The Harley-Davidson Dyna Nobody Wanted

- The Harley-Davidson Dyna nobody wanted was probably one of the best steals in all of the Harley-Davidson line up that was completely over looked. The Dyna Switchback had everything, and I mean everything. This bike was anything you wanted it to be from a cruiser to full on touring bike. You could take a Dyna Switchback and take the touring to the next level with dual exhaust, bat wing fairing and a stereo. They weighed less than a full on touring model and arguably rode just as well if not better!

Do you or have you owned a Swithcback? What are your thoughts on the Switchback compared to the touring models?
Had one, loved it, except the seat, couldn't stand it for more than 10 miles at a time, killed my lower back, even with a different seat
Handle better than the bigger bikes enough room in the bags I can carry what I need it's a really good ride till about 60 mph and it gets a little too much vibration for my liking.
Maybe the nick name Road Queen had something to do with no one wanting it
I put a Fatboy front fender on mine. Made it look better.
Owned a Switchback for 3 seasons, thinking it would be good for short in town trips + weekend overnights. Bad decision. In town it was just boring, about as plain Jane as they come. On longer trips, I couldn’t ride it for more than an hour or two. Suspension was lacking, weak acceleration, and the turbulence was intolerable. The dyna was never meant to tour. At the time my dad had a Road King so I got to ride them back to back, man what a difference. Plush, good wind protection, and decent power. Later I spent some time touring on a Road Glide… also a nice bike. I wound up trading in the Switchback for a BMW R 1200 RT and warped into the 21st century… but that’s another story.
I purchased two Switchbacks just before Covid, to use for guests to ride at our AZ home in the winter. Only paid $7,000 per bike, Bone stock, and mileage was under 6k miles. Best HD value ever! Added batwing fairings and we’ve done 350-400 mile days with no problem.
Can I come visit?
Me too!!!!
Me three
Just bought a 2014 Switchback. Love it. Been on a few 4-5 hour cruises with no issues at all. Looking forward to riding the Blueridge Parkway this spring.
People say it's a bike made for women or it's a Road Queen. They say real men need to ride big heavy Glides or Road Kings. So guys end up buying a bike that's too big and heavy for them to handle, so they either crash it or quit riding it and just let it sit. I say don't listen to what anyone else says. Buy a bike that you can handle and that you're comfortable riding. I sold my 2020 Yamaha MT-09 that was a veritable rocket and bought a 2012 Switchback last year. With the lower center of gravity on the Switchback I can flick around the 718 pound Harley just as easily as I could the 420 pound Yamaha. I have had two Electra Glides in the past and to me the Switchback is just as good and a hell of a lot cheaper. I'm almost 70 and have been riding motorcycles since I was 15. So I can picture myself riding the Switchback for many more years and miles. Keep up the awesome work GixxerFoo.
Your comments encourage me about a Switchback. I'll be 70 in May. I now ride a 2006 Vulcan Classic 900 (577 lbs.). I was concerned about the extra weight of the Switchback. There are a couple for sale in my area, and I've seriously thought about buying one. Thanks for your insights. Ride safely and enjoy!
Not this guy , I know a great bike for a smaller framed man when I see it ....
I'm actually in the process of buying a Dyna Switchback now. I've driven it, and it definitely has good stock power. It rides like a dream. I can't wait to get it.
Damn that's awesome!! That Switchback is the bike I really want , hard to find though!
I would like to know if the front forks are one-off or what fairing will fit. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Perfect for what I do--solo weekday errands, then two-up on the weekends in the mountains. I upgraded the seat and suspension for my wife.
The Switchback was such an under appreciated concept, like anything that goes out of production people catch on and start appreciating them now!
Got a Switchback....love it.
Great tourer....spent 11 hours in torrential rain on her....loaded her up to go to a festival on her too...handled it.
I'm in the U.K...and been told there's only about 42 in the country...so very rare here.
Always gets compliments
I’ve had my Switchback for three years now. I always said I would never have a Harley as my only bike but this bike has changed my mind. This winter it’s coming off the road for some tlc and a bit of customization - it’s so much easier to live with than my old Road King and I love it!
i just bought a 2014 switch back a week ago, it was something i was looking at for awhile , originally i wanted to get a SG but finance wouldnt so my salesman remember i looked at this bike n got me in , i didnt test drive but for a sec i thought it was a SG cuz it has the hard saddles and the batwing fairing, i love how smooth it rides, only thing this one is barebone stock and its too quiet looking to make it louder, but over all i love my switch back
Dyna's Rule ✌️
FXR was a much better bike. The Dyna was a step backwards.
@PotatoeJoe69 Dyna's do rule. FXRs are really cool too.
I bought a switchback just over a year ago and absolutely love it. I’ve been touring on the mainland (Australia), and it just loves the winding roads here in Tasmania. Definitely Harley’s version of the Edsel. But try and find one, the owners, including me will not part with them.
I'm in the process of turning my 07 Superglide Custom into a Switchback.
The first thing I did was swap the rear fender, added the hard bags, and swapped the front end, all with Switchback parts. I have the Switchback 2 into 1 exhaust, and purchased a Flash Gordon muffler pipe, but still need to remove the cat before installing. I recorded the front end install and plan on posting here on youtube some day.
Excellent content you have, keep up the good work.
Pretty much what I did with my 08 Fat Bob , have bags , batwing , and way less weight along with the dual disc front wheel . Was looking at a switch but fat bob just fit me better .
Fat Bob is the bomb! Have an 08. V&H free flow exhaust, CVO tach, Viking bags, HD fairing, oil cooler, HD touring seat. Not to mention the dual discs and dual headlights.
I knew as soon as I saw the thumbnail it was going to be about the Switchback. I loved that bike and would own one myself. I loved that they looked like a slimmer Road King.
I can definitely relate to this one as I have the M8 Softail that attempted the same thing as the Switchback. Also didn’t really sell all that well, but love my ride.
I was looking for a sport glide in my area. I couldn't find one! Ended up with a Heritage.
I own a 2016 Switchback with the 103 High Output and a Vance & Hines True Duals exhaust. Other than that, it's very much stock, it was a steal of a deal and I absolutely love it! I've put hundreds of miles down per day on a couple of road trips with no issues whatsoever. I can't wait to swap out some parts - I have handlebars, lighting and suspension in mind, as well as many cosmetic upgrades - and really make it my own!
Been riding my Switchback for 2yrs now and absolutely love it. Just a great sled! Great video!
What I liked most about the Switchback are the hardbags. They fit all Dynas 2006-2017. In 2006 I got a pair of vivid black Switchback hardbags dirt cheap. I was going to flip them. Soon after that I got a real great deal on a single owner low mileage 2007 Dyna. It's vivid black. I put the Switchback bags on the Dyna and love it. I kept my stock fender and stabilized the bags with a saddlebag lower bracket off of early dresser saddlebags. Harley should have had Switchback saddlebags with a mounting kit for all the Dynas in their catalogs.
I loved the switchback, set me in mind of the late 70’s FLHS , they ain’t cheap in the resale market now
To me it was the reintroduction of the original style Electra Glide that ran its course back in the early 80's when it gave way to the tri mount Tour Glide frame.
Who knows how history would have gone had it been available as a platform in 1980 as opposed to 1990.
Buyers would have noticed a huge difference in ride comfort and handling from the old FL/FX frame.
I was blown away the first time I test rode series one Dyna and like many people preferred it to the FXR.
I still have yet to test the later Dynas but for me they always looked like a solid platform. Not perfect with the swing arm on the trans but a great overall bike.
nothing, i mean nothing is better than the traditional up to 1984 is old 4spd FLH frame,,,,,,, end of story ! as far as the rubber mounted FLT then , no way jose !,,,, that said in the 90's they reversed this & gosh to i ever mioss my olf FLH 190 E glide classic
I've got a 2014 Dyna SB. Love this bike. It’s like riding an older (60’s, 70’s, 80’s) FL… lighter, better handling, better suspension, bigger motor, faster, better brakes, low seat height, detachable shield and bags, rubber mounted, reliable.
I just bought a 2014 switchback, and am one happy rider! First HD and simply love it! Feel great, good power and love the versatility.
I had some lower back issues and the lower weight was a selling point for me. Also, i liked that you could have a couple different looks depending on how you needed it! Minus long haul trips, the Switchback checked most of the boxes for me! I think Harley marketed it wrong. They sold it as a step up from Sportster or a bike for women. I thought it had that ole FL kind of look and those 5 spoke wheels had a hotrod feel to them! I still get compliments on the bike and mine is a 2012. I would have loved to see an oversized saddle bag developed. And now it's hard to find any of the accessories that Harley had out for them anymore. Don't see me parting with mine!
Sup bub! Enjoy your content, well now you touch the subject dear to my heart ..
I bought a 12 in Aug of 11 , and then when I retired rode it around the country solo for 2 straight months.
She has gone thru 3 phases . It chrome and wrinkle set of dd's ss/ a/c pc 5 , mustang seat.. very sweet , 2nd phase vand h long shot staggered, 14inch apes all stainless cabling . Fp 3
, as of today it's on the stand , 21 fat spoke s 18 back whit walls hi flow cone intake , cobra rpt 2 into 1, and updating the cam chest with fueling plate , pump, lifters etc, and some woods 777,s can we say yeah haw.. I love this bike.. 53 k, all original parts stashed and stored , I have way more than a street glide special in her , She ruby.. shes loved.
I did pick up another toy a 06 88 ultra with 21k and needing love , and from your advice I pulled the cam , cover. Well that turned into fuel cam chest woods tr6 cam , high flow ac and s and 98 hi comp big bore kit. Ultima 2 into 1 , with dyno jet tuning.. thx for your content .. lol sometimes ya crack me up .. ride safe..
I own two Switchbacks. One is personalized to my preference, the other is stock. Both great bikes. They stand out because of their uniqueness and what you pointed out in your video. Great info!
Those are becoming the forgotten Dyna and truly waaaay under appreciated. They are stellar bikes, hard to imagine the Low Rider ST is as close as you can get to one now and the price is almost 10k more new. Sport Glide was a flop after the Switchback.
I ride my HD Switch back mainly in the Swiss Alps and like it!! After the Dyna Sport Glide I still own I thought it would be a good idea to by a fast cornering cruiser to ride the twisty roads around here. I can be in France, Italy and Austria the same day on a quick bike.. 🙂
Buy a Hayabusa and get it over with. Then you can actually slow down yet still get to see all three countries. Then ride one of the Harleys on a much needed slower day AKA (one county)
@@ltsgarage7898 I sold my Suzuki GSXR 1100 also the Triumph Speed Triple. To many speed traps around here ...With HD bikes I normally don't ride faster than 10km over the limit.
I bought my first bike, a '12 FLD last year with 9900 on the clock, ok, 9903. It came with a hidden wire T-bar set up, Bassani exhaust, brand new tires, a fresh oil change, and a Drag Specialties custom seat. I changed the seat for a custom Corbin, which I was able to ride in and ride out with at the Corbin factory, that was pretty awesome. Since then I've put another 4500 on her. Awesome bike, cruising the Monterey Coast. Recently saw another one listed for very reasonable, but I just dont have the funds for a spare one, regrettably.
The issue with the switchback was the cost. For what Harley was charging, you could get a heritage softail for the same money.
I would say Harleys angle on that is the hard bags and detachable accessories.
Yeah but then you’d have inferior suspension and sparks every time you try to go around a corner.
@@jefferylabouski1152 what’s wrong with sparks?!
not in this area.. heritage was on par with the road king in price at around $15-$1700 more
I like that bike pic early on in the vid with the knobby tires.
I could have some fun with that!
Bought a 2013 Switchback in big blue pearl in February of this year. My first Harley-Davidson. I frickin’ love it for all the reasons you mentioned! Light, nimble, fast, cruising and touring all in one. And cheap!!! Out the door from the dealer for under $10k. Same year road king would have cost another five. It’s perfect!
Thanks for picking up on my switchback comment on a previous video, they are great bikes and under appreciated, oh well that’s good for the well informed
I just down sized to a switchback from a streetglide because of the weight. Im 5'6 and almost 70 yrs old. Dont want to stop riding as of yet. Great handling bike and will go cross country on it in August.
It's crazy how much lighter the switch back is and it still ride really well down the road!
56,000 miles. Set of cams and exhaust runs excellent!
I have a 2013 Switchback. Memphis Shades batwing fairing, Saddlemen seat with back rest, full stage one with tune and Vance and Hines 2 into 1 exhaust, full LED lighting all around, engine guards, bag guards, sissy bar with rack, 12 inch mini apes, Legend suspension in the rear, and front and rear engine/frame braces to take care of the death wobble. What a great cruiser, and good for light touring. IMHO the best Dyna Harley ever made.
I'm more of a wide glide fan myself.
Hi there, which VH model you fit on your.. has been hard to find it.. thanks
Picked up a 2012 in black last year. Haven't needed to do much but as the weather gets cooler, I'm gonna add the batwing, it's already setup up and tuned stage one, V&H 2-1, and a few other things. I like the bike alot, the simplicity of it, not flashy, quick, and fairly unnoticeable. I've always owned Dynas, because I don't like baggers, but this bike stops to me and has me looking at the Heritage classic now.
I've always thought the Dyna Switchback was super cool, just missed buying a really clean silver one decked out like a street glide last year, still hurts!
I've owned a switchback since 2015 and I love this bike
Had a '16. Worst thing was vibration caused by the way the exhaust was mounted. There were "fixes" to lessen it, but it IS a Dyna. Went into a dealer one day after a few beers and walked out with a '18 Heritage and its a good bike overall, but yeah, I miss the Switchback.
Dyna Switchback was a touring bike for women and small men. A real man would never buy one.
@@jellydick5839yeah, real men ride fatter and heavier bikes with the same engine 😂 you clown
@@jellydick5839 Your name says it all and you're talking about bad about this bike???
I simply love mine! I've ridden mine on long rides and short rides. It's never let me down. Find the right shock height and you have a sweet cruiser.
Still one of my favorite Harleys to this day! These bikes are so versatile!
mine is mostly black powdercoated with a batwing and radio and dual pipes, looks like a street glide, handles like a dyna. i get a lot of compliments on her.
When you have one done up like that I have to look twice! That's an awesome setup!
I really liked the switchbacks. If I was to get a newer bike that would probably be it
Love my fxdwg 100th anniversary, 48k miles running strong and won't ever get rid of it. RG is my next option to have best of both worlds
Loved my Switchback. Awesome handling.
They did it with the FXRT before the switchback, then the sport glide and now the low rider ST. Theyre usually a great entry into touring.
I really liked them and wanted one pretty bad but ended with an Electra glide classic.
Great video!
Rider's may not have flocked to the dealers when the Switchbacks, & sport glides were brand new,
But like the FXRT as used bikes they are treasured and the prices reflect that.
I liked the Switchbacks from the start because they resemble the 4 speed FX superglides, and dressed FLH's.
Unless a Switchback is in poor condition,
Sweet deals are less frequent because they are very sought after now unlike the evo sportster which is readily available used because the market is flooded with them.
The dyna convertible was a big hit too.
A nice set of used convertible bags fetches good coin now.
There's such a demand for the middle weight touring accessories now,
A company from India is reproducing the FXRT saddlebags!
HD makes the (high) lowrider with bags,
But not every rider is into the "club" look.
Fashion over form IMHO.
old man Paul bought one new, we were all amazed how well it rode, and, because of its smaller stature, it kept 71 year old Paul on two wheels for a bunch more years
I've finally put some miles on my most recent bike, a 2012 switchback. Haven't done anything radical to it other than a thunder header slip-on and maintenance. Mostly ride mountain technical twisties and some hiways. I'm 5'7" and 72 years, this bike fits me like a glove the ride very comfortable, fast and nimble. Baggs are big enough for riain gear, tools and other daily essensials and still some space to bring stuff back home. I'm loving it and the sporty is jealous. Jajaja
The Switchback is my dream bike, it's literally a Road King without all the weight. The Dyna rides like a dream, my personal bike is Sportster with bags and a windshield just setup for how I ride. I know, Sportster... but it fits me cause I am 5'7" too, it's paid for and it fits me.
@@GixxerFoo it really is the perfect bike, people don’t understand that size wise it’s about as big as what the early EG used to be. It’s just BS people think you can’t tour or do anything, AMF era Sporty’s used to go coast to coast or a CB350 when that was the era, now riders think they need a ultra classic if it farther then ten miles
My 2012 Switchback was my 3rd Dyna. I had an '07 Street Bob, and a 2000 Wide Glide. I liked the versatility of the Switchback. You could ride longer distances, or strip it down for around town. I ended up painting mine a custom dark blue similar to HD Billiard Blue (bike was red to begin with), adding some 13" bars, powder coating everything I could black to get rid of the chrome, put on some progressive shocks, it already had an aftermarket exhaust, and I bought a removable Glide-Pro fairing that took the place of the windshield (painted to match bike). It makes a really cool (and lighter) "bagger" in a somewhat club style. I get lots of looks and compliments on it...I still have a special place for the new Lowrider ST though, but that stems from my love for tricked out FXRTs. Overall, I've been really happy with the Switchback, but I'm sure I will eventually upgrade to something different.
Have 2014, with 15k, dude it's awesome bike , I'm 57 with bad hips and bike is perfect with seat height and weight. Love this bike
I love the switchback it is absolutely the right blend of features with reduced weight.
Great Video Gix! One of my fav bikes also. People read in to it too much. Harley was just trying to bring back a version of the old FLH's that us grey beards could afford and ride. I see them for sale in the Detroit area more often than you'd think. I can send when I see, if I had an address.
I look at Harleys for sale at least twice a day.
I really like it. I have only seen one, maybe. I'm surprised they weren't more popular. I think they're cool.
I’d rather have this dyna than any of the Softails.
Never heard of it until now. I stopped riding until last year when I bought an 883. But the convertible Dyna sounds fabulous. Wish I had realised. Would have looked for it. Though I actually love the little '09 883 low.
Loved my switchback until I started doing back to back back big mileage days
Very true, this was a very unique and attractive motorbike with alot of endless possibilities.
Wha?? Everybody loves Dynas! 🙂
What's up, buddy? I sure do love my dyna. A street bob
I own a 2016 Switchback and I love it! I upgraded the intake (DKCustoms), Bassani Road Rage exhaust, and Zippers RS528 cams. The little guy will scoot! Also get mistaken for a Road king frequently.
Just bought for my wife. It’s been transformed into a superglide. It’s a great bike . Rides nice ,handles nice and it’s done right with lots of custom parts that weren’t cheap for someone!
We owned a 2014 Blackened cayenne color Switchback, this was sweet, but did have a harmonic vibration on the road, also as an FLD touring model it only came with a little 4.7 gallon tank, always question why the motor company did that. Was a cool machine though, wish we still had it. Great video as always!
I am on my second Switchback. I had a 2013 and now a 2015. Very tricked out. Best bike I've ever owned so I bought another. Superior Blue.
Idgaf what they say I just got mine but it’s the best Harley out it’s light easy to maneuver and the power makes it absolutely the best choice for the cruise or long haul
I love the Swtichback that's always been a favorite of mine!
My 1995 FXDL with saddle bags and wind screen (never used and run over parking in the garage one night) with dual disc fronts is my original Switch Back.
The image of the 80 Sturgis shovel head Evo AMF is one of the nicest bikes ever made.4 speed tranny belt drive primary (not good for burnouts) and kick start is the real Winner this week.
Thanks Foo....oh and by the way the Switck Back has its place just not in my garage.
That road glide style fairing is made by Wedge, I have one on my Streetbob, they’re really well made.
They are some damn nice fairings!!
@@GixxerFoo they’re definitely very slept on, I’ve only run into one other person with one.
Liked your video. I looked at the Switchback back in 2016. Looked good and the versatilty was appealing. Passed on purchasing one and bought a Fat Boy 114 in 2018. The Switchback may have been a better choice in the long run.
I love my 98 1200 custom and my 92 electraglide for different reasons. Was looking for a bike to bridge the gap, be the best of both worlds. My 2012 FLD is the answer. Love it
First the Deuce, then the Switchback, then the Sport Glide. All aimed for the the same target, and just missed. Then came the Low Rider ST, and it hit the dead center of the target. Selling like hotcakes!
What? The Deuce was a stretched out chopper. Completely opposite the style of Switchback and Sportglide.
I am looking at purchasing a Evo! Possibly a 99 Heritage Softail! I have been very entertained and informed by all of your wonderful videos on the evolution platform. Thank you so much!!! 👍👍
I own a 2012...love the bike...and Im lucky to have the duel out both sides...original hard bags. Put motorwork in it to bump it up from a 103 to 107 and it's got great pop/hauling capacity.
My gal and I are 6ft'ers...loaded the bike doesn't struggle at all...did a 3000mile road trip last year and bike didn't have a single issue.
Saddened that HD discontinued the bike.
There's so much potential with those bikes, they tried to kind of do something along the same lines with the Softail Sport Glide. Just wasn't the same functionality wise.
My dealer had one a couple years ago wish id’a got it think they wanted 10 for it. Super clean and like you said low miles. Ended up getting a 97FXDL🤘🏼
Turbulence was the reason I rarely road it. At the time I had a 2019 Road King and the 2016 SB. The turbulence was unmanageable over 70, but, I am an old guy. LOL
I always dug the Switchback! I have an older RKC right now, but when the funds become available I'd love to p/u a Switchback
I own a 2016 and I absolutely love it.
Hold onto that bike! Those are some awesome machines, I wish I would of bought a 2016 when I had the chance to!
Absolutely my favorite bike ever
It's a shame they discontinued that bike, that was an awesome concept!
GixxerFoo I just turned my Road King into a FLT . Fairing and tour pack . Road trips will be more fun . Plus I can Mix it up . I did not change anything Just added with Detach kits .
Good info! My current bike is a ‘06 dyna low rider, I picked up a 96” top end kit for it. Planning on doing that this winter. Once that’s done, I’m gonna get an evo powered touring bike. I can’t believe what those go for nowadays… considering it’s a Harley.
I have an ‘08 Low Rider. Which top end kit did you get? Looking into that myself.
A great motorcycle, and a pleasure to tour on or cruise town. Love our custom FLD
Love the switchback. Be a great bike for you gixxer
I'm actually kinda keeping an eye out for one, they are pretty hard to find it seems. I wanted one back when they made them but couldn't afford one then.
@@GixxerFoo I've seen a few now and again up in my neck of the woods. The pnw. Maybe a little far for you
I have a 2013 Switchback myself. Love it.
Cool bikes but I went with a t sport for my long hauls/bar hopping. When are you doing a fxdxt specific vid bro? ❤😊
Well at 80 years old and after four broken backs causing my legs to be weak, the 2014 Dyna Switchback keeps me on the road. I think it is a great bike, lots of power, easier to get my legs over, and just happy that Harley chose to make it. As of 2024 it only has 16,000 kilometres but I can still get out to ride when my back allows me. Better than not riding at all! I wouldn’t be able to handle the bigger heavier cruisers!
Had mine for over a decade now, wouldn't be without it.
My '02 roadking is an 88 "er. That is quite impressive even alongside the 107".
Had 2, a 13 Vivid Blk & 14 Amber whiskey.
Loved the FLD.
It didn’t have the negative fork offset geometry that the FLs do. Makes a big difference to the way it turns.
I own one! Absolutely love it
I own a 2013 and love it. I think it's the best bang for the buck.
Road King for the win!
I liked them when they were being produced but had a chopper that I loved, now that the chopper and my lower left leg are gone due to a drunk driver I would absolutely love to find one for sale nearish me - add a hand shift with clutch lever and off I'd go.
I currently own one and it's a love hate relationship. I bought it during covid and didn't know if I was going to become a hardcore rider. So, first thing I wish I knew about the unbalanced engine this has. It starts to vibrate at a bad frequency a 2200 rpms and right up my spine. Replaced the seat and it helps a little. Also, my feet vibrate ridiculously at normal cruising speeds. Rode a buddies Street-glide and it's silky smooth. I really don't use the "Switchback" Features much either. Just makes it easier to clean the hard to reach spots. And I just think I'm ready for touring without the buffeting from around the gas tank. I rode it 600 miles and the amount of gas stops where needed but at the same time annoying. If I just bought a touring bike I'd be comfortable longer and not need to stop so much. It has a 4.7 gal tank and gets 175 miles to every refill. I tend to fill it early cause the gauge looks lower the the tank really is. I love the 103 especially after I installed the Vance and Hines FuelPak tuner. Previous owner put the Vance and Hines Slash cut Dual exhaust and a K and N heavy breather air filter on it and it was burning kinda lean so the tuner woke this baby up so much! Love the power of the 103! The lack of dual front brakes is noticeable when two up but fine when your alone. And the small tire diameters make bumps feel more rough. And I don't want to spend the money on after market rims and tires for it. Just doesn't feel right to spend the money on a half assed touring bike that doesn't tour comfortably for me. IMO. Someone else might find it to be the perfect mix of features. Well, I'm done ranting about the switchback, I think. Love your videos. Keep them coming.
I just rode my first Dyna yesterday. I do like the shake at idle, but even while doing 50 mph, at deceleration, it vibrated like hell. Is this part of the old school Harley experience? lol I hear no one talking about the vibrations going down the road at deceleration.
I hear people call the Switchback the" road queen ". As a smaller guy 5'4". I ride a street glide but had to lower it and its a little much for local cruising. I thought about picking up a Switchback but wound up keeping the sg and picked up a fat bob for local blasting
Switchback was cool. Crossbones too.
Another awesome episode & educating me more on the Dyna SwitchBack ...

This bike don’t look like a baby road king it looks like a 70’s Electra glide with hard bags.
I absolutely loved my switchback it was a more nimble lighter smaller road king. Amazing motorcycle
The sport glide softail shares the same fate...
It's sad because it's a good bike and is a big influence if not a precursor to the low rider ST "style" .
They will never be ST bags , they are sport glide bags rookies.
Gixier foo does a 2005 88 inch motor have the auto compression release it has fuel injection 2005 Springer Classic?
i love my switchback
I think the switchback is rad! I’d rock one all day long.
Do not find the stock wheels attractive, and the hard bags are too small. But at the used prices I see them selling for around here, those issues can be swapped no problem. I mean they sell for cheap.
Dyna's were intended for the twisty especially the FXDL , it Lay's down real well especially when comparing to FXDWG which is just a Cruiser for tooling down the road taking in the scenery ! I put approximately $6,000.00 into my 2001 Dyna low Rider , cams , Mikuni 45 , 95 BIG Bore , Thunder header , dual disc up front , and forward controls , one and 1/4 Chubby drag bars, mini scissy bar. Drive it like you stoled it ! L.O.L. Power in and power out ! Not , for the weak at heart...get on shut up ! And hold on....LL KOOL RAY 😎 FRISCO FOOL ! I THOUGHT YOU KNEW ! Black , and chrome a real midnight marauder , oh' yeah remove the stock directional signal went with Whisker license plate w/ blinkers in frame .And the front stock blinkers removed and put sleek minute blinkers on fork tube for a cleaner streamline look
