I fell in love with the Switchback when I stumbled on one in early 2011 at my dealer. Ordered mine and love it. I consider it a sleeper. Less weight, easy to maneuver, and has some of that ole FL DNA in it. Calling it a ladies bike killed it along with being a Sportser upgrade. It's a great little hotrod and easy on my lower back. Harley failed on accessories and should have come out with a larger bag upgrade. Other than that, I won't be letting mine go any time soon! Thanks for posting yours!

Thanks for the comments Tom. I think it's far from a Sportster upgrade and far from a Ladies bike when given a few a few performance mods. I also wish Harley offered a bag upgrade that looks like what we see on the specials. Cheers.....

I have a 2014 I have had for a few months now. Putting on 100 miles weekly I'm in love. First time Harley owner. Looking at taking it to stage 2 this year 🙌 hoping to hit 100hp

      Nice,
Look up De-catting a dyna switchback on Delboy's Garage RUclips channel and you'll save big bucks on a new head pipe.

Nice ride. I have a 14 in black also and love it. Came from a road king that I also loved but I wasn't flat footed and I am on the Dynas. Stock exhaust but I scared the cat away within the 1st week and I run enricheners on it because HD is forced to run them too lean stock. But now she breaks the rear tire loose easily and is a blast to run around town or do some cross state riding 👍. The only gripe is the lack of aftermarket stuff. I usually find most Dyna parts fit except for anything on the front end with the road king-ish nacelle and fork tubes 🤷‍♂️

I scored my switchback same deal. No miles say for years ina garage. I ended up with a 583, basani road rage and screaming eagle pro street. It is a super fun machine. I run it with no windshield, 12” apes and a sissy bar. Mine is a 2015 blue

I have a 2012 that I went club style with. They look good that way too. Fairing was hard to find due to the headlight. Glide-Pro custom made one for me. No complaints. And if I get tired of it I can switch the bars and put my windshield back on and is a completely different looking bike. I go to my local dealer once a month for something it seems. Every time they offer to buy my bike.
Im sure its just because they want me to buy a new bike though lol. They got their offer to 9.5k for trade. Prob is I want the lowriders S but not at the prices they want lol. Bad time to buy a new bike wit hall the mark ups. After seeing up to 5k mark ups I am here you are. This is the perfect bike at the moment so Ill hang onto it awhile

looking at a 2012 with 13,000 miles- not the low mileage offering you found, but i'm just trying to sort what its price should be (assuming mechanically and physically sound). his is listed at 8200 but i believe somewhere in the high 6 low 7 range is more appropriate. all of the reviews on these seem to be very high- i'm surprised it appears to be such a solid offering at such a low used value (maybe it's the unassuming/'ordinary' look they have?). nice bike and great overview

Switchbacks are probably the BEST (lighter) cruiser for riding 2-up -weight-wise. it's GVWR is 1,170lbs (as equipped) - 720lbs for the bike itself (wet) = 450lbs. I aint no lightweight (@290) but still have enough room (payload wise) for my sweetheart -in case she says: "Honey, I'm bored"...

Nice ride. Good job on the overview. Questions I have if you're game? How tall are you? Do you wear a full face? How would you rate the wind protection of the Memphis Batwing on a scale of 1-10? How would you rate the buffeting on a scale of 1-10,(10 being perfectly calm in the chest/head pocket)? Last, how much do you ride at 70-80mph? My ride is a '17 Dyna Low rider that's been "Sport-Switchbacked", I'm currently running a Memphis Slim with a custom lower deflector. The idea of better wind protection is appealing. Thanks in advance.

Well......I had to experiment with 3 different windshields and I belive the last one was the 9" spoiler. and then I added the lower air deflectors which helped a lot with buffeting. so in the end..... I'd give the whole thing an 8. I'm long waisted and with my Nolan helmet having an over the top pivoting visor I still get a little buffeting but it's way better than no windshield. The Batwing fairing keeps so much wind off your body making long trips less tiring. Good luck and ride safe

Thanks for your timely reply. It seems my bike keeps evolving with my changing riding style, something I believe the Dyna is very adept at. I wish I could post a picture for you. Current changes include: BODY; FL style front fender fitted on the FX front end,(a fender that actually does something when caught out), Modified Memphis Shades Slim windscreen,(maybe a 6 for wind protection with 6-7 for buffeting), customized crash bar with integrated catch can, fitted riser/handlebars, Saddleman dominator seat & pillion

Looks like your slip on exhaust is loose. When you started it it was flopping around.
    Might need a support bracket

How worthwhile are the hardbags? They look like the little Sportster soft bags (in capacity).

5'10 but long waisted so my sitting position aligned with windshield is like a 6'0-6'1" person.
Switchback is gone now, just bought a Road King. Switchback's are great though!

@@parkwayclassics8443thanks for the reply. I'm 5'7" so the switchback allows me to tour without having a huge bike (I'm a small dude). Just put the 5inch spoiler windshield on it. It is snowing here so I can't test but looks good for my sightline. Happy riding on your road king! :)

Harley-Davidson made a big mistake when they stop making this model well they really messed up when they stop making the dyna models that’s when I switched to Indian bikes, I loved the dynas I bought superglides from the early 1970s to 2006 and now I’ve gone to Indians, thanks Harley-Davidson
