    I live in the Philippines. I ordered a V6 Prado and 6 months later no unit yet. Then I saw dealers selling the Y62. I got one and I love it. We have the upgraded infotainment here with Apple car play and android auto. I used my Y62 in the sand dunes and it was a monster. My only upgrade was cooper rugged trek tires. My only gripe is this is a very big car. I've ridden the Prado and LC300 and they are easier to drive around town.

    There was a 45k difference in price when I bought my Y62 against the 200 series last year. It was a "no brainer". I haven't spent that on accessories or upgrades yet, even though I'm trying real hard.

    Nice video - thanks! Had my vehicle since February and really pleased with it. Bought it to tow a big van and am experiencing the sagging rear end. Unfortunately, I had the genuine Nissan tow bar fitted so can’t use weight distribution hitches (although apparently they are ok with the Hayman Reese gear). Looks like a coil & airbag upgrade needed. Otherwise, the vehicle is a beast!

    Picked mine up Thursday drive down to Melbourne Friday and wow what a car. You are right with driving position but all good and comfy every car is different
    Honestly what a car
    Surprised me on how good it was in fuel took me and brought me back in one tank each time with over 25 litres of fuel left
    Loved it super comfy and no tiredness at all

      For sure mate, they are great cars and well worth the coin. It is a shame about the driving position, although with some mucking around, you can get it decent. Very true, they aren't that bad on fuel, all depends on how you drive it, fuel efficent on the big trips.

    had my series 5 for a few weeks now, and i agree with the seating i already noticed i couldn't get the perfect position for my desired seating and my wife drives it also so it always changes. but my TI Pathfinder had better seats i reckon. softer leather? not sure yet but still love the car . absolute weapon. woodgrain doesn't even bother me tbh. infotainment system will get upgraded eventually but not a major issue as you stated. great video mate. cheers

    Nice review. I just wish they had air suspension like LRs. Ours self-levels no matter what you tow. I could not do without it now. Please Mr Nissan add self levelling suspension..then I'd buy a Y62 immediately. Such a good car otherwise.

  • @dudebud72
    @dudebud72 4 месяца назад

    That my friend is eqivelent to the base Infiniti QX80, oddly it’s a hodgepodge of dated, and new tech. The main fault of the rear suspension is the compressor that leaks out the tubes. Upgrade to the newest Infiniti rear suspension compressor . The 5.6 needs the highest octane. The one side timing chain tends to stretch out at about 60,000 miles US, but is a solid vehicle. You have a gem there mate!!

    • @NoOne56488
      @NoOne56488 6 дней назад

      If you understood how the VK56 works you would know it doesn't need "the highest octane". The ECU can detect knock and will pull timing from the engine when running on 91. I heard of a few people who only run 91 in their patrol and after a year and it's fine. The owners Manuel even states that you can run 91 in them with a loss in performance.

    Great vid, but don't blame the controls for being dangerous because they are similar to another make of car. It is obviously your responsibility to learn how to FULLY operate the vehicle in a safe matter before taking the controls. That being said, accidentally switching from AWD to 4WD is not a cardinal sin nor dangerous (up to 100km/h), but for the more serious attempted breaches, this vehicle has many fail-safe features built in to it to stop inadvertent actions under certain conditions. Once familiar with this car you'll recognise the functions better. I'm sure the Nissan designers had a session of "what if they try and do this while reversing?" etc etc etc.
    That being said, thanks for the informative vid. Regards, Series 4 Y62 owner and lover of that "oh so beautiful V* growl!". Cheers, dd

I think it's just important to understand the things you don't like and what the car lacks in, to upgrade parts to make it better. Understanding limiting factors and not being so serious in yourself to say "this is the best car ever" Would never get rid of the Patrol, fantastic car and is a perfect fit for me.

    I dont know why everyone bangs on about the woodgrain - at least it's different.
    I love the look & smell of leather seats but I find leather is too slippery so I've fitted sheepskin covers - no more sliding around.
    And as for those bloody air bags - dont start me! They're good when they work but they constantly leak & squeak endlessly. Worst accessory I've fitted. Absolutely love my 62 though. 😀

    • @WLD62
      @WLD62  10 месяцев назад

      The woodgrain is certainly different in a modern car, at least this styling of it. I guess people expected something more than that for the money. Leather has it's pros and cons, I like it, but wish the seats were a different style and provided more support while driving. I have heard many stories of air bags, I really hope someone can come up with a good fix as they're great when they work!

    Why do Australians put carpet on their dash tops?

    • @WLD62
      @WLD62  Год назад +6

      Lots of reasons mate. They're called a dash mat, you buy them specific to your car. Because the heat is so intense here the sun can damage your dash really quickly, can also crack it over time. A dash mat also helps to stop the glare off the dash when driving. Helps to keep the inside a little cooler too.

    The difference in power from 95 to 98 isn't noticeable, 91 will see a loss in power tho. You don't need to run 98 in a NA direct injected engine, if it was a supercharged or turbo i would run 98 but it's not required to run it in the Y62 and you're wasting money buying 98.

      Diesel will die out here in Aus like it is overseas. The patrol fuel use even while towing is on par with the 200 series. Let’s see how the 300 goes in longevity, already had issues with turbo’s and injectors. Let’s see how they go for heat with the turbo’s buried where they are.
