamCarLegionI really hope the car shortages improve honestly. I only have 43234km of my 2020 Corolla LE at the moment
😂 i agree😂
Glad your videos are starting. tohave some humour Sam! Both are good Uber cars.
Glad you like them!
Kinda like Straight Pipes, but less clowning around
@@alstound yeah straight pipes is good but they clown around way too much.
Surely Mazda 3 would be a contender in this segment
I used to own Honda stocks and naturally looked at Honda sales worldwide. Sales of Honda in Asia falls way behind Toyota. Last year when looking at Honda Australia sale number, it was outsold by Toyota by a wide margin. Toyota sold 215,000 cars for 2023, Honda only managed 13,800. People were sick at Honda pricing themselves heads and shoulders above Toyota for the same products (Example Corolla vs Civic and RAV4 vs CRV).
Honda Australia is 💩. There isn’t a single manual Civic in the lineup below the Type R. The Accord only came with the 1.5T engine. The Jazz (Fit) got only five gears compared to America’s six. There’s an array of crossovers, ZR-V, HR-V and of course CR-V, but the trims are mostly FWD and CVT is the sole transmission available.
yes I agree. BTW I no longer have Honda stocks so I don't really care.@@alstound
Honda is WAYYYY too expensive
My dream car Elantra N 😭
Honda says Civic Hybrid is coming this year! "The production of the new Civic Hybrid sedan will kick off in spring 2024 at Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) in Alliston, Ontario."
🤞
The title of this took me out 🤣 definitely a good one
refresh elantra coming soon, that would be a better competitor to the civic
This is a refresh one
oh yeah haha just noticed
I really enjoy Sam's Post. I would disagree on the handling aspects of the two cars. I never hear anything about how great the Hyundai handles. I do here great tech and good value. Everyone does go out of the way to mention the amazing cornering and steering in the Civic. I also hear it to is a value as the resale on civics are incredibly higher than everything else except Corolla. I researched the Civic the Elantra the Corolla and Mazda 3. I gave the Impreza a glance. Before actually buying one of them. I could pick everyone of them apart. I could point out what makes them differ and what makes them good. But only the cars mentioned because that's what I could afford thank you Jo.
A good set of dedicated snows for the winter for the Civic . They all have the same ground clearance. With the refresh Civic for 25 and the introduction of Hondas excellent Hybrid set up it the clear choice
Hey Sam I know Mazda is trying to consider themselves a luxury brand now but I'm wondering where the Mazda 3 would fall in this group
In my opinion when both these brands (Hyundai and Honda) exists, no reason to buy a Mazda.
Keep talking about Elantra having the N Line as a sportier version but the Civic has the Si as well.
I did mention the SI but most people don’t know how to drive manual
You mean TYPER
@@frankbrokercr no I meant Si. I would could consider the Elantra N-Line the competitor of the Civic SI and the Elantra "N" rivals the Type R
@chrissimmons9969 didn't knew there were Elantras now with an N treatment lol 😆
To each its own, I like the look of the Civic.
I am drawn to the elantra, I find the civic and the corolla way to pedestrian looking and the hyundai just looking more futuristic. the Civic and Corollas have better repuations of course, but I notice a lot of elantras on the roads, of all ages, these cars seem to last a long time as well, which give me a pice of mind in picking this elantra, I'll be making my decision soon
Elantra looks like a 1986 Buick
Great show 😊 ! I think I would definitely go for the Civic over the Hyundai. How are the Mazda 3 over the Civic and Elantra ?
Good question!
The N-line competes with the Si. So comparing those engines makes no sense. You’d have to compare it to the Si’s engine output.
Thats not an Si
@@SamCarLegionnor is it an N-Line. But during the engine comparison at 17:34 you compared the the Na outputs to the Turbo outputs accept the only version of the Hyundai that gets that 1.6L turbo is the N-Line which again competes with the SI, not the Sedan Touring or the Hatchbacks. You said the Hyundai N/A 2L at 147hp and 132lbs to Honda N/A 2L at 158hp and 138Lbs, and the Hyundai N-Line engine 1.6T 201hp no torque number to Honda’s Hatches and Sedan Touring engine at 1.5L 180hp and 177Lbs. Should have been Hyundai’s N-Line engine to Honda’s Si engine as they’re competitors at 200Hp and 192Lbs. Hyundai doesn’t have a mid option to compete with the Hatches and Sedan touring as in those models in the Hyundai your only option is the N/A engine, at 147hp. Hyundai does have the Hybrid but it’s at 139Hp.
So just to clarify. The N-Line engine is 201hp and 195Lbs to Si engine at 200hp and 192Lbs. Still more for Hyundai but not as big a difference as stated.
I've never seen their all-wheel drive proven with the way they call it all wheel drive where they put a small 7 horsepower motor on the back wheels that's not real all-wheel drive it's a cop out
Honda is living off a old reputation… Hyundai is better all around and better looking especially the N line
Clearly promoting civic in this video . Elantra has vide range of features, who cares for resale value when you don’t experience smart features
I’ll take the civic. I have SUV trunk space, a manual in the top trim, ect. I can live without the AWD 100%. I can just put spoilers on my civic and stickier tires. Why have AWD on a car that’s already over $32 when you start signing papers. The Elantra and Corolla can hv their smaller, slower cars, AWD for higher prices.
I think I would buy the Civic because of the Hatchback option. Thanks Sam 😀
Good choice!
I will wait for the refresh for the Hyundai Elantra there are too many odd things implemented in the car. The grab handle makes me feel a bit claustrophobic in the cabin.
That IS the Refresh as he said several times.
If you don’t like this REFRESHED Elantra, you will have to wait for the new generation/redesign.
I don't get all these people complain about space from a compact car. You want space get a fuckin truck or suv. All these compact cars now days are fuckin huge.
Civic is the safer bet long term especially when factoring in resale value. Civic feels more expensive than it is. Elantra still feels incredibly cheap all around.
Everything u said was facts 👍
So in your logic.. you’d put the Kia telluride over the Honda pilot? Or are you just biased??
@@theofficialquent3488 Pilot has way better resale value so it still goes on top? And it’s more utilitarian and better off road.
@@theofficialquent3488Pilot holds its value better than Telluride so not sure what your point is
Especially with the hybrid civic coming out soon, the hybrid is the better powertrain
Three equally uninspiring grocery getters .
Elantra wins.
I love the look of the civic
Honda 1.5T is known for oil dilution issues, the same issue Hyundai experienced on their theta 2 engine from 2011-2014
Civic is better but you’d expect that
the k20c2 will last forever compared to the shitty engine found in the elantra, thats the difference.
@@alpe6228that was a good one😂
Seems like hyundai is coming out on top. Good thing i did my research and own one! 😂
Yeap, Hyundai made a mistake with the GDI engines but trust me when I say Kia/Hyundai are now doing things real great.
Unlike Honda, their sinking their legendary reliability.
That Hyundai is hideous. Looks like Zoro tagged it. The design of it looks like it was influenced by the winner of an elementary school drawing contest.
Should have went back to Hyundai and get the N-line Elantra for a real comparison.
Not fair
Damn that Elantra needs exterior redo
The 2.0l CVT Elantra is maybe Hyundai's worst offering
😏 Promo>SM
Who in their right mind would buy a Hyundai over a Honda?
Liberal folks haha
@@canadianaviator you ain't lying haha
considering the civic in the video is $6000 more than the Elantra you would have to be a moron to spend 40k on a honda civic
Exactly @@dustinjohnston2241
@@dustinjohnston2241as a hotshot trucker that can care less about Honda or Hyundai I will give my personal unbiased opinion since I would really never buy either of these. I have contracts with car manufacturers to deliver engines and transmissions. And let me tell you I deliver a whole bunch of engines and transmissions to Hyundai and the dealership mechanics at Hyundai always tell me about how unreliable those cars are and how bad they feel for these people after there warranty is out because they are so backed up with how much these Hyundais blow there engines and transmissions
Now that Elantra is awfull to me ... Hyundai style is getting worse
Elantra is ugly as hell, it’s tacky looking inside and out, long term quality is nowhere near of the Civic. Civic is a quality piece, I wouldn’t even consider the Elantra.
