How much sound does the fan for the G-sync module produce? Heard lots of people was annoyed that it was quite loud on monitors that rocked a module with a fan...
Watched both of your videos about this monitor. Both were nail-on. I've got a window opened, DELL, so I must be serious about getting one. It should go nicely with my Alienware Aurora R8. The only thing I'll need to get is an RTX 3080 when they become available at MSRP. What a laugh! Don't think that the R8 with its 2080ti OC can handle this monitor. The lights on the back don't really make sense to me. A normal PC setup has the back of the monitor facing a wall. My desk is positioned so that it is perpendicular to the wall. This way, I have easy access to the rear of both the monitor and case. One negative with the controls is their location. Why do they have to be mounted on the rear? Controls used to be where one could see them, on the front and LED lighted. Just hope it arrives without damage. Delivery people have a method of delivery, best called the throw and run.
more and more manufacturers are putting controls on the back of monitors, I think it's just more have the front looking cleaner and so the bezels don't need to be as big.
Of the 2 big screens you guys have reviewed recently, this and the Samsung G9, which would you think is best for AAA fun gaming? Both seem to be available in the UK for similar prices. Thanks

Struggling to know whether I should get this or the LG 38GN950-B. As far as I can tell, they have the same specs, however the LG one is like £300 more?
I had the same dilemma but ultimately went for the dell, I just bought it today for £1,100 compared to the price of £1,500 for the LG 38gb950b. They're literally the same panel however the aw3821dw has the silent gsync module which is more smoother gameplay as it covers 1-144hz (max refresh rate) rather than gsync compatible which is 48-144hz. With the module games are smoother and this helps alot especially with upcoming demanding triple A titles where your GPU may not be able to deliver good fps especially at this resolution w/ rtx etc... the module will keep the smoothness despite lower frames whilst the "gsync compatible" one will start to stutter and tear below that certain range.

It's very tempting to purchase, and I might purchase it, but it's missing a few features that I can get in some monitors. 1) it should have upstream/downstream USB ports so my mouse and keyboard can switch between multiple PCs through the monitor when I change the HDMI selection option. Some people call this Auto-KVM. 2) it should be able rotate 90 degrees in case I want to browse the web or edit documents. 3) If it has lights on the back, as this one does, the lights should be synced with the screen so that whatever is displayed on my screen gets mirrored onto the wall behind my display. 4) It probably should support Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture. Maybe it does, but you didn't mention it here and I didn't download the manual yet. But thanks for the nice review and I may return to your channel for more in the future.
